Clyde managers edit

Hi, I've noticed that you've been the most consistent editor of the Clyde F.C. article over the last wee while - good work btw - and was wondering if I might ask a question about the Bully Wee. I'm adding in team details for finals to Category:Scottish Cup seasons at the moment and haven't been able to find out who Clyde's manager was at the time of the 1958 final. I'm presuming Paddy Travers had left by that time. If you have any Clyde sources or could provide any help it would be much appreciated. Cheers. Caledonian Place 12:21, 19 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of Image:Bouadji.JPG edit

A tag has been placed on Image:Bouadji.JPG requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on [[ Talk:Image:Bouadji.JPG|the talk page]] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Oxford Wikimania 2010 and Wikimedia UK v2.0 Notice edit

Hi,

As a regularly contributing UK Wikipedian, we were wondering if you wanted to contribute to the Oxford bid to host the 2010 Wikimania conference. Please see here for details of how to get involved, we need all the help we can get if we are to put in a compelling bid.

We are also in the process of forming a new UK Wikimedia chapter to replace the soon to be folded old one. If you are interested in helping shape our plans, showing your support or becoming a future member or board member, please head over to the Wikimedia UK v2.0 page and let us know. We plan on holding an election in the next month to find the initial board, who will oversee the process of founding the company and accepting membership applications. They will then call an AGM to formally elect a new board who after obtaining charitable status will start the fund raising, promotion and active support for the UK Wikimedian community for which the chapter is being founded.

You may also wish to attend the next London meet-up at which both of these issues will be discussed. If you can't attend this meetup, you may want to watch Wikipedia:Meetup, for updates on future meets.

We look forward to hearing from you soon, and we send our apologies for this automated intrusion onto your talk page!

Image copyright problem with File:Clyde 1958.JPG edit

Thanks for uploading File:Clyde 1958.JPG. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Jordan McMillan edit

Hi there again, just a heads up - Jordan McMillan doesn't meet notability guidelines as he has never played in a fully-pro league or cup competition (see WP:ATHLETE). I'm gonna wait to see if he makes his Accies debut today, and if not I'll have to put the article up for deletion - sorry! Thanks, GiantSnowman 15:21, 10 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Ah cool, when a match report is produced (I normally use BBC) then add that he had made his debut so that it is clear (and, most importantly, referenced) that he meets notability requirements. Cheers, GiantSnowman 15:29, 10 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Jordan McMillan edit

Nice, could you add that as a reference into the article? Cheers, Mattythewhite (talk) 17:30, 10 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

You should take a look at Template:Cite book or see an article that includes a reference to a book, like Jason McGill for example. The details from your book can just be slotted into the releveant fields. Cheers, Mattythewhite (talk) 17:43, 10 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Christian Smith edit

I see, and BBC Sport confirms the appearance in that game. Thanks, Mattythewhite (talk) 15:14, 16 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

I think he does actually have a middle name. I've conducted a search using findmypast.com by searching Christian Smith and his DOB range, which brings up a result of five names, all of which include a middle name. I'm not certain which one is him however. I assume the Clyde View and SFA suspension lists don't explicitly state whether what they show are full names. Thanks, Mattythewhite (talk) 15:12, 20 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
There are the Sky Sports Football Yearbooks, but I am unsure on the detail of information they provide. User:PeeJay2K3 has a copy of this season's edition so I'll ask him if it includes information on full names. Cheers, Mattythewhite (talk) 09:46, 23 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Charles Clark (footballer), and it appears to include material copied directly from http://wikibin.org/articles/charlie-clark.html.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. Orphaned non-free media (File:ClydefcBadge.jpg) edit

Thanks for uploading File:ClydefcBadge.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:11, 14 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
