Parinoush Saniee edit

Hi Kudpung, me again. Just seen that you've protected the page on Iranian novelist Parinoush Saniee from recreation. The original creator, somebody with a COI, has repeatedly copy-pasted content from the author's agency website, which is annoying, but she's got enough of an international reputation that we really ought to have an article on her. --Andreas Philopater (talk) 12:05, 3 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Andreas, I've unlocked it but if you want a copy of it you'll have to ask Wizardman. Remeber that if you simply go ahead and recreate it it will release a red alert and will probably just get deleted again. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 12:40, 3 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

John Dugdale (photographer) edit

As you wished I added two sources and removed the tag. Is everything ok now? Please reply here or on my own talk page. --Meister und Margarita (talk) 16:44, 3 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hi Meister und Margarita. It's just enough to get the PROD tag removed but unfortunately unless you are able to provide some substantial, reliable, independent 3rd party sources such as dedicated articles in the established press that provide in-depth coverage, notability for a Wikipedia article won't be asserted and the article will probably be deleted through another of our deletion processes. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 16:56, 3 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
IMHO the quote of Vince Aletti is a sufficient source, independent and definitely 3rd party. Greetings --Meister und Margarita (talk) 18:18, 3 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
Well, Meister und Margarita, sources are everything on Wikipedia and one is generally not sufficient. Such a subject must meet WP:CREATIVE. I'll let you be the judge of that, but there is still a risk of it going before the community at at WP:AfD. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 18:27, 3 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Please Do Not Delete edit

Please do not delete the page "Dwayne Buckle", the page was first placed on wikipedia in 2007, the page was then nominated for a deletion in 2012 under suspicious circumstances, it is now 3 years later and author has also produced many additional works since then. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Moviemoguls (talkcontribs) 22:11, 3 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

The article needs to include some genuine claims to notability per WP:CREATIVE which then need to be supported by in-depth reliable sources in the established press. I have removed the COPYVIO tag but I have listed it again for deletion. This will probbly keep happening, so if you can eventualy meet the criteria for inclusion your recourse woud be to lodge an appeal atWP:DELREV after it gets deleted again. Please remember to sign your posts.--Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 03:31, 4 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

RFA guide edit

I saw your oppose to RegistryKey with a link to your User:Kudpung/RfA criteria. This is one of most sensible such things I've seen on this topic. I often think the wiki community is its own worst enemy. I keep seeing the same topics (RFA, disruptive editors, handling wayward admins, etc) discussed ad nauseam and agreement never being reached on actually doing anything about it. So far I've mostly managed to stay out of these messes. I usually just read and move along. I think some wiki policies do more harm than good. I wonder if these things are realistically solvable. HalfGig talk 22:13, 3 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hi HalfGig. That, and the other essay I wrote at WP:Advice for RfA candidates have become the mainstays of advice for adminship hopefuls and have received thousands of hits. Ironically, many candidates themselves seem to be the ones who don't read them. I did my best some years ago by creating the banner which was mentioned and reproduced yesterday at WT:RfA, but while you can lead a horse to water, you can't make it drink.
Unless you were an admin, you do well to stay clear of the drama venues. Getting involved would only end up with you hating the place you once loved to edit. Nevertheless, do vote at RfA by all means. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 02:48, 4 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
I started out by dabbling working on plant articles. Then I got interested in making Cucurbita as good as I could and was fortunate enough to have people help me. Right now it's at FAC. I'm happy just editing plant-related articles. I no plans to be an admin. HalfGig talk 02:54, 4 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Ella Jones edit

Hello- I apologized for my numerous attempts to add my daughter 'Ella Jones' to the Article The Disappointments Room. Ella is a 9 year old actress know for her work in this psychological thriller. If you could please advise me on how to successfully add Ella to the page, that would be great. There is already another Ella Jones (a British actress) in the system so I'm unsure how to add since they have the same name. I wrote her bio for imdb so I put the same bio on this site. If I need to change it for copy right Laws, I can certainly do so. I am her mother and just trying to get the info posted correctly. Thanks so much for your help as I am new to all of this. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Standard3 (talkcontribs) 14:40, 4 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hi Standard3. I understand your enthusiasm to get you daughter mentioned on Wikipedia, but as the numerous deletions will have shown, there is very little chance this will happen any time soon. An encyclopedia is a rather special kind of book or web site and it has strict criteria over what can and cannot be included. Your daughter would need to have a very illustrious career behind her already to be able to meet our criteria for actors and actresses at WP:ENT (click the link) which I urge you to read and for even more details please read Wikipedia:Notability. I'm afraid if you want to promote Ella's career, you will have to rely on other web sites, social media sites (which of course Wikipedia is not), or make your own web site for her, or rely on the skills of her casting agent. FWIW, Ella Jones (the British actress) is also slated to be deleted for the same reasons. Regards, --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 15:07, 4 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Ella Jones edit

