Passive voice

I understand that you think removing an attribution “suggests” something, but it’s literally bad English 101.

Also, you can’t just make those broad statements regardless. I.e., you can’t say that Nickelback’s music is “widely described as terrible”. Goblintear (talk) 14:19, 25 January 2022 (UTC)

Editor 212.etc

Since this IP is making threats of outing on their own talk page, not just on the Warnborough College pages, a broader, universal block is probably in order. Banks Irk (talk) 15:13, 25 January 2022 (UTC)

I agree and have changed the block to sitewide, 72h, no TPA. I hope you don't mind, but they were vandalizing WP:AN and then their own Talk page (can't revoke TPA for a partial block). I didn't see the need for a longer block as their disruption started only yesterday. It can always be increased if they resume after the block expires.--Bbb23 (talk) 17:52, 25 January 2022 (UTC)
Good move. Thanks. I saw the new post on their talk page, quickly reverted by User:Bbb23. Also threatening to IP hop across the college's range of IP addresses. It may be necessary to block a range of IP addresses if this resumes. Banks Irk (talk) 17:59, 25 January 2022 (UTC)

Repeated wrong edits by user

Repeated wrong edits on multiple pages are made by user - Soumyadeep176/similar names (e.g - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Black_Kite/Archive_87#Wiki_proction_settings) . Need to block its accounts/IP address to prevent further vandalization. Reva1804 (talk) 10:56, 26 January 2022 (UTC)

  • @Reva1804: Could you give some examples, please? Soumyadeep176 hasn't edited since 7th January. Black Kite (talk) 12:26, 26 January 2022 (UTC)
    • @Black Kite: Multiple IDs in the past having 'Soumyadeep' in their name (presumably all created by a single person, as they are repeatedly vandalizing same pages) are involved. These IDs update wrong GSDP figures for West Bengal on multiple pages using different IDs Reva1804 (talk) 12:41, 26 January 2022 (UTC)
      • @Reva1804: I am aware of the previous problems, which is why Soumyadeep176 is banned from most articles about Indian GSDP, and the articles in general are protected. Is there an issue that is still going on, and if so could you link me to which articles? Black Kite (talk) 15:04, 26 January 2022 (UTC)

Block evasion

Hi Black Kite. This user whom you just blocked [1] is already back as a IP, attempting to restore his previous edits [2]. Think it's safe to say he is WP:NOTHERE. --HistoryofIran (talk) 17:43, 10 February 2022 (UTC)

Kitchen Knife

Hi there. I've recently noticed that Kitchen Knife has been subject to a block as a result of his behaviour, and I'd like to make you aware (in case you aren't already) that he has been subject numerous complaints of which he has repeatedly failed to engage with in a constructive manner. Every single time he comes up against someone who disagrees with his edits, he hurls abuse at them like nothing else. A particular example can be found here, but can also be seen when someone tried to reach out to help him become a more constructive member of the editing community (see here). For the record, I am not a perfect editor by any means; but I would like to know how best to deal with an editor who takes every minor editing dispute as a grave personal insult. Vandalism by Indonesian IP

This IP (and others like that) has also vandalized UEFA club competition records and statistics and List of Juventus F.C. records and statistics in the same way of 1984 European Cup Winners' Cup Final. I detailed about that in WP:FOOTBALL's talk some days ago. Please check it, thanks.--Dantetheperuvian (talk) 16:20, 12 February 2022 (UTC)

  • @Jclemens: Yeah, it was legit. It only has one revision and that was a redirect to American Association of Pro-Life Obstetricians & Gynecologists (ampersand instead of "and") which doesn't exist. That article was deleted via PROD in 2019 as it was a stub which basically said "this organisation exists" with a single source which was the organisation's own website. Request for unprotection

Hello, Black Kite. Page Sree Leela and Sree Leela (actress) were full protected as it was disrputively created by socks/possible UPEs. The subject was first AfD'ed back in September 2020 where the outcome was to incubate in draft space. It was sent to AfD again in November 2021 where it was deleted, possibly since it was moved to mainspace without any improvement over the draft. I've worked on Draft:Sree Leela and improved it substantially, so that it meets WP:NACTOR guidelines.

