cant find citation

edit

Hi.. I recently added some information about those "light" cricket balls (tennis balls designed to act like cricket balls when taped). I can't find citation on them so far and will put any citation I find on the internet as soon as possible, but I am from Pakistan myself and have actually PLAYED and EXPERIENCED those balls before... And by the way I think this page also needs a picture.. Thx. Birdeditor 00:38, 18 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

found citation

edit

i recently found a citation for one of those "tennis balls for cricket". And yes i also modified the "Reference" section for citations (which is what it is for) and moved the website links into a new section called "External Links"... by the way this is User:Birdeditor 208.65.247.145 21:26, 18 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

NPOV

edit

Half of this article seems like puffery promoting Pakistan's fast bowlers and/or the country itself. Statements like "Pakistan's famous production of Fast bowlers", "cricket-loving nations such as Pakistan", "Every youth of Pakistan gets introduced to tape ball cricket", etc. need to be altered or removed. The general tone of the article is inappropriate for Wikipedia, not to mention the almost-complete lack of sources or inline citations to support the main premise of the article i.e. that "tape ball" is an exclusively Pakistani invention, and that it has contributed to the country's supposed prowess at producing fast bowlers. Tape ball a Pakistani invention of the 80's?

edit

I don't think that a tape ball was "invented" in Pakistan in the 1980's. I was playing cricket at school in Australia with a tape ball in 1983 and it wasn't new or innovative then. I'm sure it's been around since at least the 1970's if not longer. I'll try to find a reference. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hammer tool (talkcontribs) 00:51, 12 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
