Thank you, Naturista2018 (talk) 13:43, 22 July 2019 (UTC)

Naturista2018 Greetings. Just add at least 3 independent, reliable sources (inline citation which support the contain claimed) such as from major newspaper which the sources talk directly about the subject. Sources can be in any languages and see referencing for info and instructions of how to provide inline citation. Let me know if you need further assistance. Cheers. Please create a redirect from Juan Arévalo Gardoqui and Juan Gardoqui to Juan Arevalo Gardoqui. I don't know how to do this. Actually, the version with the accent is better. GenericWikipedian19 (talk) 17:04, 22 July 2019 (UTC)

Hi GenericWikipedian19 Greetings. Changed article name to Juan Arévalo Gardoqui. Juan Gardoqui and Juan Arevalo Gardoqui have been redirected to Juan Arévalo Gardoqui - see [8] and [9]. Can I also get Draft:Marcelino Iñurreta de la Fuente approved (with redirects from Marcelino Iñurreta and Marcelino Inurreta)? GenericWikipedian19 (talk) 20:36, 23 July 2019 (UTC)
GenericWikipedian19 Greetings. From the text, he should be notable, but since the sources are from books and I could not able to loacate the sources to verity the content claimed, would you pls provide source in digital form (fr web and it can be in any languages) where by the sources indicate he is a Brigadier General or Senator from Tabasco or director of national intelligence agency in Mexico for approval and do the redirect for you after. Cheers. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 05:26, 24 July 2019 (UTC)
This identifies him as a Brigadier General, this identifies him as the founding director of the DFS, and this identifies him as a Senator from Tabasco. GenericWikipedian19 (talk) 07:35, 24 July 2019 (UTC)
Hi GenericWikipedian19 Thank you for the sources. Reviewed and here is the article - Marcelino Iñurreta de la Fuente. Done redirect - see here-1] and here-2. Thank you for your contribution and happy editing. Cheers. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 08:05, 24 July 2019 (UTC)

double redirect

Hey, I think you just added a double redirect to a page I was in the process of editing Kai Kara-France (fighter) > Kai Kara-France > The Ultimate Fighter: Tournament of Champions. I just noticed the page was initially added as a redirect in January because he wasn't deemed notable, but this is a guy who is ranked #11 now in the UFC. Connorcp (talk) 09:08, 24 July 2019 (UTC)

Connorcp Greetings. For MMA fighter to deem notable, fighter needs at least 3 fight in top tier promotion (UFC/Invicta) - see WP:MMABIO. Kara-France has fought 2 times and the third is schedule on UFC on ESPN+ 15 on 31 August. Cheers. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 09:15, 24 July 2019 (UTC)
I understand, I thought maybe because he was ranked and had previously competed in The Ultimate Fighter: Tournament of Champions and the Rizin World Grand Prix 2016: 2nd Round he would be notable enough. I was under the impression Rizin was a top tier promotion in accordance to Wiki but was mistaken. Connorcp (talk) 09:28, 24 July 2019 (UTC)

Messages on page

Hi there, I will do with the sources however they are all sourced on the UFC Now draft which should be approved pretty soon. I'm a great contributor to Wikipedia and work very hard sourcing articles and working on them for a while now so saying about the whole block thing I think is a bit out of order, I don't really appreciate that. The only reason they're not sourced at the moment is because they are on the UFC Now draft which should be approved soon (this has been pending since March however it's a very popular established TV show from the UFC programming so is a given), however this is why they were updated on the other pages ready for this. Thanking you kindly in advance. Music Editor 2017 (talk) 14:12, 24 July 2019 (UTC)

Music Editor 2017 Greetings. That is only my advice for I did not review the page this time. It is normal for reviewers to leave comment on draft pages to the creator or other reviewers. Even if a article is approved and not mater how long it has been existedin Wikipedia, and if any editor deems the article fails the notability guidelines for stand alone article, they could nominate the article for deletion/merge/redirect/draftify and only articles that truely pass notability will stay in Wikipedia for good. Secondly "'All content must be verifiable. The burden to demonstrate verifiability lies with the editor who adds or restores material, and it is satisfied by providing an inline citation to a reliable source that directly supports the contribution' - see WP:PROVEIT. Content added without source can be removed from article. Lastly, Wikipedia article can NOT be the source - see WP:CIRCULAR, thus regardless if the draft article is approved or not, the article can not be used for source and trivial info even would be supported by independent reliable source does not mean inclusion. Let me know if there is any assistance needed. Thank you. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 03:07, 25 July 2019 (UTC)

Your enquire.