Thank you for explaining. I appreciate that you are very careful and particular about submissions. My hope is as she builds her resume, she can have the name Ella Jones vs. the other submission. Thank you for deleting that one as well to avoid confusion because at one point she was list under my Ella's movie. :) Best, Kelly — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:1004:B01D:BEE3:582E:96B4:408:26CD (talk) 17:42, 4 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hey Kudpung, the AFD mentioned above turned into a bit of a mess. Someone made a non-admin SK closure on it, then when I suggested that was an inappropriate action, they opened a second AFD on it. If you want to comment on the new AFD, it's here. Townlake (talk) 20:46, 4 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Socking vandals at Buxton Community School edit

Hi, Kudpung! Earlier today you blocked the user User:‪TopQualityBanter‬ for vandalising the article Buxton Community School. Immediately another new user, User:‪TheGmiester‬, began vandalising the same article. They even created a cleverly disguised fake article, Buxton Community SchooI, using a capital "eye" in place of the lowercase "ell" in the school name. I have tagged that one for speedy. You can deal with the sock, but given the recurrent nature of the attack, I wonder if short term semi-protection would also be appropriate? Thanks. --MelanieN (talk) 20:33, 9 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Oops, I just noticed the time. It seems unlikely that you are online and editing right now. (Darn time changes!) But no worries, the Gmiester has already been blocked by User:HJ Mitchell. I am pinging him so he can see the other issues: the two fake pages (the one I mentioned plus Banter Community School), and the question of possible semiprotection of the school article. --MelanieN (talk) 20:42, 9 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
Actually, I took the whole mess to ANI. We are up to four vandals now, and counting. --MelanieN (talk) 23:57, 9 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
Just FYI, Chris, I upgraded your short block of an obvious VOA to an indef (hope you don't mind). I've also indef'd all the other accounts and smei'd the article. That ought to keep them guessing! Best, HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 00:27, 10 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

I should know better than to try to hunt around for an admin who happens to be online - rather than just take it to ANI directly. Thanks, Harry, for doing what needed to be done. And afterwards I found myself thinking, "If I had tools, I could have just handled this - and not have to bother anyone else." --MelanieN (talk) 03:27, 10 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Vardi Kahana edit

Hello, The article you've marked for deletion is an article about famous Israeli photographer, who is famous in the field for about 40 years. I simply translated the existing article from Hebrew Wikipedia and added some latest facts about her. Could you please let me know if this explanation is enough? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Arthistorian1977 (talkcontribs) 11:57, 11 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I understand this, so I've added the references from the sources around internet with information about her. Actually, an award she won is just a small part of her biography. As you see in the article itself, she is represented in many museums around the world and she is a one of the most important contemporary artists in Israel — Preceding unsigned comment added by Arthistorian1977 (talkcontribs) 13:48, 11 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

I had a look at List of human genes on chromosome 17 and I can't say I was convinced it was one of the "the most obvious cases". Can you say why it and its cousins couldn't provide some kind of useful list? Ben MacDui 14:16, 11 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Ben, I'm not sure I really understand what the creator had in mind. They all looked like wrongly created dab or redirects to me, with only one or two entries that were acronyms linking to other pages. Perhaps ask Anthony Appleyard what he thinks because he did the actual deletion (he may also simply have trusted my judgement). --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 15:32, 11 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

About the sources on the page you mentioned edit

I put the link to the official governing body of Association Football in Tunisia, proving that the club is currently evolving in Tunisian "Ligue 2", and the official page of that club on facebook, proving that it actually exists. You might check the links to make sure everything is in order.
Thank you. --Alexsd27 (talk) 15:40, 11 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hi Alexsd27. Unfortunately, because anyone can write what they like on Facebook (and other social networking sites), it's not a reliable source and isn't even allowed on Wikipedia. If you're using another external link as a referenced source then you must use it as a source, otherwise the article will get tagged again. To see how to do this please see WP:CITE. Good luck! Ever considered an RfB? edit

