I am often asked how I find subjects and typically the answer is I either look at redlists or google themes, but often someone I wrote about helps me find another woman. The themes that fascinate me most are activists, immigrant women, scholars who write about/study women, women's education, and women's stolen nationality. I tend to focus on women who are intersectional, often minority populations or indigenous people, and non-nuclear families are likely to pique my interest. It is rare that I write about living people. From the beginning of my WP journey my focus was world wide. I write a lot about the Caribbean, because it is seriously under-represented in most encyclopedias, but I will write about any woman, anywhere to learn something.
