Publication frequency? edit

At the moment the information given on the page is contradictory - monthly or fortnightly? Dsp13 (talk) 09:38, 27 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

It's monthly--I've fixed it now. (I suspect the original author did a cut-and-paste job from another magazine, and forgot to change it!) --RFBailey (talk) 19:10, 15 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

ISSN edit

The ISSN quoted for "entrain" (1475-9173) is duff. For an ISSN beginning "1475-917", the last digit must be "9". I suspect a typo (transposition) and that the ISSN should actually be 1475-9713. That is the ISSN shown at "Today's Railways UK", May 2009, page 3. The ISSN given in the infobox (1354-2793) is also duff; one beginning "1354-279" must end with "6". --Redrose64 (talk) 13:01, 27 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Resolved, by examining copies of both "Today's Railways UK" (1475-9713) and "Today's Railways Europe" (1354-2753). --Redrose64 (talk) 11:58, 7 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

? edit

Can someone explain why the "m" in the quote "[m]ajor articles on routes and systems are usually accompanied by good, clear maps." is in square brackets does this make any sense or can I remove it?Oranjblud (talk) 14:44, 5 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Because the original source - which youwas removed - states "Major articles on routes and systems are usually accompanied by good, clear maps", capital M. The person copying this quote altered the capitalisation, and used square brackets to indicate changed text. --Redrose64 (talk) 17:11, 5 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
Oh a capital .. couldn't see it for looking. There had to be a simple explanation (I was assuming insanity..).Oranjblud (talk) 17:14, 5 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

A source edit

quote: It has been cited along with other notable magazines such as Trains, The Railway Gazette, and Railway Age.[1]

The source is:

  • Solomon, Brian (27 November 2003). Electric Locomotives. Voyageur Press. p. 6. ISBN 978-0-7603-1359-6. Retrieved 5 July 2012.

Solomon states it as one source, the statement removed is overblown for a single brief mention - not how suddenly several magazines become "notable" (see WP:PEACOCK) based on a single passing mention.

If someone can incorporate this usefully into a form that extends encyclopedic content rather than a unhelpful attempt at establishing notability please do so.Oranjblud (talk) 17:10, 5 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

How to find references for magazines edit

I tried to add some information about Today's Railways UK to explain what is typically in each magazine, based on having read the magazine for 6 years. However it was removed due to lack of references. How can I find references to the contents of a magazine with no online presence (yet)? Would something like [1] this be acceptable?
