Switch title to (upcoming film) instead of (2022 film)? Possible merge?

I feel like the page was published with the false release year just because the actual title was already turned into a redirect. Can we merge this article to The Toxic Avenger (upcoming film) for the time being? Iamnoahflores (talk) 20:11, 27 February 2022 (UTC)

I don't think it's a good idea to readd the db-move tag to the redirect after someone removed it. Although I do think that the tagging was legit since there was no opposition after several weeks. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk) 12:00, 17 March 2022 (UTC)

  That doesn't match with the other titles on Wiki; the text to put before "film" has to be the year it comes out, or if it doesn't have one yet (like this situation) it has to say "upcoming". Iamnoahflores (talk) 22:49, 5 April 2022 (UTC)

  Strictly speaking, though, we don't really know if a release is "upcoming". Sometimes movies are made and for whatever reason are never released. All we can say about this one is that it has been shot. BD2412 T 18:02, 6 April 2022 (UTC)

  While technically true, it is exceedingly rare for a film that has already completed production (especially one from Legendary Pictures, who I can't recall ever having shelved an already-produced film) to never, ever be released.   It's literally common practice. It's not crystal balling, it's staying up to date and giving the most accurate title. We can always change it if there are delays or other situations. Iamnoahflores (talk) 15:44, 13 May 2022 (UTC)

I can see where Noah is coming from. Films that have a scheduled release year get delayed every now and then so it’s too early to tell. SlySabre (talk) 23:06, 16 May 2022 (UTC)
