Sourcing in the lead

Hi, I saw your edit about removing an unsourced lead and would like to let you know that the lead doesn't need incline citations, as long as the facts are referenced elsewhere in the article. In this case, all of the information you removed from the lead was actually sourced elsewhere. I am currently reviewing the article under the GA criteria so you do not need to revert this edit, but please be aware of WP:LEADCITE. Thanks, C679 15:40, 4 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

Once the GA process is complete, it should be looking much better! Thanks, C679 15:51, 4 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

NASL

Hello, i noticed you keep marking the Atlanta Silverbacks transfers as Mark Bloom is coming back on to the team. However, Toronto FC already purchased him and he will not be returning. Also, you kept Mark Bloom on the transfers going "out" as well which doesn't make much sense. The source you used claims he had a strong chance of staying with Toronto FC, which he did. The source doesn't match with the edit you made. Mark Bloom was transferred out of the Silverbacks, not back into. Sorry for any confusion. Cheers! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Parxpower (talkcontribs) 18:26, 7 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

2014 Indian Federation Cup?

I see you've moved the page to 2014 Federation Cup, but this event was supposed to be held in 2013 as far as I understand and "actual" 2014 event will be held later this year right? How do we disambiguate in that case? Nadesai (talk) 02:43, 16 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

I see you have shifted it to 2013–14 Federation Cup. Good move, I think. I have fixed some of the other links as well, like group stage etc., and have manually substituted links of 2014 to 2013-14 in case we actually have a 2014 event eventually. So http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:WhatLinksHere/2014_Indian_Federation_Cup and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:WhatLinksHere/2014_Indian_Federation_Cup_Final and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:WhatLinksHere/2014_Indian_Federation_Cup_Group_Stage should not have any incoming links to them until new Fed cup is actually announced and redirect is removed. Nadesai (talk) 18:34, 16 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
Shouldn't Federation cup final naming be consistent with 2013-14 as well? Nadesai (talk) 04:49, 18 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

Referring to your edit of Template:I-League

Buddy, just see the template for NBA - it also includes the seasons of its precursor Basketball Association of America (1946-47 season to 1948-49 season). Similarly, the template for Major League Baseball also includes the seasons of before its official founding (1876 season to 1900 season). The I-League is de facto NFL; only the name's changed. NFL and I-League never existed together - one was established after the dissolution of the other.

However, before I made my edit, Template:I-League contained the 2006–07 Indian National Football League link. When you undid my revision on 15 January 2014 at 21:51 hrs, the new template created had the above mentioned season's name in it. So if the last season of NFL can be viewed as a season of I-League, why can't all the previous seasons?

Redundancy in templates?

I have two templates Template:I-League seasons and Template:I-League and both of them are listing all seasons of I-League so far, is there any way we can divide the season listing between these two rather than keeping it redundant? Nadesai (talk) 12:12, 31 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

Quick question...

How good are you at editing/fixing club templates? Cause I'm not that good when it comes to that and I need help with a few. – Michael (talk) 22:34, 12 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Well, I would go through all the USL and NASL club templates (including the old NASL club templates if there are any), and pretty much fix the whole template. You know, get rid of all the unnecessary information that has nothing to do with the current franchise and also fix the primary colors. You should have an idea of what I'm talking about. The USL/NASL club templates are completely out of sync with all the other club templates we have on here. – Michael (talk) 19:32, 13 February 2014 (UTC)Reply
And there are a couple that may not need fixing. – Michael (talk) 19:36, 13 February 2014 (UTC)Reply
Template looks good. Yeah the user who did this obviously didn't care about the guidelines and tried to accuse me and a couple others of edit warring. – Michael (talk) 22:49, 13 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

I thought you were gonna fix the rest once I looked at the Silverbacks template and gave you my thoughts on it, which is what I did a couple days ago. – Michael (talk) 03:49, 17 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

OK good. One minor note though. I removed the USSF D2 pro league from major honors because they lost the title match to the Puerto Rico Islanders. Also, I'm not sure Royal Blue is one of their colors. I thought they had a darker shade of blue. – Michael (talk) 19:10, 8 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Loan vs Transfer

