Request for peer reviewEdit

Hello, it's culix here again. We spoke a few months ago about choosing audio samples for a music page.

I am humbly writing to ask: would you be willing to do a peer review?

I am still working on The Phenomenauts. I have done many copyedits and submitted a peer review request, but unfortunately no one had time to look. I have also worked to improve the section on Musical Style, to make a case for including a single audio sample on the page. Would you have time to look or give any advice?

I'm quite happy to trade peer reviews and do a review of an article of your choosing, if you wish. If you do not have time or interest, that is certainly quite fine!

Thanks for your time! --Culix (talk) 05:07, 28 November 2018 (UTC)

@Culix: Good to hear from you. I'd be more than happy to help out. I don't have any pr requests at the moment (as far as I know), so no worries there. Do you have a timeline for when you want it completed? I should be able to get to it within the week. If that works, let me know.--Gen. Quon (Talk) 14:25, 28 November 2018 (UTC)
Hey, thank you so much! I really appreciate it :) No rush and no deadlines at all. I just appreciate your time. I have been working on the article since February (with a few forced breaks inbetween), so I am not in a hurry. There are at least four items on my personal TODO list before I submit for GA. If you have any questions just let me know. --Culix (talk) 03:33, 29 November 2018 (UTC)
Okay, I made a list here of the things that I know need fixing. --Culix (talk) 04:03, 29 November 2018 (UTC)
@Culix: I was a little busier this week than expected! Is it OK if I take a look this weekend?--Gen. Quon (Talk) 14:34, 5 December 2018 (UTC)
Hey, of course. Take all the time you need. Best of luck with the schedule. --Culix (talk) 05:13, 6 December 2018 (UTC)

@Culix: Sorry about the massive delay! I finally have some free(r) time this week, and I will take a crack at the article, hopefully tomorrow.--Gen. Quon (Talk) 04:24, 26 December 2018 (UTC)

No worries at all! Thank you very much for taking a look so far, and for the suggestions and edits. I will keep working on it. --Culix (talk) 19:41, 27 December 2018 (UTC)
@Culix: I've been running around with my head cut off for the last few weeks, so I apologize on the delay. I hope to take a close look at the last part of the article in a bit.--Gen. Quon (Talk) 14:43, 17 January 2019 (UTC)
Hey, no worries at all :) Good luck with it. I touched up a few of the sentences and will continue to work as I have time. I have been able to track down a few more images that might be useful, so I will get in touch with the authors to ask for licensing. --Culix (talk) 03:39, 19 February 2019 (UTC)

It's nice when people appreciate stuff you spent a lot of time on. You'd be surprised how many similar articles I made that ended up being deleted or heavily criticized by other users. So thanks a lot! --Hyliad (d), 15:10, 26 January 2019 (CEST)

Precious anniversaryEdit

Precious

Four years!

--Gerda Arendt (talk) 06:50, 25 February 2019 (UTC)

@Gerda Arendt: Thank you so much!--Gen. Quon (Talk) 14:56, 8 March 2019 (UTC)
Thank you today for Astronomica (Manilius), about "a Latin hexameter didactic poem (probably) written by the Roman poet Marcus Manilius during the reign of Caesar Augustus or Tiberius. The five-book work describes celestial phenomena, explaining the zodiac and astrology. The poem—which seems to have been inspired by Lucretius's Epicurean poem, De rerum natura—espouses a Stoic, deterministic understanding of a universe overseen by a god and governed by reason. The work is of note for a number of reasons. First, it is seen as an answer to Lucretius's aforementioned poem. Second, it is an important window into Roman views on astrology and Stoicism. Third, it very barely made it to the present day, as only one manuscript transmitted the poem through the Middle Ages. Finally, its style is rather heady and peculiar, and its subject matter is very, very complicated and dense. These last few factors have led to it being described (rather hilariously, might I add) as "like a trigonometry texbook rendered as a Saturday New York Times crossword."! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 04:46, 18 June 2019 (UTC)
Thank you today for The Truth (The X-Files), "the final episode (technically, episodes) of the American sci-fi series The X-Files and it features the return of Fox Mulder! ... The article is comprehensive in nature, with sections on plot, production, themes, and reception."! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 07:45, 3 August 2019 (UTC)

users apologising to each otherEdit

A note on this, the automated taxobox will italic the page title, please excuse that I misunderstood what you were attempting to fix. cygnis insignis 14:52, 8 March 2019 (UTC)

@Cygnis insignis: No worries! Thanks for the note, and I do apologize I didn't leave an edit summary.--Gen. Quon (Talk) 14:56, 8 March 2019 (UTC)

I gave the section a title, sorry for forge … :-) I use page histories when I am fixing or expanding, to double check I'm not undoing something, but only make notes if it not a series of little edits that amount to a significant change at the same article. cygnis insignis 15:31, 8 March 2019 (UTC)

GA review?Edit

Hello General, How are you? That GA review you still were going to do would come in handy now... I've got a bit too many articles at WP:GAN#REL now. There are both short and long articles i've nominated.. I may not write as well as you do, but I think the copy-editing required is not that much. I'd appreciate your insights. --Farang Rak Tham (Talk) 23:48, 29 March 2019 (UTC)

Sorry about that! I've been swamped lately (my Wiki editing has slowed down, as a result). I'll try to do that this week if that works.--Gen. Quon (Talk) 15:51, 30 March 2019 (UTC)
Great, thanks!--Farang Rak Tham (Talk) 16:06, 30 March 2019 (UTC)

@Truflip99: I can try to take a look in the next few weeks, although I have been pretty swamped offline, and might not be able to get to it.--Gen. Quon (Talk) 15:19, 14 May 2019 (UTC)
Thank you! Completely understandable. Absolutely no rush. --Truflip99 (talk) 21:36, 14 May 2019 (UTC)

Big brown batEdit

Hey, thanks for helping push big brown bat across the finish line for GA! It's one of the Top 25 most popular bat articles, so I'm quite pleased :) Enwebb (talk) 18:33, 19 September 2019 (UTC)

@Enwebb: That's so awesome to hear! Right now I'm a little swamped with school work (hence why I sorta disappeared there for a bit), but in the future I'd love to work on a few more bat articles (probably something like Eastern red bat). So if you're ever up for another collab, just let me know!--Gen. Quon (Talk)