Good morning, thank you for your message. Unfortunately I will not be able to follow up any work with Draft:SuperTed Home releases, page. I've moved the content out of the main SuperTed page as it was overpowering that page. I have no will or care to deal with this draft page but needed to get the problem noticed by higher body.   However if you do believe there is some justification for the content I would happy ping some users which many were ISP to do such work. Thank you for your hard work. --Crazyseiko (talk) 09:08, 26 July 2019 (UTC)

Crazyseiko Good day. To me, it would be hard to find sources from independent, reliable published article to talk about them in dept and in length for the subject to pass the notability guidelines. You may try if you want. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 09:16, 26 July 2019 (UTC)

Sources for Draft:University of Ottawa Students' Union deemed not independent, despite being completely separate from, and not associated with, the UOSU

Hello,

My request to create a page was recently declined because sources were deemed not independent.

I am confused, because the sources provided (namely The Fulcrum, the independent newspaper; the University of Ottawa, the administration which is completely independent from UOSU; and some sources from the UOSU website which, granted, are not independent) are similar to those on the Wikipedia page of the previous union, the SFUO (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Student_Federation_of_the_University_of_Ottawa).

Why is it that the sources on the SFUO page that come from The Fulcrum, the University of Ottawa and the SFUO website are deemed admissible and were published, yet these same/comparable sources on the UOSU page were not deemed admissible?

Could you clarify what makes you believe that the independent newspaper The Fulcrum and the independent University of Ottawa administration are associated with the subject? Because the bodies are completely separate and have no bearing on one another.

Thanks,

Joryson — Preceding unsigned comment added by Joryson (talkcontribs) 03:15, July 27, 2019 (UTC)

Hi Joryson Good day. I have placed an additional comment on the draft page Draft:University of Ottawa Students' Union besides the "grey panel" message atop of the page. For a page to be merit a page in Wikipedia mainspace, the subject needs to be notable and the content claimed needs to be supported by significant coverage by published independent, reliable source where by the sources talk about the subject in length and in dept and not passing mentioned to satisfy the content policy. The sources you provided from the "Falcrum", "media.uottawa.ca", ".uosu-seuo.com" are all associated with the subject for such they are not independent sources. The only source which is independent and reliable is "ottawacitizen.com". As per above mentioned, we need "significant coverage", one source is not considered significant coverage. Non independent and not reliable sources such as official web site, home page, interviews, user generated sites, sites associated/affliated with the subject, press releases and etc can NOT be used to demonstrate and contribute to the notability requirement needed, they could only be supplement for addition information for the article.
Do note as per WP:OSE of why there are many article which are not up to Wikipedia requirements existed in the mainspace and we have about 1 billion article which is low in quality/not notable exist in mainspace where by we the volunteers, Wikipedians, are working 24/7 in all part of the world to either improve the article or to nominated the article for deletion. Any articles, not matter how long it is existed in Wikipedia, will be nominated for deletion by any interested editor if they think the article does not pass the notability guidelines. Even if the result of the nomination is a "keep", the article still could be nominated for deletion unlimited about of them. Only articles truely pass the notability guidelines of Wikipedia will stay for good. Let me know if anything else I could help. GSP and DP

Then ya might as well take off FOTN and POTN from the records table too, considering it's in the achievements section and all. Also if you looked properly you would've seen that i corrected the Poirier edit. Cdneh95 (talk) 15:55, 23 July 2019 (UTC)

