Events
editI reverted this unsourced addition, but for the record, here are some other possible events to incorporate into the article. ---Another Believer (Talk) 05:30, 17 September 2017 (UTC)
- @AgWoolridge: I reverted your second attempt, too. These are not reliable sources, nor are they properly formatted. If you're able to find appropriate secondary coverage, such as newspaper articles, to verify these claims, feel free to propose text similar to what you see in the current article's "Roseland Theatre" section, and I'll incorporate into the article accordingly. Thanks! ---Another Believer (Talk) 05:47, 17 September 2017 (UTC)
Recent addition
edit@Peteforsyth: I'm curious about this addition. Can you clarify how this detail is relevant to an overview of Roseland? I haven't reviewed the article's text yet, but that info seems more appropriate for the PDXS article. I see the murder is mentioned there, but I'm not understanding how this detail helps the Roseland article. ---Another Believer (Talk) 01:04, 29 January 2019 (UTC)
- A central function of an encyclopedia is to guide readers to the most authoritative sources. The Oregonian, Willamette Week, and Portland Tribune have all credited Redden/PDXS as having done the central reporting that brought the main story about the Starry Night, prior to its name change, to conclusion. While it might be possible to simply weave some of those 23 stories into the citations, it would take a lot of work, and would probably mean a substantial expansion of this article, and maybe splitting off the Starry Night into its own article. I doubt any of that is imminent. In the short term, it seems worthwhile to simply point out to the reader that PDXS contains the main info they'll need if they want to know more about the Hurwitz/Moreau story. I'm sure there may be more artful ways to say it, and I'm open to rephrasing it or working it into a different part...but that's my general reasoning. -Pete Forsyth (talk) 06:24, 29 January 2019 (UTC)
- Thanks for replying. I'm not sure crediting Redden/PDXS is a necessary detail in an overview of the theater, but I don't feel strongly enough to remove your addition. Thanks for replying, and happy editing! ---Another Believer (Talk) 17:56, 29 January 2019 (UTC)
- Thanks, I think it was a valid concern the way I had initially written it, and I did shorten the sentence, removing part that was not very encyclopedic. Hopefully it's a little better now. -Pete Forsyth (talk) 18:17, 29 January 2019 (UTC)
