Rabiya Sundall MateoRabiya Mateo – Per WP:COMMONNAME, the subject's name is Rabiya Mateo. The article itself states that Sundall is a middle name that is not used professionally. This article was only titled this way because a correctly titled article was also created and for some reason later redirected to this one. { [ ( jjj 1238 ) ] } 03:35, 27 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

  • Not Support I dont think we need to move the page to Rabiya Mateo, and Sundall is not her middle name, Occeña is the right middle name, Sundall is her fathers surname, While Mateo is her mother’s surname, which is both of Sundall and Mateo is from a matrilineal and patrilineal surname in the Philippines (same as happen with Latin America or Spanish naming where both of the parents surname was included) and some of the beauty queens also has done the same page naming like this, for example; Iana Tickle Garcia, A’yana Keshelle Phillips, Dee-Ann Kentish-Rogers, Frederika Alexis Cull, Birta Abiba Þórhallsdóttir and many more! • @I Nyoman Gede Anila: The articles you cite are not the same thing. Those are all women who use two given names or surnames as part of their professional name. Regardless of what her legal given name is and what is or isn't a middle name, Sundall is not part of her professional name. She is credited as Rabiya Mateo. Per WP:COMMONNAME, that should be the name of her article. { [ ( jjj 1238 ) ] } 14:49, 27 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

  • Support I think it should be moved to Rabiya Mateo, it is for everybody to avoid confusion. Your statements are correct, but we all know that the naming system of our country is: Given name + Maternal surname + Paternal surname. Sundall shouldn't be added into her name since she uses Mateo as her surname and she never used her Fathers' surname ever since her parents separated. She is born with a name that is in Filipino naming system. So we shouldn't make any changes to her name, since it's clear that she didn't use her Fathers' surname. It would lead to confusion if we use that naming style. Thanks. Chiwit0217 (talk) 05:00, 31 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

  • Personally undecided - do it right way, decide based on which name is used "more" by the "reliable sources and then go by the precedence":
    1. Instead of counting votes here, first count the reliable sources. Name based on the reliable source with less votes wins over the name taken from the unreliable sources with more votes. Exclude all the votes which have supported the names based on the unreliable sources.
    2. Go by the precedence, for example another mixed PinayIndian Venus Raj's article has her full name Maria Venus Bayonito Raj which has surviced for many years, so use the same convention, i.e. full name in the article namespace for Rabiya too.
    3. Remember, in the end does not matter what do you put as the article namespace, retain her both short and full name within the article text and redirect all the variations of her names to this article, this will keep everyone happy.

Shawntheshipper You're being annoying by reverting and deleting legitimate references there and you're currently on edit warring with so many users. As you did here, you're reverting everyone edits HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE and many more... Stop reverting everyone's edit, you're being non-sense and content removal by deleting reliable sources is inappropriate, Arabiya Sundall page isn't even your own page, everyone has the right to edits but yours are too disruptive and changing newly updated legitimate sources with an small local TV channel blog isn't accepted, even CNA article aren't legitimate sources sometimes you should also check the actual date released of the news.180.247.192.254 (talk) 14:15, 9 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

  • Strong support from me as well. Like Hiwilms, I agree that this seems to be on its surface to be a relatively uncontroversial move that wouldn't usually require a move request. If the sources overwhelmingly use the given name and surname, then this is the de facto WP:COMMONNAME. I have no idea what's going on with the socks. • Strong Support as well. Ever since I started editing in 2016, most articles here support WP:COMMONNAME. Despite having Sundall as part of her full name, since she does not use it in any way professionally so I believe that it shouldn't be included in her wiki page title. This has been proved many times in her yearbooks and her interviews that she only uses Rabiya Occeña Mateo only. Still confused about the sockpuppet issue though. Rabiya's height. edit

SOCKED-PUPPET USERS Can we stop changing her height? She's 5'7". There are articles saying that she's 5'6" and other articles say that she's 5'7". But she confirmed it herself during an Instagram takeover with @missuupdates that she's 5'7". I hope that's already fine.

Here's the link of her Instagram takeover with @missuupdates where she confirmed it herself that she's 5'7". https://www.instagram.com/s/aGlnaGxpZ2h0OjE3ODQ5Njc2NjA1MDcwNDk1?igshid=7o7jd2pdax42&story_media_id=2313635432124030846_4447444815 Shawntheshipper (talk) 11:28, 28 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

Birthdate edit

SOCKED-PUPPET USERS I'm not sure if her birthday is January 1996 making her 24 years old as of November 2, 2020.

