Welcome!

Hello, Diazmr.90, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on [[User talk:Jesús "Chuy" García]|my talk page]], or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Jesus “Chuy” García

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:Jesus “Chuy” García requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://chicagotonight.wttw.com/2014/10/27/commissioner-jes-s-chuy-garc-his-mayoral-run. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hi, friend

In response to your complaint at AN/I, I have restored the article Rafael Yañez and taken the matter to Articles for Deletion. The deletion debate can be found here: Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Rafael_Yañez. You will need to demonstrate that Mr. Yañez has been covered substantially in multiple published sources of presumed reliability independently of his current political campaign for this piece to be ruled a "Keep" at Articles for Deletion. See: WP:GNG. At a glance I do not think this is possible, but you do have 7 days to make the attempt. If you can find 2 very good biographical sources about him I will be happy to withdraw the nomination or to vote to keep the piece (although it is in need of MAJOR work to eliminate the unencyclopedic campaign fluff tone even if kept). Just leave a message for me on my talk page. Sorry that you've run into problems with your editing, but campaign advertising type pieces are strongly frowned upon at Wikipedia. As for the Chuy Garcia piece, that was clearly wrongly nominated for speedy deletion and will not be deleted if challenged at AfD, the difference being that he is an elected Chicago alderman, which will be regarded as sufficient to pass the WP:POLITICIAN special notability high bar. Best regards, —Tim Davenport, Corvallis, OR /// ShoeHutch@gmail.com /// Carrite (talk) 11:57, 28 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

I missed the fact that the Garcia piece was rung up on Copyright Violation rather than Notability grounds. That, of course, is another matter altogether. Presumably that has been resolved. Thanks for your work on Wikipedia, by the way, I suggest that you might want to edit a few things unrelated to current politics to help get acclimated to the site. You might find a piece that I started, William E. Rodriguez, an interesting project to work on, for example. Carrite (talk) 12:04, 28 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Rafael Yañez

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Rafael Yañez, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

Your draft article, Draft:Jesus "Chuy" Garcia

edit

Hello, Diazmr.90. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "Jesus "Chuy" Garcia".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by one of two methods (don't do both): 1) follow the instructions at WP:REFUND/G13, or 2) copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Draft:Jesus "Chuy" Garcia}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, and click "Save page". An administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Calliopejen1 (talk) 20:10, 1 July 2015 (UTC)Reply
