Orphaned non-free media (Image:Pain 3DG.jpg) edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Pain 3DG.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 15:15, 9 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair use disputed for Image:Black stone cherry cd.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Black stone cherry cd.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 23:20, 13 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Please use edit summaries edit

I have noticed that you often edit without an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This is considered an important guideline in Wikipedia. Even a short summary is better than no summary. An edit summary is even more important if you delete any text; otherwise, people may think you're being sneaky. Also, mentioning one change but not another one can be misleading to someone who finds the other one more important; add "and misc." to cover the other change(s). Thanks! One-X Singles edit

I see you have added a few singles to the chronology on One-X. I removed these because I couldn't find any source for them and it's very unlikely that they would have three future singles already planned. I might be wrong about Riot though. Please tell me if you have any sources that can be added and I will put those singles back up, but for now they're gone. Thank you. Tim Y (talk) 15:10, 27 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Again, you've put Riot up as the next single for One-X, but you have not provided a source. I won't remove it but it should have a source. Tim Y (talk) 21:41, 27 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Just because it's played on radio stations and such doesn't always mean it's a single, and that still doesn't count as a source. A source is a reliable website containing information that it is a single. You have none there and it is going to be removed eventually unless a good source is found. 22:25, 27 October 2007 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tim62389 (talkcontribs)

Re: This Suffering edit

I realize this, and that's why I haven't marked it for deletion yet. But the key word is "SUPPOSEDLY". We have to follow policy, specifically WP:V, so if you can find a website or a link to the video that says it is a single, this will be fine. Until then, I'm keeping an eye on it. -- Reaper X 22:14, 30 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of By The Way (Theory of a Deadman song) edit

A tag has been placed on By The Way (Theory of a Deadman song) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. gracz54 (talk) 13:58, 20 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Betterthanme.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Betterthanme.jpg. You've indicated that the image meets Wikipedia's criteria for non-free content, but there is no explanation of why it meets those criteria. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. If you have any questions, please post them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.

Thank you for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 03:26, 22 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Image copyright problem with Image:Hello lonely (waft).jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Hello lonely (waft).jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Capricorn (A Brand New Name).jpg) edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Capricorn (A Brand New Name).jpg.

Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:12, 10 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia is not a web host edit

Please see Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not. Wikipedia is not your personal web host:

Your user page is not a personal homepage, nor is it a blog. More importantly, your user page is not yours. It is a part of Wikipedia, and exists to make collaboration among Wikipedians easier, not for self-promotion. See User page help for current consensus guidelines on user pages.

You've created quite a number of pages that have nothing to do with creating, editing or improving Wikipedia articles. These need to be removed:

I'm giving you a chance to save all of this information locally and blank them out before I nominate them for deletion at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion. Thanks. - eo (talk) 02:37, 27 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Pursuant to the above: this page was brought to Miscellany for Deletion, here. The result of that discussion was "No consensus for deletion"; therefore, the pages remain, for the time being. Regards, Lazulilasher (talk) 04:11, 18 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Disputed non-free use rationale for Image:How you remind video.jpg edit

Thank you for uploading Image:How you remind video.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stifle (talk) 16:59, 22 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for File:I83830aded3.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:I83830aded3.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Courcelles 05:25, 30 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

License tagging for File:Living in a dream.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Living in a dream.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 00:07, 13 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie edit

Mainstream Rock Tracks data is now used for Rock Songs and has been since 2009. Mainstream Rock Tracks no longer is considered a legit chart and has been a chart only subscibers to Billboard.com can see meaning you have to pay to get access for it. The data from that chart is now combined and officially used in Rock Songs. Billboard.com no longer acknowledges Mainstream Rock Tracks as an actual/legit chart in their print edition or website. As you can clearly see below for the Red Hot Chili Peppers current chart listing, where the single sits at #1 only the data from Rock Songs is used and considered legit. If you do a google search for Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks the link you get is for Rock Songs.

http://www.billboard.com/charts/rock-songs#/song/red-hot-chili-peppers/the-adventures-of-rain-dance-maggie/25685227

Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks was published in the print edition of Billboard for the last time in its July 26, 2003, issue. The chart is still compiled, but it is only available through the magazine's website. The chart could be accessed free until June 2009, when it became subscriber-only. At that time, a new chart named Rock Songs was introduced that combined the data from Mainstream Rock with that from Alternative and Triple A.

Jason1978 (talk) 05:53, 8 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

Billboard changes their chart names all the time. Hot 100 Airplay is now called Radio Songs. Mainstream Rock Tracks data is now used in Rock Songs. Unless you subscribe and pay to be a member of Billboard.com you have no way of seeing the Mainstream Rock Tracks which is why Billboard created Rock Songs in 2009. The previous chart data was for Mainstream Rock Tracks but now the name and data has been switched to Rock Songs as of 09. Go to Billboard's website and provide a link to this chart because all links lead you directly to the Rock Songs chart, the official chart Billbboard now goes by. The previous link to this chart listing provided saying the song was #5 led directly to the same link I just posted in my previous response. --Jason1978 (talk) 11:23, 8 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click the "Edit" tab at the top of the page and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 02:06, 10 December 2011 (UTC)Reply