Was your message in context of C.K. Vineeth? The way I read it, it seems his contract ran out at United SC and he was a free agent and since then he has signed with Bengaluru. So is this a loan and not a transfer? Nadesai (talk) 14:09, 16 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Got it. So even if Bengaluru FC signs him permanently, it can only happen at the end of 2013-14 season? Nadesai (talk) 14:27, 16 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

re: MLS Player Categories

Just include the basic stuff when your creating a page. Example, let's say you create Taylor Peay's page (which right now would be a bad idea unless you can find reliable sources to back it up). He did attend the University of Washington so you would also include Category:Washington Huskies men's soccer players. He also played in the PDL with the Ogden Outlaws, Tacoma Tide, Seattle Sounders FC U-23, and North Sound SeaWolves so you would add player categories for those teams and you would also add Category:USL Premier Development League players. And he was drafted by the Timbers so you would also include Category:Portland Timbers draft picks. You know, just the basics. Also, sometimes a player's debut comes in a cup match and not an MLS match. Earlier I had to remove the MLS player category from J. J. Koval's page because his debut came in a CONCACAF champions league match, but it's back on there now since he made his MLS debut on Saturday. MLS player category is for players who appeared in at least 1 MLS match in their career.

Also, there's no need for apologies. If there's missing info on a page, I have no problem adding it on there. – Michael (talk) 05:29, 17 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Bangalore Super Division

It's taking place only in 2014, but even officially it's known as "2013-14 season" [6] so would be a good idea to call the page 2013-14 rather than 2014. Coderzombie (talk) 02:59, 5 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Project 2014-15 sounds like a good idea. Will keep a tab there as well. Coderzombie (talk)
On that note, why have you named the page "2014 Indian Super League season" rather than "2014 Indian Super League"? As far as club-season pages go, a few clubs' 2013-14 need a lot of update too. Other than 2013–14 Bengaluru FC season they are severely lagging. Coderzombie (talk) 05:38, 5 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
No I was not debating 2014 or 2013-14 in case of ISL. 2014 is perfectly fine, but I was just talking about the necessity of "season" at the end, thought we could just have it like 2014 Indian Premier League. but your explanation makes sense. Coderzombie (talk) 06:56, 5 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Club Chennai?

Really? Is that what it is? People really need to stop this nonsense. Coderzombie (talk) 22:35, 6 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

Fair enough. Though personally I think it should've been kept at Chennai ISL team and move only when it was official. Coderzombie (talk) 06:07, 7 September 2014 (UTC)Reply
I think Club Chennai is fine for now. Let's not add to the thousand redirects. :) Thoughts? Coderzombie (talk) 06:39, 7 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

Fixtures on 2014 Indian Super League season page

I started a conversion here on this section in the 2014 Indian Super League season article. Participation would be welcome. Coderzombie (talk) 04:06, 9 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

Chennai

Sorry mate, my fault. I've never watched any Asian football, but as an Inter Milan fan, I found out about the team via Materazzi and assumed that a source like the Times of India would be accurate for the name. Thanks for correcting me in a mature and civil way, most welcome '''tAD''' (talk) 19:05, 12 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

Yeah I have good feelings about this league from what I have read, especially about the regulations to ensure Indian and local players in each team. '''tAD''' (talk) 19:18, 12 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

ISL official sources

You can try all you want. People are going to keep adding the information as they see fit. I have decided to stop bothering with it for now. Rumour mill will keep going until the tournament starts. Better to wait till the tournament and only then invest efforts in terms of cleanup.

On that note, I noticed that you have removed fixtures section. I agree with your point about the page itself becoming too heavy, but it'd still be good to have a fixture page and a link from the season page, because I doubt we'll have enough editors to create a separate season page for each team. And even if we do, it'd be good to have a centralized fixture page, which could be a source of much sought information for general readers. Thoughts? 2014 ISL Inaugural International Draft

The article says that there were 49 players available to draft, but then it shows that 56 were drafted. Were there late additions? '''tAD''' (talk) 05:23, 29 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

Move: Chennaiyin FC

Hello ArsenalFan700, I had moved the article Chennaiyin FC as per the logo which constitutes the official name of the team. Logo is always composed of the name of the organization and also most of the football Clubs are name F.C. just like Private Limited are popularly known as Pvt. Ltd. Also, kudos for your work! :-) -- ♪Karthik♫ ♪Nadar♫ 16:35, 6 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

I'm not keen on moving it, but anyways your point is also worth considering. Lets consider genegalising, so let it be FC for now. Thanks! -- ♪Karthik♫ ♪Nadar♫ 07:40, 7 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

Protecting ISL and 2014 ISL page

There's repeated vandalism on these two pages, mostly by IP users. Do you know any admin who can protect these pages? Coderzombie (talk) 16:57, 9 October 2014 (UTC)Reply
