Edit summaries edit

Hi there. When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:

The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.

Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field. If you are adding a section, please do not just keep the previous section's header in the Edit summary field - please fill in your new section's name instead. Thank you. --Sanfranman59 01:38, 26 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Category:African American baseball players edit

FYI, I've nominated Category:African American baseball players for speedy deletion. That category has already gone through WP:CFD and was deleted/merged as a result. All of what you're doing may be reversed. —Wknight94 (talk) 01:08, 23 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Chris Young edit

Thanks for pointing out the gallery. The thinking is that many have said I had too many images (from the same day) in the article. I consented to moving them to a gallery. You may be interested to know that on 3/25 (Opening Day in Tokyo) Image:20070616 Chris Young visits Wrigley (4)-edit3.jpg will be the WP:POTD on the main page.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTD) 19:29, 10 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of Template:Baseball Year/doc edit

A tag has been placed on Template:Baseball Year/doc requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.

If the template is intended to be substituted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page indicating that it is substituted so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{transclusionless}}</noinclude>).

Lifetime edit

Can I ask you, why are you adding Lifetime as you did here and in many other cases? The instructions in Lifetime read "Please, don't replace DEFAULTSORT, xxxx births, yyyy deaths with this template. There is no consensus for this action." Thanks,Magioladitis (talk) 03:08, 1 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Question about an edit edit

I noticed this edit, as I am a regular watcher of this page. I'm curious, what is the critera for "person from somewhere." I'm not sure this category refers to people's birthplace. I was born in city X and moved to city Y when I was six months old -- I lived in that town for 21 years. I'd say "city Y" is where I'm from, not "city X."

I'm not commenting here to disagree with your edit, but rather to question it. I think "from" needs to be qualified somewhere. Timneu22 (talk) 19:04, 7 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

José Canseco edit

Thanks for reverting me at Dream 9. I changed it because I couldn't believe Choi was actually fighting a baseball player and though it was someone with the same name :) Cheers, --aktsu (t / c) 11:55, 30 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Ichiro Suzuki edit

Hello Kanesue. I was wondering if you might do us a favor. None of us can find English-language sources that verify the infobox statistics for Ichiro in Nippon ProBall. The question we are trying to answer is: Does Ichiro hold an Orix franchise record OR a NPB career or single-season record in each of those statistics? If you could check some Japanese-language sources and let me know what you find out, I would appreciate it. If I've confused you or the question is not clear, please let me know. Thanks. KV5 (TalkPhils) 12:44, 7 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Is that for all six categories under NPB? KV5 (TalkPhils) 13:03, 7 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the Baseball Barnstar edit

Hey, I'm writing to say thanks for the Baseball Barnstar you recently awarded me. It may sound corny, but I am truly honored to be recognized by another member of WikiProject Baseball, especially such a quality editor as yourself. It really made my day to be awarded the barnstar, and makes me more determined than ever to ensure another baseball article becomes Featured here on Wikipedia.

--UCinternational (talk) 11:27, 20 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for File:KANESUE logo.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:KANESUE logo.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Courcelles 08:41, 29 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
