Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Maitreya Festival, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Strawberry Fields and Subsonic. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Removed "Controversy over East Timor" section and content

Hi there - please respond at Talk:Paul Keating#Removed "Controversy over East Timor" section and content - sorry to do so and sorry for all the guideline linking considering your wikipedia tenure, but as per my revert edit summary, a) see Wikipedia:Controversy sections b) was attempting integration of content but on doing found it included significant Suharto/East Timor content not directly involving Keating, made significant controversial allegations requiring solid peer-reviewed WP:REFs, but generally overall seemed against WP:NPOV, WP:BALANCE, WP:BLP and WP:NEUTRAL. In the end I failed to salvage any of it (kept the prior East Timor content of course, which to me does seem to be about right in terms of article WP:WEIGHT) but happy to discuss at Talk:Paul Keating#Removed "Controversy over East Timor" section and content if you wish to pursue a WP:CONSENSUS to re-add your content in an altered form. Timeshift (talk) 14:59, 26 April 2016 (UTC)

I still don't see how you could add more than the current existing East Timor content to this article without it becoming a clear WP:POVFORK with WP:WEIGHT issues. Instead of another add and revert, I would strongly encourage bringing your proposed additional East Timor content to this talk section first to see if there's any chance of it gaining WP:CONSENSUS traction. Until then, Timeshift (talk) 05:24, 27 April 2016 (UTC)

Still massive issues, WP:WEIGHT for starters - what rises East Timor above any other Keating-era area of discussion that it should elevate above all others to get its own section, and have an additional 3 lengthy paragraphs - very WP:POVFORK. And that's just the tip of the iceberg. I already said theres no WP:CONSENSUS for your disputed change to the status quo, and to take proposals to this talk page so it can be worked out without starting an edit war. Remember that the onus is on you to get consensus for your disputed change from status quo and that the status quo is what is kept until such time as a new consensus might be found. Edit: Re-add due to edit conflict and re-revert. DO NOT EDIT WAR. Your change from the status quo is disputed so you cannot re-add it, the onus is not on me, it is on you. You have been around for a decade, you should know which way WP:CONSENSUS works. Cease your edit warring NOW or your actions will be escalated to admins. I've been very tolerant until now but my patience is wearing extremely thin now. You are all kinds of wrong. Stop edit warring or get banned. Timeshift (talk) 09:12, 27 April 2016 (UTC)

Notability in Knight's Cross Holder articles

Hi, since you participated in an AfD discussion that involved this topic, I'm letting you know that I started a discussion at Wikipedia talk:Notability (people)#Notability in Knight's Cross Holder Articles -- to see if the issue can be dealt on a systemic basis, rather than one off AfDs.

One of the suggestions I got was to see if an RfC may need to be formulated, so I'm seeking input into this potential RfC or other possible ways to address the notability concern in similar articles. K.e.coffman (talk) 04:42, 19 July 2016 (UTC)

Formal mediation has been requested

The Mediation Committee has received a request for formal mediation of the dispute relating to "War of 1812". As an editor concerned in this dispute, you are invited to participate in the mediation. Mediation is a voluntary process which resolves a dispute over article content by facilitation, consensus-building, and compromise among the involved editors. After reviewing the request page, the formal mediation policy, and the guide to formal mediation, please indicate in the "party agreement" section whether you agree to participate. Because requests must be responded to by the Mediation Committee within seven days, please respond to the request by 13 September 2016.

Discussion relating to the mediation request is welcome at the case talk page. Thank you.

War of 1812

Hi, I just wanted to say that I have read the latest threads on this and I would like to congratulate you on your efforts to combat the ongoing militant attitude of certain editors. I think you have argued your points very well and ask that you please don't lose heart. --Godwhale (talk) 19:15, 1 October 2016 (UTC)

Thanks for the response. I've just run into pretty much the same attitude. You only have to look at the article on the American revolution, which claims an 'American victory' regardless of the involvement of France, Spain and the Dutch. Having posted a fair bit of additional background & sources on the 1812 article the attitude seems to be one of 'we're not interested, we are happy with it as it is and will fight to keep it that way' I think the main problem is Rjensen. He twists facts like no one I have ever met and seems to get his way through sheer persistence. Have you ever visited Conservapedia? If not you should for the sheer comedy value alone, to see its articles on things like 'liberal claptrap' etc, which don't even pretend to be neutral. I did a while back and the articles there on the American revolution, War of 1812 etc are written by an editor also called Rjensen. Its clear by reading the talk pages its the same person. Conservapedia was launched about 10 years ago by people who considered Wikipedia 'too liberal and anti-American'. So although WP is rife with unbelievably pro-US bias its still not biased enough for them. Its clear by editing for the site where Rjensen fits on the political spectrum. It seems strange that someone with such proven non-neutral attitudes can be allowed to edit WP.--Godwhale (talk) 07:52, 3 October 2016 (UTC)

is there anything I can do to support your arbitration?--Godwhale (talk) 10:28, 3 October 2016 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Hollywood Ashes

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Hollywood Ashes requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organized event (tour, function, meeting, party, etc.), but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

March Madness 2017

G'day all, please be advised that throughout March 2017 the Military history Wikiproject is running its March Madness drive. This is a backlog drive that is focused on several key areas:

  • tagging and assessing articles that fall within the project's scope
  • updating the project's currently listed A-class articles to ensure their ongoing compliance with the listed criteria
  • creating articles that are listed as "requested" on the project's various task force pages or other lists of missing articles.

As with past Milhist drives, there are points awarded for working on articles in the targeted areas, with barnstars being awarded at the end for different levels of achievement.

The drive is open to all Wikipedians, not just members of the Military history project, although only work on articles that fall (broadly) within the military history scope will be considered eligible. More information can be found here for those that are interested, and members can sign up as participants at that page also.

The drive starts at 00:01 UTC on 1 March and runs until 23:59 UTC on 31 March 2017, so please sign up now.

For the Milhist co-ordinators. Regards, AustralianRupert (talk) & MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 07:24, 26 February 2017 (UTC)
