To-do list for Rush Hour (1998 film):

Spoiler warning
editShould there be a spoiler warning? The plot isn't really giving any details away... Kareeser 08:07, 3 December 2005 (UTC)
Record?
editHeard this was the highest grossing film in the U.S. without a white lead up to that point in time. Can anyone confirm? Quacks Like a Duck 04:01, 10 March 2007 (UTC)
Alot of this is wrong
editThe actor list doesnt even state that Jet Li was in this film. He was and he played juntao and was shot, while the american/english dude falls from teh ceiling can somebody second me on this? 80.6.206.45 02:57, 16 August 2007 (UTC)
Jet Li isn't in this movie. Check the credits. Shostie 03:31, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
Uhhh, That car is not a black Boxter (under trivia). That is a black corvette. Whoever put that in is a damn moron. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.198.12.212 (talk) 16:15, 21 September 2007 (UTC)
- Please refrain from personal attacks. Calling someone a "damn moron" because of a rather minor mistake is not exactly polite. — Cinemaniac (talk) 00:16, 26 December 2007 (UTC)
How is 'Do you understand the words coming out of my mouth?' one of the most famous comedy lines? I don't think I've ever heard anyone quoting that one in any context. 208.77.60.24 (talk) 02:34, 2 September 2008 (UTC)
Mention Rush Hour 4?
editXinbenlv (talk) 23:14, 15 April 2019 (UTC)
- Added, but it took them years to agree on the script, and setting a schedule will probably take them a while too. It isn't even in production yet so best to avoid speculation as much as possible. -- 109.79.176.69 (talk) 19:15, 20 August 2019 (UTC)
Jackie Chan
editChan remembers, “All the scripts come in and I say, ‘I’m not going to do this, I’m not going to do that.’ My manager tells me, ‘If you never try, you never know. You should do this one.’ That was ‘Rush Hour,’ then, boom, success, even though I didn’t like the movie. I still don’t like the movie.” He doesn’t like the film that put him on the map outside of Asia and grossed $226 million worldwide? “I don’t like the way I speak English, and I don’t know what Chris Tucker is saying,” Chan replies. “The movie exciting, the people smiling, and audiences like it, so it’s OK, but it’s American-style: more dialogue, more drama, a little bit fighting. If you see my Hong Kong movies, you know what happens: Bam bam bam, always Jackie Chan-style, me, 10 minutes of fighting.”
Jackie Chan didn't like the film. I think it would be a good idea to include some or all of this quote in the article. -- 109.78.246.240 (talk) 15:43, 17 August 2019 (UTC)
- Added to the article. Other sources too, he has said the same thing various times over the years. He clearly prefers to do things his own way, but also I think he says a lot of these things to manage the expectations of his Chinese fans who expect different things from his films. -- 109.79.176.69 (talk) 19:15, 20 August 2019 (UTC)
Rotten Tomatoes
editThe creation of Rotten Tomatoes is an interesting note but it simply isn't "Critical response" and should be anywhere else to make room for reviews. I've moved it to a different section "Cultural influence" for now but I don't mind what that section is called if anyone wants to rename it. I want to have room to include more reviews in the critical response section. It's strange to say the article for Rush Hour 3 is better quality than this article. -- 109.79.176.69 (talk) 03:19, 20 August 2019 (UTC)

Who played Soo Yung?
editShouldn't she be listed as a part of the cast? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:442:C280:ABC0:AD59:6617:2F88:C997 (talk) 23:04, 7 March 2021 (UTC)
add "cop" between "buddy" and "action
editIt would be best to put "buddy cop action comedy film" rather than "buddy action comedy film" since the main characters are cops. Nathanlong3010 (talk) 03:42, 6 May 2024 (UTC)