Hi Kudpung,
Wikipedia has been losing quite a few 'crats lately; some have resigned, such as Writ Keeper, others are about to resign, such as WormTT, and quite a few have had their rights removed because of inactivity. Even then, most of the active editors who are 'crats are relatively inactive in RfA issues. There really seems to be only one very active 'crat (Acalamari). You seem to be a good fit for the position. You're experienced as an editor (8 years) and as an admin (around 3-4 years), have a good level of activity, an extensive background in RfA-related discussions, and a generally uncontroversial and civil manner. Although I wouldn't think of writing the statement myself (I've never nominated a user for adminship, much less bureaucratship!), I think it would be something for you to consider. Thanks, --Biblioworm 04:36, 14 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Bureaucratship = More work! Jim Carter 06:04, 14 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
(edit conflict) :Biblioworm, Thanks for your confidence. I've considered it many times and my email receives at least one such suggestion per week. However, I'm not sure what I would actually do there; all the crats can do nowadays is approve bots and close RfA, and there are not many of either. 'Crats have no other special tools. I created an analysis of their work just over a year ago and got a very uncrat-like slur from one of them for doing it. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 06:08, 14 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

I want to see this list now! ·addshore· talk to me! 00:59, 15 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
  • Oiyarbepsy, MelanieN, What we need to teach participants at RfA is that it isn't the place for newbies to try to be clever by asking deliberately stupid or confusing questions and one to which they don't know the answers themselves (Q8), and we can do that by leaving appropriate mesages on theier talk pages or pinting them to WP:Advice for RfA voters. Secondly, I appreciate everyone's enthusiasm, but my talk page is not the place to discuss how candidates should answer questions on their current RfA. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 02:11, 15 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hello, thanks for your help and happy new year!!

I still don't really get how wiki works, sorry for that.

Now I reinserted the page Javier Zugarramurdi García. After making sure that the content in contumancia.com is not copyrighted.

What I dont get is what you wrote in here:

'Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.'

Can you please explain me how is it to not kept the edit summary and that?

Questions edit

I thought I would leave a message to elaborate a little on my questions and neutrality on the RFA for MelanieN. I asked for clarification, I asked in the spirit of AGF, and I asked because I like to see how people reply. Standard questions breed standard answers, but if we are to foster an open minded environment then I feel that observing a candidate, a nominator, a trailblazer, etc reply offers insight not only into how they reply, but into how they conduct themselves. MelanieN didn't have to answer, but she did. MelanieN could have given standard replies by copying and placing the relevant material in the answer section, but she didn't. In my eyes then that demonstrates a willingness to rise to the occasion and to discuss matters civilly with others, both of which are good qualities to have in an admin.

Like you I have no desire to create more drama at rfa than is absolutely necessary, which I why I replied here. Its also the reason I decided to voice my neutrality, rather than to throw in with the support or oppose sections. As you have observed, all things possible have happened before at rfa, and if I offended you I do apologize as this was not my intention. I will refrain from participating at RFA as much as possible from now on, as it seems that the environment has changed too much for me to be of any use to it. Sorry for any trouble I may have caused. TomStar81 (Talk) 08:50, 18 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

