editHello Daisy Katz. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.
Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.
Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Daisy Katz. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Daisy Katz|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}
. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. 331dot (talk) 08:13, 11 August 2022 (UTC)
- Hi there, 331dot
- Sorry, I'm new to this.
- No I don't work for any of the Taiwanese companies I edited. I have friends at eMemory does that count? I was pulling information from some things from their site and just some general web searches. Mainly I was just annoyed by the poor quality content for some of these companies over here online and outdated information online.
- I didn't finish the references when you messaged me. Can you add this one for me? I dont know how to add references to
- https://www.ememory.com.tw/Content/Upload/files/20220524170002.pdf Daisy Katz (talk) 09:02, 11 August 2022 (UTC)
I have moved the text to draft space because the sources are not appropriate. A Wikipedia article about a company must summarize what independent reliable sources with significant coverage have chosen on their own to say about the company, showing how it meets the special Wikipedia definition of a notable company. The sources you offered are the company website, an interview with the CEO, and a reporting of business statistics, none of which establish notability. Please read Your First Article. If you work for or are associated with this company, please read about conflict of interest and paid editing for information on required formal disclosures. 331dot (talk) 08:13, 11 August 2022 (UTC)
- Having friends at the company could be a conflict of interest; please review that page. As I say above, I have just moved the draft into Draft space where you can work on it without the general public's eyes on it(where it would be treated more harshly) until you are ready to submit it for review by an independent editor. The company website cannot be used to establish notability. 331dot (talk) 09:04, 11 August 2022 (UTC)
- So in the future, should I work on the draft page first? Sorry I was following a tutorial on YouTube.
- OK, to be clear, I 'know' people in eMemory, as I do in several other companies around Hsinchu, where I live. But that's like knowing someone working for Ford and living in Detroit. I'm interested in this topic, that's why I tried to make the page. Anyway, I want to make some more pages, so I will follow the guidelines you shared (I'm reading them right now).
- As for the eMemory one, I was basing it on the type of links for this one... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andes_Technology, which references its own site and some online journals. Is that OK? Do I need more references? Daisy Katz (talk) 09:28, 11 August 2022 (UTC)
- btw. I do have a bunch of Newbie Questions,
- Can I ask you? is there a community board or anything to go to? Daisy Katz (talk) 09:32, 11 August 2022 (UTC)
- You can ask me, but you might get quicker replies if you ask at the Teahouse. I participate there as well, but it's also good to get other viewpoints and not just mine. 331dot (talk) 09:55, 11 August 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks, I'll check it out tonight :) Daisy Katz (talk) 10:03, 11 August 2022 (UTC)

I moved your article...
edit... to Draft:WPG Holdings because the references do not qualify to verify notability. English Wikipedia has a strict standard. See WP:NCORP for companies. Also, if you are translating an article from a Wikipedia for another language, describe what you did in your Edit summary. David notMD (talk) 05:16, 12 August 2022 (UTC)
- Ok got it, thanks Daisy Katz (talk) 07:53, 12 August 2022 (UTC)