Cdneh95 Greetings. Thank you for informing and i have left the message from you talk page since you corrected the edit it immediately. Do note, the FOTN and POTN is as per the fight of the promoter of the fight of the day it is taken place. For such info traditionally would be recorded in the note section. Ass for other "media" or organisation awards, which were awarded after the fight (months later) will be recorded in the achievements & championships section. See - this where a regular mma editor removing the info from fight table; see - Daniel Cormier, Conor McGregor, Rose Namajunas or any mma fighter page and you will see the the awards by media or other organisation is stated in the achievements/championships section and some also mentioned in the body text section. Let me know if anything else I could help. Cheers. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 03:53, 24 July 2019 (UTC)
Were his consecutive title defense records not set on the night of the fight? I'm not sure what you're getting at here. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cdneh95 (talkcontribs) 23:27, 24 July 2019 (UTC)
Cdneh95 note section indicated defended of the title. Achievement section indicated how many times of the title won. You could check any of the MMA fighter articles and have a look. Please remember to sign your posts on talk pages by typing four tildes (~~~~).. Thank you. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 02:29, 25 July 2019 (UTC)
Yeah and im saying FOTN and POTN are both mentioned in the note section and achievements section, so why can't his title defense records — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cdneh95 (talkcontribs) 02:41, 25 July 2019 (UTC)
Cdneh95 Hi it is because FOTN and POTN are both the award of the fight of the night/day award which is directedly relate to the promotion/bout of the fight. They are recorded (sames as if it is a championship title won) in the achievements section because it is part of achievement and the championship of the fighter. While other awards are given after the fight date (months later) when the media review all the fights of the year and award the bonus and they are not the awards/achievements/championship titles given by the promotion of the fight. Title defenses are stated in the note section and number of title win is on the achievement section. As always, the note section is about that particular fight of that particular promotion at that particular event of that particular 'method' - in short every is stated in "that particular" fight of the event & promoter. Pls check all the fighter page to see the info stated. Please remember to sign your posts on talk pages by typing four tildes (~~~~)..Thank you. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 01:51, 27 July 2019 (UTC)
I think you're misunderstanding what i'm saying. What I edited into the notes section wasn't regarding title defenses nor number of titles won. It was regarding GSP breaking a previously set consecutive title defense record and further extending that record. Go back to his page and look at my edits you reverted. I hope this clears things up. Cdneh95 (talk) 09:43, 28 July 2019 (UTC)
Cdneh95 The information , as explain a few times, should states in the achievement section and not on note section, not by fight by fight but accumulative. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 10:50, 28 July 2019 (UTC)
A consecutive title defense record is achieved on that "particular fight of that particular promotion at that particular event". Previous record was 5 so starting from his 6th title defense fight and onwards, he is setting a new record fight by fight. That record is set at that fight on that night. Cdneh95 (talk) 14:32, 28 July 2019 (UTC)
Cdneh95 Fight would usually state xx fighter defense their title and not state consecutive defense title fights. Those thing would put on achievement section. I have explained many times and have nothing to add as I just repeat myself and answering the same question. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 14:42, 28 July 2019 (UTC)

An athlete of PNG (triple gold-medalist at Pacific Games)

Dear Cassiopeia,

As your name indicates it, you should be aware that Cassiopeia is a beautiful constellation in the northern sky, named after the vain and arrogant queen Cassiopeia, queen of Æthiopia, in Greek mythology, who boasted about her unrivaled beauty. Because I spent many nights looking with a telescope 🔭 at the W-shape of these stars, Cassiopeia is a fair and nice name for my eyes.

But I come here not to speak about the unrivaled beauty of Cassiopeia, but of an obscure athlete of Papua New Guinea, Poro Gahekave, former student at South Plains College Levelland, TX (USA), and now at Lubbock Christian University (TX), and since 2007, member of Papua New Guinea National Team, Port Moresby.

Her complete results and performances as a runner could be seen here:

Of course, this is a PRIMARY Source, but everything is exact about her;

Her importance could be confirmed here, by Athletics Oceania, the continental federation:

  • [10] (also a Primary Source);

But of course many articles, often very short and quite short as it is always the case in the poor countries of the Pacific region. Here is the Post Courier of Port Moresby:

  • [11] (Secondary Source).

This one is quite longer:

You have recently put this stub into a Draft, because it was undersourced.

