Zamin Ryot

I wish I could have a list of films that are reviewed there @DaxServer:. Any film that has this review + Idlebrain.com review is automatically notable. One thing I didn't realise the Telugu films are not lacking articles, they are all on the Telugu Wikipedia. See this (all red links) vs. [1] (no red links). DareshMohan (talk) 08:09, 6 January 2024 (UTC)

Too bad we don't have many Telugu-speaking users who are committed to expanding old articles. Kailash29792 (talk) 08:10, 6 January 2024 (UTC)
I am finally done creating all the 2000s Telugu films. I would tell User:Ab207 but he retired. I feel relieved. DareshMohan (talk) 00:10, 8 January 2024 (UTC)

Etharkkum Thunindhavan

Hi Kailash29792, in "Critical response", I've block-quoted several >40-word review quotations per WP:MOS; i think some of them could be paraphrased and elided to shorten them. I also removed a quotebox in "marketing" and integrated the text as a blockquote, though I don't think the quoted speech is especially interesting or relevant to the film's marketing. Otherwise it's fine. Good luck with the article and cheers, Baffle☿gab 05:34, 12 January 2024 (UTC).

visual effects

Why do we need to emulate western society in wikipedia I dont understand. If the visual effects section is not added in Avatar film article doesnt mean it should not be included for Indian films. I wonder why we should go by western norms in editing styles and templates. Anyways just wanted to mention my point to you. I do not agree with the bigger film concept, just because it is hollywood it is not bigger and greater and super. Fostera12 (talk) 10:21, 18 January 2024 (UTC)

Your "valid" questions are better asked at Template talk:Infobox film. You see west vs east, I see uniformity and consistency. Kailash29792 (talk) 10:25, 18 January 2024 (UTC)

Agree, but some templates adding dialogues by which is not included in Avatar. I dont see any conssitency there either. I am seeing it as emulating hollywood articles not west vs east. I think this edit is a trivial matter to be debated on Template talk:Infobox film. Thanks for your reply.Fostera12 (talk) 10:39, 18 January 2024 (UTC)

Help

So ordering the cast per credits order is supposedly original research per User_talk:Hammersoft#Extra_Ordinary_Man, how can I source the order? DareshMohan (talk) 01:47, 22 January 2024 (UTC)

Vikram (2022 film)

Hi Kailash29792, in the subsection "Release" --> "Film festival", I've commented-out a reference with a possibly malicious archived url; I went to check the cite website and it twice crashed my browser (Firefox) and froze my desktop, forcing me to reboot my PC. I've added another ref that verifies that subsection so the dodgy, commented-out citation may be removed. I've left a note to that effect on the article's talk page. Good luck with the article and cheers, Baffle☿gab 04:28, 26 January 2024 (UTC)

End credits

The end credits of Ayalaan is built different (can see on tamlilgun.com). It calls Sivakarthikeyan's character Shiva and Kothandam's character as Mote team member. Good thing we don't rely on credits. DareshMohan (talk) 03:36, 24 January 2024 (UTC)

Even if the end credits contain errors, they are worth mentioning. Like "Christopher Wlaken" in Annie Hall. Are you able to sort according to the end credits? Kailash29792 (talk) 03:42, 24 January 2024 (UTC)
Not able to find source for end credits (original research as of now). Not sure what Mote stands for. It matches beginning/end credits so not going to change it. DareshMohan (talk) 06:10, 24 January 2024 (UTC)
I guess it is a misspelling of "mute". Kailash29792 (talk) 06:16, 24 January 2024 (UTC)
The name Eliza isn't mentioned in the film although it is their in the end credits. What's the protocol? DareshMohan (talk) 07:46, 24 January 2024 (UTC)
Just go with it. Kopikkar already revealed the characters' name long before release. Kailash29792 (talk) 07:53, 24 January 2024 (UTC)
Lol, the alien text in the credits made me read the U with a line over it as O. DareshMohan (talk) 08:11, 24 January 2024 (UTC)
Also, the motion capture actor is listed after Kothandam as Venkatesh (11th) while Siddharth is credited second. Not sure how to format that. DareshMohan (talk) 09:06, 24 January 2024 (UTC)
Better ask this at WP:Helpdesk or the Marvel Cinematic Universe editors like InfiniteNexus. Not in every situation do actors sharing roles get proper credit or recognition. Like Bradley Cooper got got for voicing Rocket, not Sean Gunn who did the motion capture. Same with Steve Agee being King Shark's stand-in while Sylvester Stallone voiced the character. Sometimes it's the opposite, with Deepika Padukone getting so for her motion capture role in Kochadaiiyaan and not Savitha Radhakrishnan who was the voice. Only in M3GAN did both the physical and voice actors get recognition. Kailash29792 (talk) 09:28, 24 January 2024 (UTC)
I've replied at the helpdesk. InfiniteNexus (talk) 20:23, 25 January 2024 (UTC)

