W.I. TurnerWilliam Irving Turner – Seems to be the name sources more-typically use when talking about him, rather than his works. --SarekOfVulcan (talk) 22:58, 30 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

  • Rename to Tim Turner (architect) My recollection of the sources about USFS architects is that he was most commonly referred to as "Tim", not "William Irving". My examination of several sources (not all cited in the article) leads me to think that the use of "Tim" might have been was sufficiently universal to justify its use in the article name in accordance with WP:COMMONNAME. --Orlady (talk) 13:42, 31 January 2013 (UTC) Sources in which he is called "Tim" include The Oregon Encyclopedia and this page from the History of the Architecture of the USDA Forest Service. This Historic American Buildings Survey document initially calls him W.I. "Tim" Turner, and thereafter mostly refers to him as Tim Turner, but inserts a "W.I. Turner" in a couple of places. --Orlady (talk) 13:55, 31 January 2013 (UTC)Reply
(edit conflict)Searching before I posted that request, it seemed like I was usually finding him as "William Irving 'Tim' Turner", but I really wouldn't want that for an article title. --SarekOfVulcan (talk) 13:58, 31 January 2013 (UTC)Reply