Do you need that I also put the official results of Athletics at the 2019 Pacific Games? She won there 3 individual Gold medals. As you could think or imagine, even if you are not a great specialist or an amateur of Athletics, very few people won 3 Gold in only one competition (another PNG Athlete did the same exploit).

Of course, to tell you the entire truth, the Pacific Games are not the Olympics or a World Championships (A Category), but only a B-Category International meeting (IAAF says), so Poro Gahekave will never be a winner internationally known, as Usain Bolt. The articles and sources will be always poor and difficult to find.

But even if the truth is this one, the Pacific Games have been seen on TV (yes, the Pacific Islanders maybe look at tv programs, and the Athletics competition have been transmitted in more than 20 states of Oceania. Live. All the people of PNG that look at television knows about their . Even if she is not very beautiful (as Cassiopeia) and even not so strong (as an athlete!). Only 3 Gold medals in that competition (and many more since she was only 14-years old, in 2007, another Gold at Pacific Games). This kind of performance is quite rare.

If I have created this article, it is only because it was already requested. It was a red link in more than 10 other pages. If I have created this stub, it was just for sharing with more readers, what this runner 🏃‍♀️ could be for a curious reader that would like to know who is she.

But because, it is the second time that you consider that this article was undersourced, I have no more the will to improve or even try to improve any other article of Wikipedia.

Sometimes, when at night you stare at the stars, you do not want to modify their brightness or their positions in the sky 🌌.

I know perfectly that you have done that for improving the article. Just understand my own point of vue. Probably, our thoughts are less different than it could be.

Thank you for replying here. Yours sincerely,

-Binbaksa (talk) 20:04, 27 July 2019 (UTC)

Binbaksa G'day. You know your Greek mythology. Yes Cassiopeia boasted her daughter, Andromeda, was more beautiful than the Nereid, the sea nymphs, which angered their father, Poseidon, the Sea God, and he sent the sea monster, Cetus, to destroy her kingdom. Andromeda was made to scarify to the Cetus and was rescued by Perseus, the son of Zeus and the mortal Danae, who passed by the region after capture Madusa's head, and slew the sea monster. Andromeda married Perseus and Cassiopedia was punished by Poseidon and hung in the sky, spinning among the start for eternity. Cassiopeia (constellation) is a circumpolar constellation which could be seen year round in the northern sky. One spots Cassiopeia, then the northern star could bee seen near by and you can find you way home, but to me Messier 45 / M45 /Pelaides is a more beautiful star clusters which could be seen with the naked eyes in the night sky.
Ok back to Draft:Poro Gahekave. She is a an indoor track runner (800m,1500m,500m and 3,000m). If you look at the notability requirement WP:NTRACK, I could not find any criteria that she meets. If she is a road runner than she might meet road runner criteria#2 if you would provide the sources for it. What you would do is try to expand the content and find more sources to support the qualification for general nobility guidelines and resubmit. I will let other reviewers to do the review. Let me know if anything else I could help. Cheers. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 12:28, 28 July 2019 (UTC)
She is NOT an “indoor” but an outdoor runner (except for few US competitions recently). She won at least 5 medals at Pacific Games (outdoor), not including the Oceania Championships and the Mini Games. I am quite afraid that your knowledge of Greek myths is much better than the world of athletics (of the Pacific)… — Preceding unsigned comment added by Binbaksa (talkcontribs) 23:35, July 28, 2019 (UTC)
Binbaksa I am a runner. I competed in track and field during my teenager years and run a number of half-marathons (Sydney Morning Herald Half Marathon) in my adult life but unfortunately, I am not familiar with Oceanic/South Pacific races. If you could find sources for her road races which the sources stated the races were broadcaster in a few countries/Pacific or South Pacific region, that would pass road race runner criteria#2. Cheers. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 14:04, 28 July 2019 (UTC)

Dorsland tree

Hi Cassiopeia, I did a bit of work on Draft:Dorsland tree after you placed it in the draft space some time ago now. I've found as many sources as I can and worked up as much as possible. For my mind it would maybe just pass review but was keen for your opinion (especially now that I have some emotional attachment). Best regards and keep up the good work . Hughesdarren (talk) 12:40, 28 July 2019 (UTC)

