The way the entry reads is that he single handedly made Judo a sport. I think it would be worthwhile to expand on his interaction with the Judo world to bring that about. My understanding of the introduction of weight classes was a bit more of a concerted effort.Peter Rehse 09:37, 17 February 2007 (UTC)
Henry Stone
editYes, according to this article http://www.judoinfo.com/bruno2.htm
He was working "underneath" Henry Stone leadership in creating judo as a sport and getting it recognized nationally in the United States . —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.105.52.23 (talk) 01:40, 14 August 2008 (UTC)
- I agree. This article appears rather slanted in favor of Uchida.
Here's another reference that credits Henry Stone with inventing the weight system:
http://www.americanblackbeltacademy.com/ref-room/historyamericanmartialarts.htm
In 1948 Henry Stone devised a weight system that he hoped would aid the growth and development of judo. For several years, the weight system was experimented with at San Jose State in the physical education classes and proved worthwhile.

The link to Henry Stone provided in the Uchida article is not correct. The link is connected to an unrelated musician of the same name. There is no entry for the Henry Stone as he relates to judo in the U.S. I am his grandson and would like to help with this oversight. henrystone4th@yahoo.com — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.58.192.252 (talk) 00:46, 9 January 2013 (UTC)
