I'm sorry that your first article came to this; it's just that even with these specific sources, the footballer doesn't seem to meet the standard of WP:GNG; there are more standards on that page that are relevant. In the meantime, there's a discussion on deletion of the article here, and I encourage you to go participate and, even if unsuccessful in your defence, hopefully you'll learn some more about what sort of articles are accepted here.
