Proposed deletion of Zombie Cow Studios

Recently uploaded cover artwork and fair use size concerns

You recently uploaded three artworks for LucasArts adventure games, File:Full Throttle artwork.jpg, File:Sam & Max Hit the Road artwork.jpg and File:The Dig artwork.jpg. I appreciate the images' clearer colours over the last ones, but I must ask you to reupload them with at a smaller size, ideally at the same 256px width of the preceding images. Our fair use criteria requires that non-free images are low resolution; at 500px, these images are needlessly double the size that they are used at in the articles. Given that you had previously uploaded a cover for Full Throttle at 300px and were reverted then for making the image unnecessarily bigger, I'm somewhat surprised you've uploaded these at an even larger ratio. I would do the size reductions myself, but current internet difficulties prevent me from uploading images. -- Sabre (talk) 01:04, 18 October 2009 (UTC)

Moving Libyan politicians pictures to commons

Would it be possible to move "File:Ali Tarhouni cropped GNC.jpg" and "File:Megariaf cropped GNC.jpg" to Commons? I'd like to use them on the French Wikipedia.

The link to do that is absent on the picture page and I don't remember how to do.

User:Dr. Blofeld has created Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/Contests. The idea is to run a series of contests/editathons focusing on each region of Africa. He has spoken to Wikimedia about it and $1000-1500 is possible for prize money. As someone who has previously expressed interest in African topics, would you be interested in contributing to one or assisting draw up core article/missing article lists? He says he's thinking of North Africa for an inaugural one in October. ArbCom Elections 2016: Voting now open!

Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

AfroCine: Join us for the Months of African Cinema in October!

AfroCine: Join the Months of African Cinema this October!

After a successful first iteration of the “Months of African Cinema” last year, we are happy to announce that it will be happening again this year, starting from October 1! In the 2018 edition of the contest, about 600 Wikipedia articles were created in at least 8 languages. There were also contributions to Wikidata and Wikimedia commons, which brought the total number of wikimedia pages created during the contest to over 1,000.
