Page name edit

Why not just call it "2014 Indian Super League"? Coderzombie (talk) 05:24, 1 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Ya there is no need for the word "season" hereDebarghya89 (talk) 05:36, 2 September 2014 (UTC)Reply
There is when you have the regular season and the play-offs. Please see 2014 Major League Soccer season or 2014 Argentine Primera División season. --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 06:50, 2 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

Other foreign players edit

Why do we need this section now? It makes sense for the I-League because clubs can only have 4 foreigners but when you can have at least 10 foreigners then the need for the box is zero percent. The box is now way to big and looks ridiculous and forced, it should be gotten rid of or at least modified to look decent at least. --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 16:11, 1 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

Agree : I absolutely agree. Listing 10 players on a season page is like listing half the squad. Not sure what sense it makes here. All players are listed on their respective team pages any way. Debarghya89, please mention your logic for keeping it. Coderzombie (talk) 18:11, 1 September 2014 (UTC)Reply
Exactly! Also the foreign players for each team will be listed on their respective season article so why even have them listed again on the main 2014 season page? --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 20:22, 1 September 2014 (UTC)Reply
I agree with above per deleting it. The Marquee table is good as they have a special status, and it also often not mentioned on the respective team's page (see the A-League teams for example). However the other foreign players table is only useful if they have a certain status like a restriction per visas (again see the A-League for example... hmm I wonder which soccer articles I usually edit? :P) --SuperJew (talk) 21:45, 1 September 2014 (UTC)Reply
Well, they do have a restriction here but it is huge... like 13 players max... that is still too many foreign players to have a table... might as well have all squads listed at this point. --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 05:00, 2 September 2014 (UTC)Reply
Technically there is a restriction on foreign players.Agree that the table looks big.I have changed it to a smaller font for now. Some other leagues like Thai Premier League also have a pretty large table of foreigners. Also another thing we can possibly do is to have 7 boxes for draft selected players and another "Other" box where all players signed outside the squad cap will be present. That would make it 8 boxes and take less space.I made this table first and worked hard on it so ya a little soft spot for it,but would go with a general consensus here. Debarghya89 (talk) 05:33, 2 September 2014 (UTC)Reply
Ya, I mean, I appreciate the work you put in but honestly at this point we have 11 columns and that is a bit to much now and even with a shortened/modified version it would look to messy, sloppy, and just big. I believe the best thing to do is to just get rid of it. The Thai Premier League has a 7 foreign player limit... the ISL has double that limit. --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 06:52, 2 September 2014 (UTC)Reply
  • I think there should be a table for drafted players, another seperate from new recruited players. Now it has become too much players. At the same time, there is no limit for international players, they have to have minimum of 7. So if the table is deleted also, no problem. RRD13 (talk) 08:15, 2 September 2014 (UTC)Reply
But we already have separate pages for the drafted players, what is the use of having them listed on this page? --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 13:34, 2 September 2014 (UTC)Reply
  • Okay, considering the lack of replies I am guessing we can get rid of the table? --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 15:59, 3 September 2014 (UTC)Reply
  • I would still be against removing it.It's the first season so i guess the foreigners in the league is relevantDebarghya89 (talk) 16:28, 3 September 2014 (UTC)Reply
I mean, they are, but when you have 13 foreigners it kinda loses its purpose. We have so many other options like categories or team season pages. --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 19:55, 3 September 2014 (UTC)Reply
  • keep that table or make 2 tables 1 with drift players and other self signed players.

Goalkeepar (talk) 23:12, 5 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

Fixtures? edit

I think it'd be a good idea to have fixtures on the page as well. There aren't many fixtures to start with (56 at league stage) and other pages like 2014 Indian Premier League have done it. The only reason the regular leagues don't do it because they are year long tournaments with 20-odd teams. Here that is not the case. If you have any objections, please let your views known. Coderzombie (talk) 04:01, 9 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