Dropped film, protocol

This seems like fan fiction: Draft:Leo 2. DareshMohan (talk) 01:32, 3 February 2024 (UTC)

Several cast members in Lal Salaam are unsourced. The teaser/song credits say Superstar Rajinikanth, Vishnu Vishal, Vikranth, Senthil, Jeevitha, Thambi Ramaiah, Ananthika Sanilkumar, Vivek Prasanna, Thangadurai. DareshMohan (talk) 02:58, 3 February 2024 (UTC)
Better to include those names only. Or it looks like people from the production house (actually moles) leak cast member names against the agreements signed. Kailash29792 (talk) 03:02, 3 February 2024 (UTC)
LOL, I added most of them after watching teaser but it is original research. DareshMohan (talk) 03:05, 3 February 2024 (UTC)

Soldier Poster

Hi, the current poster at Soldier (1998 Indian film) is a lobby card. Could you please upload a proper poster instead? Krimuk2.0 (talk) 11:35, 4 February 2024 (UTC)

Sure, if you know where I can find one. But lobby cards are permissible as they are a kind of poster. Kailash29792 (talk) 13:27, 4 February 2024 (UTC)
WP:FILMPOSTER says, "Ideally, an image of the film's original theatrical release poster should be uploaded [..] If a poster image cannot be found for the film, then a cover image of the film's display case (VHS, DVD, etc.) may be used instead." I think DVD cover would be more appropriate than a lobby card if an original release poster isn't available. Krimuk2.0 (talk) 17:22, 4 February 2024 (UTC)
When I add a poster that's not acceptable according to you for some minor reason, you're quick to change it. What happened now? LOL! Krimuk2.0 (talk) 06:53, 7 February 2024 (UTC)

ProveIt

Looks like ProveIt moves the dates and access-dates before the work/website parameters, which is not the order in read mode. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 14:36, 9 February 2024 (UTC)

This is better discussed with whomever manages the gadget, not me. Editing via VisualEditor renders the same. Kailash29792 (talk) 14:37, 9 February 2024 (UTC)
Agreed, but I don't see a reason to use ProveIt or any other gadget if the references are largely formatted / ordered properly. Specific references lacking some parameters can be done manually. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 17:11, 9 February 2024 (UTC)

Web series --> Television

You are right usually but on Rohit–Sasi, Story Discussion season 1 and Nirudyoga Natulu were released directly on YouTube, so they are web series. DareshMohan (talk) 08:09, 16 February 2024 (UTC)

Does it fit the description mentioned at web series? That such content is usually miniature episodes for free viewing? And was season 2 released on a streaming service or YouTube? Also, what about Kotha Poradu? Kailash29792 (talk) 08:12, 16 February 2024 (UTC)
Season 1, Season 2 of Story Discussion and Nirudyoga Natulu were released directly on YouTube. Kotha Poradu wasn't which is why I didn't revert your edit.
Btw, it has subs and is short. Try watching. DareshMohan (talk) 08:36, 16 February 2024 (UTC)

We need a new system...

As soon as a film gets three reliable reviews, the article should be created. Films like Bhamakalapam 2 lack articles despite having three reliable reviews.[8] [9] [10]. DareshMohan (talk) 10:26, 18 February 2024 (UTC)

AI hasn't advanced that much. But you create the article right away with these three reviews (via mobile) and I still doubt anyone will nominate it for deletion. Kailash29792 (talk) 10:52, 18 February 2024 (UTC)

Why would you bother to make this edit?

