ATP/WTA Points distributed in the Olympics. edit

I just read an article in the net, that said The ATP points earned for a gold medal in Beijing Olympic, will be less than a victory in a Master series... While in this article, it is clearly stated being 400 points, which is double of the points given to a Grand Slam victory.. Anyone can verify this?? Which one is correct, it does seems kinda odd to me that both ATP and WTA would give so much points for the Olympic, since this is the first time that points would be distributed in the Olympic, and such huge points would certainly change the balance drastically, it will really benefit players that has high aptitude playing on Hard court.

The number of points awarded to the winner of a Grand Slam is 1000, and a Masters Series 500 (see ATP Entry Ranking). I think you are mistaking the rankings points with the ATP Race points - in the ATP Race, a Grand Slam is indeed worth 200 points (see ATP Race). --Oxford St. (talk) 16:44, 7 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Personally, I think it would be appropriate to include the 4th placed players on the events table, such that the viewer knows who the bronze medalist defeated for the honour. I don't know how to edit the table (it seems to be based on some sort of template), but should anybody wish to do so, the relevant info, with references, is as follows:

I believe only the medallist should be on the event table, as this appears to be the near-anonymous consensus in Olympic-related articles. If no one objects I will remove the fourth-place finishers from the event table. Fox334 (talk) 23:01, 15 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
