Speedy deletion nomination of Template:Outlet Collection Winnipeg

A tag has been placed on Template:Outlet Collection Winnipeg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

Outlet Collection Winnipeg

edit

Hello. I noticed that when you created Outlet Collection Winnipeg, you included a warning template that the article needs more sources. You shouldn't really need to tag your own article creations with this - rather, if you don't have sources for parts of the article's content, then it shouldn't be in the article. Also, you dated the template August 2011. Is that just because you copy-pasted it from an older article? Cordless Larry (talk) 07:29, 18 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

Hey Larry, yes I am still learning Wikipedia, but I might of accidently left the date in there, but sources are sometimes hard to find as with the Winnipeg Free Press you have to pay to view and Winnipeg Sun only gives you ten free articles to read. But I just worried about making it; like to provide as much to the world as I can! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ikeitha (talkcontribs) 07:32, 18 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

OK, but please do have a read of Wikipedia:Verifiability, which explains that our readers should be able to check that article content comes from reliable sources. If you can't find the sources, then it's best to leave the information out until you can. Cordless Larry (talk) 07:36, 18 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

Though I did leave the external links there, those were basically references, should I move those there? (Ikeitha (talk) 07:42, 18 May 2017 (UTC))Reply

The problem with those is that it is not clear which source supports which part of the article content. See Help:Referencing for beginners, which explains how to add footnote references to the text. Cordless Larry (talk) 07:43, 18 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button (  or  ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. Cordless Larry (talk) 07:41, 18 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

Adding references

edit

Thank you for this edit to Jonathan Marchessault and for helping to expand the article. I just wanted to advise that when adding anything to a biography of a living person, especially when it is under "personal life", you need to add a reference. I have gone ahead and found two references to back up your edit but just know for the future that the burden is on you to add a reference. HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 20:42, 30 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Winnipeg, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page WHL (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 09:12, 3 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

Winnipeg does not have a WHL team anymore, that is correct to get rid of it. Ikeitha (talk) 23:41, 16 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Pembina Trails Collegiate

edit

The article Pembina Trails Collegiate has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:N

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
