License tagging for Image:DaB.jpg

The same kind of linkspammers are currently altering many pages concerning Cheshire-related things. It seems like we have to put up with them, until it gets intense enough to trigger some kind of threshold for pages to be semi-protected. I've noticed that you live in the Northwich area. I have been trying to make a point for the inclusion of an article on the larger Northwich community including places like Weaverham, Hartford, Davenham, Rudheath etc.. but Ddstretch won't accept that it exists!! Yeah I was the "computer geek", though not so unsociable as the title 'geek' suggests. I seemed to be one of the first to introduce proxy servers which apparently hadn't happened before at Weaverham, so that got me a bollocking. And yeah, I know Richard Lloyd. I noticed you wrote the Dog House Music article. I myself was working on the chronology of the albums in the Seasick Steve article. I noticed you decided on '2005' for the Cheap album. 17. Dan Magnusson

Evening- I came across your page as I saw you had done some editing on the Seasick Steve article. I did a stub for Dan Magnusson, Steve's drummer who drummed with him on the first album (with the Level Devils) and who is currently recording on his new album as well- included all this plus a link to the LDs webpage as a source for verification- and some prick has gone ahead and deleted it. As he is a professional musician supporting one of hte biggest acts currently in the UK, imho hes notable- could you maybe have a look and if possible reestablish the article including any features which will prevent the same happening again? Hi, Yup, thats me. Interesting- I am not trying to argue with you I hasten to add! But presumably by the rationale, the members of say Iron Maiden shouldn't have individual pages unless they had done something notable as individuals? Seasick Steve

Jim, Good work on tidying up Seasick Steve's page and getting the album title right- my attempt at an info box down the bottom needs more work! I would like to get a bit more biographical info if possible, especially date of birth which I haven't managed to find anywhere (believe hes 68) so he could be properly referenced biographically. No problem re the dob, have to respect that obviously. You could maybe consider breaking the article down a bit into sub-headings more, perhaps looking at how each album has changed musically, ie from group to just him and back to group again- just an idea if you want to expand it a bit. Thanks, yeah, i did take the picture, i think it was 2006. I've always been a keen photographer, but I have shakes which means i can't usually get many good ones. For me, Nuru Kane was the best act of the festival (Africa Oyé), I really want to see him again, but unfortunately he hasn't played local since :(

Discussion on linking to streamed copies of albums

Wikipedia policy allows us to link to legal streamed copies of albums. It would be useful to draw up a guideline on how and when to link to such albums; however, there is concern that it may not be appropriate as the music would not be available in all parts of the world. Is the benefit of having access to the music for most users outweighed by the fact that some users will follow a link to find the music is not playable in their region?