TomStar81, thanks for dropping in. Absolutely no apology needed. If you take a quick look at this chart you'll see very quickly why we desperately need new admins. However, I would fully understand if you were not aware that 100% of the reason for this has been the behaviour of the voters. Fortunately RfA is just beginning to clean itself up. I'm not in the slightest bit worried about the current candidates - the only chance of them not getting their mops is if the WMF closes Wikipedia down tomorrow. What I 'am' worried about are the number of editors who will not run for adminship if they can't rest assured that all voters will vote cleanly and objectively. For these very reasons, Melanie had to be dragged screaming and kicking to RfA, and if she, with a 100% guranteed chance of passing is worried about the behaviour of the voters, how many potential candidates of the right calibre are we losing? RfA now has the cleanest environment it's had for 7 years. I have fought hard to get there and pioneered many initiatives to get thus far. I don't want you to stop voting on RfA, but what we want are users who don't bother to vote if an RfA has reached a stage where an isolated oppose or neutral is never going to make any difference. Adminship is no big deal but for a near perfect candidate riding on the crest of a few moments of glory, to come and spoil that magic is Schadenfreude. To hell with the trolls, socks, and POV pushers, but for the others who volunteer their time time and skills for Wikipedia, lets keep them enjoying their hobby as much as we can. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 09:31, 18 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hi Christoph, I suggest you follow the link. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 02:12, 19 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
well well another paternalistic Wikipedian ... "need to teach participants at RfA" what makes you think you have something to teach ? --ChristopheT (talk) 06:38, 19 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
I don't; we, the community, at en.Wiki do. It possibly comes from the way they vote at RfA? And possibly the way some people need to learn good manners. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 09:14, 19 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
I did not know voting support or oppose is bad manners (I'll keep that in mind for next time). Now - me personally - I find posting "something for you to read" on a another users talk page without introduction and bare of providing any reason quite passive-aggressive & condescending. I think we can both agree this would be perfectly unacceptable would we have met face to face. It also suggests the person being clueless or worse : simply too stupid to vote (which ironically is very similar to the reason I voted oppose). --ChristopheT (talk) 12:07, 19 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
I don't owe you any apologies or explanations, and and I can see you are not disposed to a constructive discourse, so let's leave it here, shall we? I'll just point out however, that the choice description of a certain type of voter was yours. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 12:45, 19 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
I don't require nor was I asking for an apology - I am perfectly fine in a world where people have different opinions on the same subject.ChristopheT (talk) 14:31, 19 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
I was certainly not suggesting I owed you any apologies, but I seem to rcall mentioning other people's manners. You are ostensibly not comfortable in situations where you do not share other people's opinions, but that's your preogative. Also, Schluss jetzt, please. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 15:24, 19 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hi Kudpung; just out of interest, to improve my practice perhaps, when with this edit you dePRODed and redirected that article, why did you? What i mean is, do you always redirect elementary school articles, or is there some other criterion i missed or is it something else. I don't by any means question what you've done, just why, so i can get better. Cheers, LindsayHello 12:42, 19 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hi Lindsay. It's a special case that's been established by precedent for years for schools. With very few exceptions primary and middle schools do not meet WP:ORG, but rather than delete them outright we redirect them. Read more about it at WP:OUTCOMES, but redirection rather than deletion is actually anchored in policy. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 12:51, 19 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
Thanks; i knew there'd be a good reason.... I'm aware that secondary schools are almost always notable (i dePRODed one myself just the other day, but i was not aware of OUTCOMES for the others. Thanks for the pointer. Cheers, LindsayHello 13:00, 19 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Per WP:IPBLENGTH, IP addresses should almost never be indefinitely blocked. Does it need to be blocked indefinitely? Probably it is used by Russavia, but it is easy to change another IP address.--GZWDer (talk) 04:54, 20 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hi GZWDer, check the blog log here, it will tell you all about why it is a special case and if you know about Russavia, you have the answer to your own question. In fact any more of it and I may even extend it to a range block. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 10:05, 20 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
I have tagged the IP. Probably edits should be revdeled or oversighted. By the way, Airenthusiast (talk · contribs) is another sock of Russavia which has not been blocked.--GZWDer (talk) 05:10, 21 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