Hughesdarren Hi Good day. I have added a few sources. Click the submit button and let me know if you want to to review and place it on the mainspace. By the way, sources can be in any languages and if you know any African languages and would find the sources that add them in. Cheers. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 15:18, 28 July 2019 (UTC)

Short descriptions

Hi there, I have just started using the Shortdesc helper. I was wondering if there was a specific task that I could do (maybe a category that needs short descriptions) to help out the Wikiproject. I am asking you as I noticed your were very active in the Wikiproject. Regards, Willbb234 (talk) 09:46, 29 July 2019 (UTC)

Willbb234 G'day. I am delighted to hear that you would like to help out on Shortdesc (sd), any extra pair of hands to help Wikipedia is always welcome. First pls have a read on Wikipedia:Short description if you havent and secondly do check out Shordesc WikiProject - see Wikipedia:WikiProject Short descriptions. Do join the project by just place you name down on "Join the project" section. As you might know every article needs a sd with recommendation of 40 characters but if sd cant fit into 40 characters then intelligibility in preference to brevity.
You could help on however you want, from watchlist, or a WikiProject's articles, or a category or when you notice an article needs a sd. I work from category and primary on sport category, starting with combat sports and every sub categories of the parent categories. To me it would be much easier to track which category of which articles what I have placed the sd in systematically fashion. Currently we have about 1.05 billion articles with sd and we still have 4.5 billion to go, a long way to get them done.
Another script which I highly recommendation you to get is mw.loader.load("//www.wikidata.org/w/index.php?title=User:Yair rand/WikidataInfo.js&action=raw&ctype=text/javascript");. The script allows the Wikidata description to be copied or copied and then edited into article's sd if the Wikidata sd is correctly description the article (Note Wikidata info do suffer from vandalism). I hope the above help and let me know if anything else I could help. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 11:24, 29 July 2019 (UTC)
Ok, thanks a lot. I will get on with that. I'll have a stab at - just a random category I found which looks easy enough. Regards, Willbb234 (talk) 11:52, 29 July 2019 (UTC)
Willbb234 Welcome and happy editing. Cheers. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 11:59, 29 July 2019 (UTC)

I'm not sure what to do about his article creation. His edit warring here[12] worries me, see my commenta at Talk:Tomb of Artaxerxes III. What he was doing was making our coverage worse. All the discussion on his talk page seem to have no effect. Doug Weller talk 12:09, 29 July 2019 (UTC)

Doug Weller Good day. They does not seem to care about multiple independent reliable sources are needed to support the content claimed or adhere to Wikipedia content policy. As a reviewer I encounter many editors of such. For those subject I am familiar, I would find web sources to support per existing content but for their creation sources are better to be sourced from book or the local newspapers/journals. I am not sure what you asked of me but I share the same concern as yours. I have provided info and links to the editor in hope they would pick up the advice and do what is needed. If 3RR is violated, a short ban can be imposed and communicate with the editor could be established. Cheers. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 13:21, 29 July 2019 (UTC)

Francis Ngannou

Hi CASSIOPEIA,

In the following discussion, the user Bender235:

  1. has refused to discuss in good faith and has repeatedly left me out of discussion (even after I specifically asked the user not to).
  2. has improperly invoked Third Opinion (discussion was ongoing and not thoroughly discussed). Then user refused to notify me again and deleted the content altogether without allowing me to respond. (WP:DISCUSSFAIL)
  3. has ignored the independent, reliable party sources I provided in the discussion which confirm the punching power measurements published by the UFC as being scientifically reliable, and valid, as well as having sufficient weight to be included in this article (per WP:NPOV, WP:BESTSOURCES, WP:V and WP:NOR).
  4. and has persistently edit warred - the user's latest edit on the article seems to be a clear violation of WP:CCPOL (as third opinion doesn't supersede Wikipedia's Core Content Policies).

Please advise. --Retrofan781 (talk) 12:24, 30 July 2019 (UTC)
