Speedy deletion nomination of Category:Educationists from Ghana edit

A tag has been placed on Category:Educationists from Ghana indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. If it remains empty for seven days or more, it may be deleted under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and removing the speedy deletion tag. Liz Read! Talk! 18:55, 16 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia and copyright edit

Hello Gyanford! Your additions to Matthew Kwasi Gyamfi have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably free and compatible copyright license. Please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. See also Help:Translation#License requirements.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, please ask them here on this page, or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 22:22, 28 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Seth Kwame Boateng edit

Hi, Gyanford. Please note that in biography articles, we don't refer to the subject by their forename alone throughout the article. If not mentioning the full name, then please only use the surname. So "Boateng made a documentary", not "Seth made a documentary". Otherwise, good work, the article is coming along nicely! BastunĖġáḍβáś₮ŭŃ! 11:48, 24 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for this advice. I appreciate it so much Gyanford (talk) 11:56, 24 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
Hello Bastun. Please is it possible for you to review the tags on this article? Gyanford (talk) 12:04, 24 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
Hi Gyanford. I think the awards section is possibly receiving a little too much attention, still, compared to section on notable works, but yes, tags are now removed, with a couple of copyedits to the lead. Regards, BastunĖġáḍβáś₮ŭŃ! 16:17, 24 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Kade Senior High/Technical School moved to draftspace edit

An article you recently created, Kade Senior High/Technical School, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Football Articles edit

Hello @Gyanford. I would like to commend you for creating articles related to Ghanaian football and specifically women's football. But I have some issues with the articles you are creating. They are not up to standard. Don't be in a rush to just publish articles for the sake of publishing. Look out for references that you can extract the right information from to create an interesting article.

For instance, how can you use Soccerway to back that Jaqueline Owusu speaks Twi, English and Spanish? That is the best reference for such information because Soccerway doesn't provide such information. Look at certain other articles and how they have been structured, if you don't have the reference for it, don't just add it. Also, try and edit your references well. Don't just add them generically, edit them and fill in the spaces.

It is great to have other people contributing to articles within this space. You're welcome. Happy Editing. Ampimd (talk) 10:39, 12 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Deletion discussion about Emmanuel Kwasi Debrah edit

Hello Gyanford, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

While your contributions are appreciated, I wanted to let you know that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Emmanuel Kwasi Debrah, should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Emmanuel Kwasi Debrah.

Deletion discussions usually run for seven days and are not votes. Our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. The most common issue in these discussions is notability, but it's not the only aspect that may be discussed; read the nomination and any other comments carefully before you contribute to the discussion. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Ibjaja055}}. And don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!