Why, after I informed you that another editor created this article because you posted a thread about it on the album article, have you kept needlessly editing the page for "Bones", including making this edit to rearrange the parameters of one citation, making them inconsistent with the rest of the citations? Sure, the parameters all appear the same in the final output, but you write "Why?" when the bigger why? applies to why you even made such a pointless edit in the first place. Your use of Visual Edit rearranged the parameters when it shouldn't have. In hindsight, I don't think I should have bothered telling you the article was created. Ss112 11:34, 19 February 2024 (UTC)

My point was to remove the language=en-US parameter. Do you edit citations via WP:ProveIt and/or WP:VisualEditor? They arrange parameters in the same order and why the gadgets work that way I'm least bothered, as long as they don't distort the ref or violate any guideline. Kailash29792 (talk) 11:40, 19 February 2024 (UTC)
Please don't remove language parameters per Template:Cite web ("Because cs1|2 templates are often copied from en.wiki to other wikis, the use of language codes is preferred so that language names render in the correct language and form"). I don't bother to add them myself as I don't use ProveIt or VisualEditor, but articles are frequently translated from English to other languages, and while the presence of lang=en/lang=en-US might not render anything here, it does on other wikis. Ss112 11:44, 19 February 2024 (UTC)
Since your points seem valid, especially the lang= one, I'm not gonna argue further. But if you don't use these two gadgets to add/edit refs, how do you do then? What other ref gadget is there? Cos otherwise adding refs is time consuming. Kailash29792 (talk) 11:50, 19 February 2024 (UTC)
I usually just copy the style of citation template I use (cite web, altered to cite magazine or news depending on the publication, with unspaced parameters) and change the parameter values as necessary. It's a little time-consuming I suppose but I prefer doing it that way if I'm creating an article and to me it's just part of the process. I don't use scripts or add-ons to edit; never have. Either way, thank you for explaining why you made the edit, I genuinely did not understand why. Ss112 11:56, 19 February 2024 (UTC)

Dude Jason Sanjay Vijay's step son

dude in your recent contribution in Vijay article you have mentioned Sanjay as his son but previously some one in the Vijay talk page as mentioned him as Jai akash biological son. So Sanjay seems to Vijay's step son. We cannot mention step son as son it's inappropriate and also it's totally inappropriate to mention his children filmography in his personal life as well and also there is news flooding over several Tamil articles that Vijay's current partner is keerthy Suresh and has a baby boy with her. So Iam reverting your edit. Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). Review

Can you add this Kumudam review to Naalaiya Theerpu [11]? DareshMohan (talk) 06:42, 4 March 2024 (UTC)

Restore article Yamajathakudu

Can you agree with this decision to restore the article since sources have been found (see below) and overturn Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Yamajathakudu? Worst case I have to recreate it. Deletion review takes forever.

Yamajathakudu was released to positive reviews. Zamin Ryot review page 15 bottom left: [12], another review [13] and a newspaper snippet page 9 upper left [14]. Mention about actress role as Mohan Babu's niece [15] (ctrl-f యమజాతకుడు).

At that time, Mohan Babu made a movie called Yamajathakudu with Sakshi Sivanand. A lot of money has been spent on this film. But the film flopped at the box office. It brought huge losses to Mohan Babu. With this, the financiers who had given loans started putting pressure on Mohan Babu. Mohan Babu's money could not be adjusted despite many efforts. Because of this, Mohan Babu had to sell his house in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad. With that money, the debts of the financiers were paid off. [16] (Ctrl-f యమజాతకుడు).

Although there are many controversies in Mohan Babu's film career, one incident left a mark on his life. The incident happened during the shooting of the movie Yamajatakudu. Heroine Sakshi Sivanand. Shooting was also done for three days. However, during the morning shooting in a hotel, Sakshi Sivanand came to the set and insulted Mohan Babu. She screamed loudly. Witness Sivanand accused Mohan Babu of visiting her hotel room, misbehaving with her and trying to rape her. But Mohan Babu got angry and scolded her and put his hands on her. When she said that she would file a complaint with the police, Nagarjuna immediately intervened and pacified her. After that she calmed down and somehow completed the shooting under some conditions. [17] (Ctrl-f యమజాతకుడు) (Entire article dedicated to Yamajathakudu).DareshMohan (talk) 08:55, 5 March 2024 (UTC)
