Pronunciation edit

Is Muti pronounced ˈmjuːtiː, mjuːˈtiː, ˈmuːtiː or mjuːˈtiː? I was asked not long ago, but was unable to give an answer. 88.106.199.132 20:34, 27 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Rhymes with "moo tea": my IPA isn't that great but I think that would be ˈmuːtiː. Grover cleveland`
Right, I would say "Mooty". The emphsis is on moo' btw, the ti' is more or less pronounced like tea... --Catgut 04:12, 3 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Infobox edit

I think Muti's article is the e an infobox. The articles about other music directors of American orchestras, such as Gustavo Dudamel, Alan Gilbert, and James Levine have them. Why should Muti be excepted? -Erru

I oppose adding the box based on two things: 1. one Wiki Classical Music editor put a do not add info box. 2. It is not the policy of that Project - which is a consensus of editors.
Now, you must allow discussion here. Please do not revert. Viva-Verdi (talk) 23:27, 13 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Can you please direct me to where that consensus is stated?Erru il 1988 (talk) 23:28, 13 April 2013 (UTC)ErruReply

They are right here: Wikipedia:WikiProject Classical music/Guidelines Viva-Verdi (talk) 23:33, 13 April 2013 (UTC)Reply
Would be best to direct editors to the guide over a project advice page Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Infoboxes#Using infoboxes in articles - just need to discuss the merits and disadvantages of the boxe here in this case.Moxy (talk) 15:40, 14 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Cited references no longer reachable edit

I note many of the citations taken from reports in the British "The Guardian" (daily) and "The Observer" (weekly) newspapers -- especially regarding maestro Muti's falling out and quitting at La Scala -- seem no longer reachable in early January 2016. There is an abundance of alternative source articles, for example from The NY Times, however, or the originals might be accessible at revised URLs. I will attempt to edit soon if nobody else gets there first. Humboles (talk) 06:25, 7 January 2016 (UTC)Reply
