Catching Fire edit

You're a new editor, so it's no unreasonable that you wouldn't have known: WikiProject film does not use the hyperbolic term "critical acclaim." This is in order to avoid subjectivity and to maintain appropriately neutral encyclopedic tone. Thank you for respecting this, and may I be the first live editor to wish you happy Wiki'ing. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Perth City Link, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page HBF (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

File source problem with File:Lufthansa Airbus A380 landing at JFK.png edit

Thank you for uploading File:Lufthansa Airbus A380 landing at JFK.png. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. A tag has been placed on File:One World Trade Center, Under Construction, April 2012.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. September 2015 edit

Thank you for your contributions. Please mark your edits, such as your recent edits to Shia LaBeouf, as "minor" only if they are minor edits. In accordance with Help:Minor edit, a minor edit is one that the editor believes requires no review and could never be the subject of a dispute. Minor edits consist of things such as typographical corrections, formatting changes or rearrangement of text without modification of content. Additionally, the reversion of clear-cut vandalism and test edits may be labeled "minor". Thank you. Sundayclose (talk) 22:48, 26 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

October 2015 edit

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to blank out or remove portions of page content, templates, or other materials from Wikipedia, as you did at Universal Studios Japan, you may be blocked from editing. Thank you. Sundayclose (talk) 17:39, 3 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you remove or blank page content or templates from Wikipedia, as you did at John F. Kennedy International Airport. HkCaGu (talk) 07:00, 6 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

Your recent editing history at John F. Kennedy International Airport shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you get reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. Citydude1017 (talk) 18:21, 6 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

American Dream Meadowlands edit

Hi. Thanks for working to improve the American Dream Meadowlands article with your edit. However, the edit had to be partially reverted, because Wikipedia cannot accept uncited material. Wikipedia requires that the material in its articles be accompanied by reliable, verifiable (usually secondary) sources explicitly cited in the article text in the form of an inline citation, and the sources cited at the end of the passage in question do not mention a figure of $30. I did retain, however, the rest of the passage you added. Thanks. Nightscream (talk) 15:13, 27 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hi Benjamin "Jeffrey" Powell. You've already been advised once before about this kind of thing back in 2015 in #September 2015, but for some reason you still seem to be pretty much tagging all of your edits as minor edits even when it seems clear that they aren't. Perhaps you've just been doing this out of habit, but you probably need to be a little more careful in doing so. Editors who continue to inappropriately mark edits as minor have been in the past blocked for disruptive editing, particularly when advised not to do so multiple times.
Another thing I also noticed is that you're in the habit of not leaving edit summaries for your edits. In some cases, like correcting an obvious typo, an edit summary may not really be needed, but in most cases leaving one can help others understand why a change was made and thus be less likely to mistake it for vandalism or some other form of disruption. A simple edit summary, e.g. "Per Wikipedia's policy/guideline on ABC", etc. maybe even containing a link to the relevant Wikipedia policy/guideline page, is much better than no edit summary and is considered good practice. -- Marchjuly (talk) 02:36, 2 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

English variants edit

Hi. Please don't change Eng var without good reason. In UK English, punctuation doesn't need to sit inside inverted commas. There is no full stop after Mr, Dr, Mrs etc. If you plan to edit UK English articles, please do read up on conventional use. NEDOCHAN (talk) 12:41, 24 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

@NEDOCHAN I'm sorry if I've misunderstood you if you were actually purely talking about the Wikipedia MOS - but using full stops is a variant after honorifics in Standard English. It's the main form I was taught as a little girl and as far as aware it still is (I'm 20, for context) although I could be wrong about that - but it's still in use as a variant either way. The article for the honorific for mister - Mr. - uses the full stop as the title for example Stephanie921 (talk) 14:46, 24 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
In British English there are no full stops after Mr Mrs etc. https://prowritingaid.com/grammar/1000068/Should-I-use-a-period-after-titles-like-Mrs-%2C-Dr-%2C-and-Capt-NEDOCHAN (talk) 15:04, 24 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
@User:NEDOCHAN I don't think that's inherently true. You can use no full stops if you want, but as I've demonstrated by that article, full stops after honorifics are a variant in Standard English. I feel like people should be able to use whatever variant they want - and using full stops after honorifics would pertain to that in a way that didn't deviate from Standard English - since it's already in common use. I think a good idea would be to look at the MOS and see whether that discourages full stops after honorifics - to determine standard practice for Wikipedia Stephanie921 (talk) 15:29, 24 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hi. On the Trainspotting 2 article, you changed 'afterwards' to 'afterward', which directly contradicts WP:ENGVAR. Please refrain from making similar edits. NEDOCHAN (talk) 15:42, 30 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