WER Discussions edit

Somewhere amongst the many threads you said, There are some, of whom up to 90% or more of their 1,000s of edits are from systematically searching every noticeboard and forum (such as this one) for an occasion to place a throwaway sarcastic comment about Wikipedia or its admins. They often craft their low form of wit deliberately to antagonize others in the hope of receiving a retort they can complain of as being uncivil or PA. They are the ones that make regular editors sick and tired of continuing to participate. They are the ones who should do the decent thing (if they can't grow up) and retire. Was that about me? If not me, who? Buster Seven Talk 07:50, 24 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Buster7, of course it was not about you - why on earth should you have such a guilty conscience? There are four of them. They know perfectly well who they are. Now that their role model for PA and incivility has been largely muzzled and Mr Wales has stated that he cant wait for him to be banned fast enough, they roam as a loosley joined wolf pack, occasionally coming together to make a concderted dig at admins and sometimes even at me personally. The proof is that they usually turn up where I have recently posted something. I obviously can't name them, at least not until such times as the community has built up a complex case of diffs that can be taken straight to Arbcom - ANI is out of the question because along with their followers from the peanut gallery they already practically run the place, especially as defenders of users who have been accused of blatant PA and incivility. If they don't change their attitude after all these years, permanently banning them will become the only viable solution. The loss of what little contribution they make to content would be a sustainable minor collateral damage. Look around you, you'll have no difficulty in identifying them. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 08:10, 24 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
I just put two and two together and came up with six. I thought you had taken my "mink collar" and "Image of a mitered hat" as sarcasm rather than just some levity. In my support of Tito at his RfA I mentioned he would be a good replacement for a recently desopped "gruff and dis-respectful admin (as some admins have chosen to be)". I know you pay attention to RfA's. And a few other subtle little jabs at admins here and there. I know who you mean. Not all the players, but most. Anyway. I just needed to know. Thanks for your reply and for all you do here. Buster Seven Talk 14:50, 24 January 2015 (UTC).Reply

Removal edit

I saw the requirements... But this is my second account so combined I would easily meet the requirements. There is a 1200 page backlog.... Time to change your policy.. I'm going to re-add my self latter and hope it remains unnoticed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lynctekrua (talkcontribs) 12:20, 24 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

I have trouble understanding the comment above. Perhaps it just means "I am a puppet". (One thing's for sure: the editing history is short and extraordinary.) Puppet or no, competence is required, but I don't see it. -- Hoary (talk) 14:26, 24 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
Lynctekrua, it will not remain unnoticed and the only thing we need to do with our policy is continue to strictly enforce it. We do not combine accounts that are not declared. Unfortunately, not only have you demonstrated quite clearly that you are insufficiently acquainted with our policies to be reviewing AfC submissions, but you do not understand some of the basic opeations of Wikipedia, such as signing your posts. Do please read the comments from others on your talk page. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 22:59, 24 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
On this offer of yours ("Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:Lynctekrua/afch-rewrite.js/submissions.js"): he can't do what you invite him to do, as he's blocked. I suppose that one could either (a) remind him that he's gagged until his block is lifted (but that he can request the latter) or (b) offer to copy any relevant message from is talk page to that MfD. I could take my pick between these, but as it was you who presented this offer (even indirectly, via boilerplate), I think it's better that you decide how it may be taken up. -- Hoary (talk) 07:50, 26 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
The template is a formality. Just like CSD templates that go on the talk pages of blocked users. he won't be returning to editing in a hurry and there's no reasonable argument he can make for keeping the illegal AfC and sysop scripts in his .js pages. I would just leaqve it as it is, Hoary. Sometimes we have to do these things. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 08:21, 26 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Protection Conflict edit

At this article there are two protections in force Pending Changes Protection and Semi Protection, surely only one needs to be in force and not simultaneously Zafiraman Lets talk about it 13:47, 24 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Technically it doesn't matter as SP overrides PC. The PC control panel is missing the 'change settings feature'. Thanks for pointing it out. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 23:15, 24 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Skinks edit

Koko Nigel (t c) is editing in the skinks department, and this has been brought up on Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Archive268#Page move cleanup. I came across three peculiar edits of theirs in Cryptoblepharus egeriae, a redirect they had turned into a text-less article tagged with {{unreferenced}} and {{orphan}}, so I reverted and left them a message. No answer.

Cryptoblepharus egeriae is a redirect to Blue-tailed Skink (that ought to be under Blue-tailed skink per WP:TITLEFORMAT), and Koko Nigel had blanked and redirected Blue-tailed Skink to the DAB page at Blue-tailed Skink (disambiguation) created by them. I have reverted the redirect as the DAB page does not contain an entry on Cryptoblepharus egeriae. I also left the user a message. No answer.

