April 2016 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in Vilna Gaon, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Sir Joseph (talk) 15:33, 14 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

August 2016 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions. I am glad to see that you are discussing a topic. However, as a general rule, talk pages such as Talk:Pokémon are for discussion related to improving the article, not general discussion about the topic or unrelated topics. If you have specific questions about certain topics, consider visiting our reference desk and asking them there instead of on article talk pages. Thank you. —Farix (t | c) 14:01, 3 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I'm IronGargoyle. I noticed that you made a change to an article, David, but you didn't provide a source. I’ve removed it for now, but if you’d like to include a citation to a reliable source and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. IronGargoyle (talk) 19:04, 7 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I'm GorillaWarfare. Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view. Your recent edit to Nachman of Breslov seemed less than neutral to me, so I removed it for now. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. GorillaWarfare (talk) 22:12, 14 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Apple Watch has been reverted.
Your edit here to Apple Watch was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tszOL8uTWDY%7CApple) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a media file (e.g. a sound or video file) on an external server, then note that linking to such files may be subject to Wikipedia's copyright policy, as well as other parts of our external links guideline. If the information you linked to is indeed in violation of copyright, then such information should not be linked to. Please consider using our upload facility to upload a suitable media file, or consider linking to the original.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page.   Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to add soapboxing, promotional or advertising material to Wikipedia, as you did at Talk:Car, you may be blocked from editing. Dennis Bratland (talk) 03:57, 13 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

March 2019 edit

Your recent editing history at War shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.   Welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but in one of your recent edits to Brexit negotiations, it appears that you have added original research, which is against Wikipedia's policies. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. Thank you. Philipnelson99 (talk) 03:23, 31 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

Your edits to Minhag edit

First of all, I should have reverted your edits completely, as they are written in such abominable English, that they are positively unacceptable on Wikipedia. Please also abide by WP:BRD, which says - in short - that if you made an edit and it is reverted, you should not edit war, rather seek consensus on the talkpage. Especially in the case of the specific edit you reverted, which I undid for reasons I explained in the edit summary. Please also take into account that since I am a rabbi, saying that I do not know the origin of this minhag is rather insulting. Debresser (talk) 21:45, 2 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

This is to inform you that I reported you at WP:ANI in regards with your edits on the Minhag article. Debresser (talk) 22:55, 2 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

April 2019 edit

Anonymous users from this IP address have been blocked from editing for a period of 24 hours for edit warring, as done at Minhag.
During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 06:27, 3 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Talk:Vision Gran Turismo. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include, but are not limited to, links to personal websites, links to websites with which you are affiliated (whether as a link in article text, or a citation in an article), and links that attract visitors to a website or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the page, please discuss it on the associated talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. Vossanova o< 17:40, 28 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

Putting information in context edit

The Wikipedia audience is general and diverse, and does not necessarily share our religious beliefs. To that end, the Wikipedia articles on Judaism are to teach about Judaism, not to teach Judaism itself. For example, instead of "God provides sustenance and therefore food for all creatures and for all living beings", we might write, "Jews believe that God provides...". And then we would support this statement by citing a reliable source that documents this belief. Also, when we provide quotations, we should provide context for these quotations, usually by introducing them with relevant information. It is often sufficient simply to provide a citation of a source rather than quoting it. For more information about the use of quotations in Wikipedia, see Wikipedia:Quotations. For more on providing context to the reader, see WP:PCR. You might also like to know that there are other projects written from a religious perspective for a Jewish audience, such as Halachipedia, that are better suited to your preferred writing style.