  • Agree: Yes I agree fixtures are needed and also add "other players section" as the page looks empty now. (Goalkeepar (talk) 11:15, 9 September 2014 (UTC))Reply
  • Oppose: Just because the Indian Premier League does it does not mean we should do it. The IPL is short-term tournament and that is shall it will always remain. The Indian Super League will be a short-term tournament for now but could/will expand in the future and these pages will be used to model future season articles. We should just use a fixtures and results table like this and add fixtures to individual team season pages like the 2014 Atletico de Kolkata season page. Cheers. --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 23:27, 9 September 2014 (UTC)Reply
I don't quite agree with your point here. ISL is a franchise-based short tournament and will most likely remain so. Even if a couple of teams are added at later stage, it'll never be a full-fledged league like Premier League or I-League. Coderzombie (talk) 03:55, 10 September 2014 (UTC)Reply
Disagree with that. There have been many indications from both owners and officials that they would like to expand the ISL, perhaps merge the I-League with the ISL, or even disband the I-League for ISL. The Indian Super League, if it survives, will definitely become a proper football league but it is more of a question of when. --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 22:28, 10 September 2014 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose: As ArsenalFan has said, I would prefer the grid which would include all the results. RRD13 (talk) 15:53, 10 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

Number of foreign players in the lineup? edit

Does anyone have any idea about the restriction for the number of foreign players in the eleven or in the squad? Coderzombie (talk) 16:25, 14 September 2014 (UTC) YES 6 IS THE MAXIMUM FOREIGN PLAYER CAN PLAYReply

Copypasting the entire article into an edit request makes it very hard to see what it is you want changed. If you don't mind, repeat the request above in the same format as you have been doing with the two prior requests Cannolis (talk) 23:23, 1 November 2014 (UTC).Reply

League Table - What's wrong with it? edit

The league table is all jumbled and wrong. I can't find it to edit. Teams have just played 4-5 games as of today. --ifesvr (talk) 13:15, 2 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

Attendances edit

Why did a user suddenly delete the attendance table with no prior discussion about it??? Please someone re-create the attendance table please. You would have discussed it prior to doing that ArsenalFan700. Itz arka (talk) 10:09, 6 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

I agree. We have official sources for attendance, why not keep it? It's consistent with other leagues around the world. Coderzombie (talk) 11:02, 6 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
Yes, that's why I tried to revert the edit done by the user, but there has been many intermediate changes in between, that's why I cannot revert it. So we have to recreate the whole big tiring table!!! It's very stupid how some users delete vast amount of data without consulting it in the talk page. Itz arka (talk) 11:18, 6 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
Can you refix it? Coderzombie Itz arka (talk) 11:20, 6 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
Yes, I can fix it, not a problem. Let's wait for a while for ArsenalFan700 to respond and see his rationale. He's a very experienced editor, so let's have a discussion and then reach a consensus. Coderzombie (talk) 11:34, 6 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
Okay, let him give his opinion here. But I Agree to keep that attendance table. Itz arka (talk) 14:06, 6 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
Hey guys, just want to say sorry as that was a massive mistake on my part. I like the attendance table and have nothing against it at all as there are sources for it. It was just very late at night when I was doing the cleaning up and I simply just forgot to re-add the attendance box. So ya, sorry. Also, there is no need to revert my edit, you can just simply go back to a previous version, copy and paste. Just because I messed up on one section does not mean the rest needs to suffer. Sorry, and cheers. --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 18:00, 6 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hey Atletico de kolkata play three game at home but in attendance table only two game show. Please fix it.

Official website doesn't have attendance for the third game. If you have any other reliable source. Coderzombie (talk) 05:15, 7 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
Yes even I am surprised that they didn't release the attendance of that specific match only! That is very stupid from the AIFF, cause matches in Kolkata can increase the average attendance of the tournament ;-) Itz arka (talk) 10:24, 7 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
This is not the fault of the AIFF, it is the fault of the Indian Super League as they are the organizers of the league. --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 18:02, 7 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
I agree. I have tweeted at both ATK and ISL twitter handles, but no response yet. Coderzombie (talk) 13:17, 7 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

Atk v Ker match Attendance was 55000 .. For confirmation See At atletico de kolkata current season page on Wikipedia. . Fix it please

THE USER WHO KEEPS ADDING 50,000 ATTENDANCE, PLEASE STOP DOING THAT. THERE IS NO SOURCE FOR IT. Coderzombie (talk) 15:32, 18 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

Kindly mark Elano's team as Chennaiyin FC, with the relevant link; the top otherwise looks very ugly. Also, update Elano's goal tally to 8 goals.

Also, update the table after the game between Pune City FC and Chennaiyin FC, having completed 1-1 and brought tally of all teams to 7 games played. Arcanephoenix (talk) 19:16, 11 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