Therefore, I request you to unprotect Sree Leela to allows its re-recreation. An alternative spacing, Sreeleela is available for re-creation but I don't intend to move there by overriding this protection. I'm also okay if its immediately sent to AfD to re-assess notability by the community, as I'm fairly certain that it meets our guidelines. Regards -- Ab207 (talk) 12:39, 20 March 2022 (UTC)

Hi

Hi Black Kite - hope you are well. Trying to avoid a drama/the dramaboards, I pinging you into this post that was just reverted as "harassment". I have no problem with anything of mine being reverted, but clearly a polite notice about asking someone to stop making personal attacks isn't working. Thank you. Are you sure? Both the IPs I linked above I found DID geolocate to the same place.SovalValtos (talk) 09:30, 24 March 2022 (UTC)
Yes, they locate to the same place, but I meant that they don't geolocate to either of Moylesy98's previous common locations. Black Kite (talk) 10:04, 24 March 2022 (UTC)

User:OnlyFixingProse

I'm not sure why, but this user strikes me as somewhat more likely to be a subtle troll than a real account just learning things awkwardly, but I don't feel like trying a report to the Drama Boards when a judicious look by a seasoned, skeptic admin is probably all that's needed. Tell me if I'm being paranoid? Cheers, Jclemens (talk) 08:09, 27 March 2022 (UTC)

[redacted] I would try and offer an explanation for what I did, but it seems like there are no excuses. I apologize for nominating most of the creator's articles into Afd. I just feel like those articles aren't ready yet. It was rejected on draft before the article was boldly moved by himself to the mainspace, but yeah. I shouldn't probably do this next time, but receiving blocks seems reasonable anyway. I have withdrawn all of it already. Adios. OnlyFixingProse (talk) 08:55, 27 March 2022 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Brett_Perlmutter

Hello User:Black Kite. I would like to kindly and politely draw your attention to the AfD that you recently closed about the article called Brett Perlmutter. It was nominated by for deletion by a user called user:SadHaas, who seemed a wp:SPA and has since deactivated his/her account. Sadly, I think this was because SadHaas is the same user as Ksoze1 who is pushing adamantly for the deletion of the article. In fact, the last edit of SadHaas (which we can no longer see because the account has been deleted) was the same day that Ksoze1 reactivate his/her account since it was dormant since 2017 [[5]] in order to keep editing the AfD. I am not an expert at these forensics, but this seems evident that they are the same person. Now the nominator of the AfD no longer exists on Wikipedia!

Furthermore, Ksoze1 revealed a certain bias against the subject of the article on the talk page of ExtraordinaryWrit [[6]]; it seems to take the form of a grudge because they went to the same high school as the subject, according to what Ksoze1 wrote. Not sure how that plays into the concept of neutrality (again, I am new here!)

Would you consider reversing your deletion, relisting it, or letting it be renominated by an experience editor who is not a suspected !duck, per user:SmokeyJoe 's suggestion in the AfD?Lobsteroll (talk) 00:40, 6 April 2022 (UTC)

I certainly do not support reversing or relisting the deletion. I suggest that Lobseroll get more mainspace editing experience. Lobsteroll might reasonably request userfication, I think they wrote it. SmokeyJoe (talk) 00:46, 6 April 2022 (UTC)
I made a single vote in the AfD, and my comment behind it pertained only to the source material and my belief that it did not support the subject having a BLP. I would not call that adamant, and although I am not the same user that initially nominated the article for deletion, the consensus left by other established editors was still for deletion. The baseless allegation that I have a grudge against somebody I have never met is irrelevant.
I will add that Lobsteroll was topic banned from this issue for his behavior. Ksoze1 (talk) 17:57, 6 April 2022 (UTC)

Blocking me

I believe you have blocked/locked me with no reason. For example Faber was indeed ousted by the Board of directors. It is a fact. Eliminating (and blocking me for) that reference in the summary bio is frankly difficult to understand. Also, the reference to the letter es received by two different funds it’s a documented fact. As is the fact that part of the voiced complaints were the unbalanced use of his time. I put a reference to that fact to the other editor that complained. As it stands the Wikipedia entry is not balanced and that does not help. Primeditor (talk) 18:22, 17 April 2022 (UTC)

  • You are only blocked from the article, and may still suggest edits on the talkpage. However, edits like this which add personal commentary and negative comments about a living person with little or no sourcing are not acceptable. Black Kite (talk) 02:29, 18 April 2022 (UTC)

Superman

I think you could have just removed the bold from Superman, leaving Action Comics #1 as the blurb target for April 18 OTD. Additionally, if the Superman article has a lot of unsourced stuff, then ideally it should be tagged with CN or a {{refimprove}} somewhere so that it can be disqualified. Thanks. howcheng {chat} 06:32, 19 April 2022 (UTC)

  • Yes, i didn't think of that. On the other hand we ended up with an FA on the page, so it worked OK. Black Kite (talk) 07:00, 19 April 2022 (UTC)

About afghanistan ethnics maps

User is not listening.

