History of the Jews in Poland edit

That article was not written solely by me, we have had other users, including Jews without ties to Poland, contributing to it and ensuring its complaince with our WP:NPOV. As you will notice on Talk:History of the Jews in Poland the article has been subject to our peer review and the much more scrutinous FAC process, were users from all around the world were invited to voice their opinons; note that all of their concerns have been addressed. As for the specific points you raise, you may want to copy them to the article's talk page (linked above) for wider discussion, but let me address them here: you claim that the 5k Righteous Among the Nations Polish people got, out of population of 35 millions is 'nothing per capita'. Setting the minor issue asside (that the population of Poland in 1945 was 23 millions due to loss of over 10 millions of citizens in the war, considering that Poland received the highest number of those medals, that the numbers of medals awarded per country drops rapidly with Belarus being just 7 positions behind Poland and having only 1/10 of the number of mdeals, and that other European countries had populations from 2-3 as big as Poland to around 1/10 of it, it means that likely no country has a per capita ratio higher then Poland. Therefore based on that date you may perhaps argue that non-Jews as general did little to help Jews, but certainly not that Poles were among the least helpful. Certainly you provide no evidence for your other changes in the article, which would make it appear, among the most helpful to the Nazis. 'Many prominent historians' is a weasel word; please quote which historians, books, pages, preferably using online databases that can be instantly verified (Google Books is pretty good for that). Take care, and welcome to Wikipedia, --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus Talk 01:16, 24 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hello there, I noticed your memo on Piotrus' talk page and wanted to respond here, but he beat me up to it and I have nothing more to add as I wouldn't have said it better myself. Anyway, welcome to Wikipedia! //Halibutt 12:20, 24 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Social activist edit

I've added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Social activist, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and "Wikipedia is not for things made up in school one day"). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree with the notice, discuss the issues at Talk:Social activist. You may remove the deletion notice, and the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached, or if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria.
