Captain symbol? edit

Can I as why you are adding the "Bullet for New York City Subway C service" as a captains symbol rather than simply following the established convention of simply saying captain on team pages? Before continuing with this I recommend starting a discussion about it at the Village Pump. srushe (talk) 14:55, 30 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of David Groves edit

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article David Groves, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Unsourced, non-notable BLP

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. AfD nomination of List of future football stars edit

I have nominated List of future football stars, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of future football stars. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Mr. Vernon (talk) 20:17, 15 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

  • I have almost speedily closed the debate and deleted the article; but in the end I decided that I had bypassed the speedy deletion criteria enough times and that this debate should be allowed to run for at least some time. That said, there's no way this article belongs to Wikipedia - you can never know who will become a "star" in the future, so the page constitutes nothing but speculation. (Wikipedia is not a crystal ball.) And please don't remove the deletion tag from the page - as long as the page is being considered for deletion, the notice must stay on the article. (This is unlike the proposed deletion process.) If you accept that Wikipedia shouldn't have the article, you can request its deletion by markig it with {{db-author}}. - Mike Rosoft (talk) 20:58, 15 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Richard Dreyfuss edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, adding content without citing a reliable source, as you did to Richard Dreyfuss, is not consistent with our policy of verifiability. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you are familiar with Wikipedia:Citing sources, please take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. (Diff) Nightscream (talk) 19:07, 20 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Cyprus national under-18 football team edit

Hello Deliboo24,

Speedy deletion nomination of Belgium national under-16 football team edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Belgium national under-16 football team requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), web content or organised event, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. GiantSnowman 19:54, 19 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion".