This map is not because of that, FYI it’s from al-Jazeera https://www.aljazeera.net/amp/news/reportsandinterviews/2011/5/16/%25d9%2585%25d9%2586-%25d9%2587%25d9%2585-%25d8%25a7%25d9%2584%25d8%25a8%25d8%25b4%25d8%25aa%25d9%2588%25d9%2586 it's english version of the page. CIA map is wrong and old, and made by america's political strategies https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Balkh_Province Balkh province has tajik majority according to wikipedia but according to that map is the majority is uzbek. According to wikipedia itself Al-Jazeera is reliable, it’s Simply clear it's more reliable than governomental organizations like CIA 5644Khorasani (talk) 12:53, 27 April 2022 (UTC)

  • Yes, you keep telling us this, but you have not explained (a) how the CIA Factbook versions are wrong, and (b) how and why the problems listed on the image page can be overcome. Merely shouting "Al Jazeera is a reliable source" over and over again is not going to answer either of those questions. (Also, it appears that the data for that map may actually be from 1985). https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Balkh_Province English page balkh province

Question a answer:according to diffrent pages in diffrent language in wikipedia balkh province as an example is a province with tajik majortiy but according to fake cia is uzbek because of CIA prevents iran influence on persian speaking socities in afghanistan

Question b answer:although question b isn't worth to answer but you asked about problems, i say because CIA is a governomental organization and it's a governoment thing for god's sake but Al-Jazeera is one of the top independent news Networks (this is what wiki pedia says)

Hope i could convince you 5644Khorasani (talk) 13:50, 27 April 2022 (UTC)
  • No, that's just the same thing over again. You're claiming that the CIA data is wrong "because it's a government thing" but The Al Jazeera map as created using data from the Afghanistan Government! Also, Russian Wikipedia (or any wikipedia) isn't a reliable source. Black Kite (talk) 14:03, 27 April 2022 (UTC)

I sugggest visit this page

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Reliable_sources/Perennial_sources

If you keep moving down during the page you will se that al Jazeera is reliable. Then i'm not saying Al-Jazeera is 100% true!! But surely it's 10 times more reliable than An inteligence agency statistics!!! So, the main reason that i say CIA is wrong, it's because for instance according to CIA map balkh province is a pro dominanat predominant uzbek province (wich is wrong) but according to my map wich is based on Al-Jazeera report balkh has tajik majority (wich is according to all References in diffrent wikipedia by languages a true Statement) the reason that i disagree with cia is not beacuse of it's governomental origins (although i considere that too!!!) it's because if cia wrong informations about balkh and certainly other provinces. 5644Khorasani (talk) 14:53, 27 April 2022 (UTC)

  • You're still not providing any evidence of this. End of conversation, I think, use WP:RS/N instead. Black Kite (talk) 17:33, 27 April 2022 (UTC)

Then why am i blocked??? https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Reliable_sources/Perennial_sources According to this link my source is reliable, so why am i blocked??? Why did id do to become block??? 5644Khorasani (talk) 18:23, 27 April 2022 (UTC)

  • You were edit-warring. And since you still appear to not understand what the problem is with that map despite having been told at least three times, I do wonder if WP:CIR applies here. Black Kite (talk) 22:01, 27 April 2022 (UTC)

Νο, im blocked, and i can't edit the page. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Reliable_sources/Perennial_sources You talked about evidence,i expained to you about all them, why are you so obsessed with cia map??? At least delete that, no governomental organizations. You say my map is not reliable i showed a link above that i'm right. https://nps.edu/web/ccs/samangan&ved=2ahUKEwiGgJWy4bX3AhWUwQIHHVJpCwcQFnoECCIQAQ&usg=AOvVaw3b4FHsidysNDwyA-ahNhb6 According to link above samangan province has tajik majority but according to cia map it's uzbek!!!!