I came online this UTC morning to discover, that they ignore my messages and keep editing. I'd be happy to help out with simple things such as creating Blue-tailed rainbow skink insted of Blue-Tailed Rainbow Skink. What would suggest be done in this case? -- Sam Sing! 11:46, 25 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Well, Sam, The user has a bad case of WP:CIR but is possibly not even a native English speaker and/or very young. It's sometimes very difficult to help users like these understand that while they are editing in good faith they're actually making quite a mess of things. One thing is for sure, skinks and salamaders aren't even remotely related, but he began by crushing one article to create another over it with something he copied from the web. I won't unilaterally block such an editor, but it would probably the the outcome of ANI if the user doesn't react to talk page messages. Do all the reverts and reverse moves you think are necessary and try to obtain some reaction from him. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 12:06, 25 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
Yes, I do hope they at least would drop a line like "I from Japan/China/<whatever> my English not good so" (no prejudice intended) so we could hook them up with a mentor speaking that language and retain them in a guided and more productive manner. And save some time with the editorial mops. Thanks. -- Sam Sing! 12:19, 25 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
Having a stalk. Maybe Anna can gently help out here. She would have the language skills, I believe knows the subject hugely, and is great with young and or confused users. That is if she does not have enough on her plate at the moment. Irondome (talk) 15:33, 25 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Oliver Wainwright edit

Just a head's up, I declined your speedy tag, primarily because a news search without the Guardian brings up many hits. I can understand AfD, but I'm quite surprised you tagged it for speedy, if I'm honest. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 14:48, 26 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hi Ritchie333, Well, you'll have to stay surprised. I've tagged probably 10,000 articles and got it wrong at least 10 times, so you see, even admins are not infallible ;) Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 15:12, 26 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
Well, I pinged you because I thought I might have got it wrong too and you'd want to revert or AfD it. Anyway, this is why the "only delete what's tagged" procedure works well as two eyes on things makes the rate of false positives even less. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 15:16, 26 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Ahmed Tamjid Aijazi deletion request edit

Dear Kudpung,

I would like to divert your attention towards a page Ahmed Tamjid Aijazi which has fail to meet the relevant notability guideline according to WP:CS policy, citations are self driven not from reliable sources as per WP:POV policy and it seems advertisement of an individual so it therefore its Verifiability is highly questioned as per WP:V policy, should be deleted from Wikipedia, moreover it was also listed and resulted as Delete in 24th January 2008 deletion log you may also review its (2nd nomination) for deletion. cheers, peace bye.-- Faizan Munawar Varya chat contributions 14:49, 26 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Template edit

Hi there, do you know the name of the template to be placed on an article of a footballer who is in the news regarding a transfer? Thanks Zafiraman Lets talk about it 17:39, 26 January 2015 (UTC)

I'm sorry, Zafiraman, but I know nothing about football or fotball related articles. Questions like these are always best asked as the parent project, in this case Wikipedia:WikiProject Football, or at the WP:Reference desk. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 01:04, 27 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Sorry, Ben, if you mean anything to do with the article at Ron Johnson (businessman), I have never edited it or its pictures. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 01:09, 27 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
  • Ben, it looks like the reason it was deleted was due to copyright issues. What this means is that you probably took a picture and uploaded it without showing the correct permissions or labeled it as your own work. This is actually a pretty common issue when it comes to uploading images of living people- it's a process that can be fairly complicated if you're not really familiar with the process and the permissions that you're supposed to assert with said pictures. (It's something that I actually have more than a few problems with myself, as I mostly stick to uploading posters and book covers.) The best thing to do here is to look for assistance from the Wikimedia Commons help center, by asking for help from WP:TEAHOUSE, or by asking for help from editors that are familiar with the upload and permissions process for images of living people. Koko Nigel edit

Re our discussion, some of the user's edits appear plausible and certainly good faith, but others are truly bizarre. There were the extremely weird page moves discussed briefly at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Archive268#Page move cleanup and some hoax edits at Salamanders as pets. These two edits at the user's talk are very hard to take as good faith: diff and diff. Fortunately, working out what to do is above my pay grade... Johnuniq (talk) 11:01, 27 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Johnuniq, when the current very short block expires we'll see what happens. If the disruption continues there will unfortunately be only one solution. Keep watching how others handle these issues and you may well be ready for that higher pay grade. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 11:55, 27 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Is there any solution to keep that article, if not then remove that article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Shaz1987 (talkcontribs) 18:09, 27 January 2015 (UTC) Shaz1987 (talk) 18:13, 27 January 2015 (UTC)ShazReply
(edit conflict) (talk page stalker) @Shaz1987: If you are anyway connected to a company, then you have a conflict of interest and are discouraged to edit the article directly and if your company is notable then someone else will create an article about it.