SOCKED-PUPPET USERS On her Preliminary interview in Miss Universe Philippines 2020 last October (which is taped on that month), she introduced herself as "Hi, I'm Rabiya Occeña Mateo, 23". So i guess she's not born in 1996.

SOCKED-PUPPET USERS Okay. I just saw this interview of Dyan Castillejo (ABS-CBN Reporter) with Rabiya Mateo few days ago. Rabiya said that she will be turning 24 on November 14 so that makes her birthday to be November 14, 1996. Ianpaulguerrero (talk) 05:50, 5 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

IP user, just to note, there is a specific template you can add after the sock puppet's comment, rather than making a new comment or a new section alerting users to this, since it tends to clutter up a talk page. Birthdate 2020-11-15 edit

CCstrong (talk · contribs) posted a note on my talk page saying "Birthdate concern". Based on the user's other recent edits,[1][2] I assume he has a concern with Mateo's birthday. I've seen several other edits in the edit history that claim a birthday of November 14th rather than January 11. I don't have the expertise to tell which sources are reliable, and even among reliable sources, which ones are accurate.

CCstrong - you picked a contentious topic to ask for a correction. As you can see from the discussions above, multiple editors, or perhaps just one editor using multiple accounts, have raised the issue this year. Unfortunately, due the abuse of multiple accounts, their message is being ignored. Don't be surprised if someone accuses you of being a "sockpuppet" of an existing user who has been blocked from editing. See Wikipedia:Sockpuppetry if you are curious. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 03:52, 15 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

Yeah. I am aware of that as I read the talk page of this page. I am concerned with this page because it's getting damaged and vandalized so i would like to help in the best possible way i can. And if i am accused of doing something i didn't, that would be sad. I always believe with CheckUser and he/she can check my account for transparency because I would be totally happy to get the result of not being affiliated with the sock puppets in this page. CCstrong (talk) 04:01, 15 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

I would also like the admins or the editors here to please read the whole article of what i provided and check it for reliability and authenticity. We should fix this issue since it has damaged the whole page. Thank you very much.. CCstrong (talk) 05:09, 15 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

Rabiya Mateo's Birthdate edit

So since Rabiya's birthdate is one of the debated issues on this page the past few days, I think these references below are already enough to fix her birthday in this page from January 11, 1996 to November 14, 1996 as stated in these references:

1. Inquirer.net https://cebudailynews.inquirer.net/350717/miss-universe-philippines-2020-calls-for-fellow-ilonggos-to-give-donations-for-typhoon-victims

5. Panay News https://www.panaynews.net/red-is-power-ilonggos-paint-the-city-red-to-welcome-rabiya-mateo-home-2/

I think these references are already enough. Thank you. CCstrong (talk) 06:48, 15 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

Semi-protected edit request on 16 November 2020 edit

please change Rabiya Occeña Sundall Mateo to Rabiya Occeña Mateo Hashmi [1]

please change January 11, 1996 to November 14, 1996 [2] Musixaaa (talk) 13:02, 16 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

  • Request #1 not done - even the reference cited calls this person "Rabiya Mateo." However, if you can provide other evidence that her full common name or full legal name is "Rabiya Occeña Mateo Hashmi" please make a new request, separate from any other request.
  • Request #2 not done - the section above this one which presented evidence of an alternative date of birth was opened a few days ago, give editors time to discuss it before requesting this edit. I put {{disputed inline}} next to the existing date of birth to alert readers of the discussion above. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 17:07, 16 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

Change Rabiya Occeña Sundall Mateo into Rabiya Occeña Mateo QueenBarbieSteffieSmith (talk) 15:13, 19 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

Partly done @QueenBarbieSteffieSmith: I'm assuming this is an edit request. I've split the difference and change it to just "Rabiya Mateo" in the opening sentence and removed the birth name line from the infobox. I view this as a TEMPORARY "compromise" change pending a reliable source for the birth name and a reliable source and discussion for the name used in the first sentence.
All editors able to edit the page are invited to restore the birth name IF it can be backed by a reliable source. Others are invited to make a {{edit semi-protected}} request. Please do not add a birth name or request that it be edited without also providing a reliable source. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 17:11, 19 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
All editors are invited to start a new discussion-section about what name should be in the first sentence. Typically, this would either be the most common name she uses today in her professional life, optionally followed by (b. birth name goes here) if the birth name is backed by a reliable source. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 17:11, 19 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
UPDATE: NOT done per references in section immediately below this one. "Rabiya Occeña Sundall Mateo" is one of several forms of the name used by reliable sources, and it is the most complete one. For the first line and for the infobox "birth name" the complete name is preferred. I am taking it "on good faith" that the full name is the birth name, please revert (or ask that it be reverted) if that is not the case. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 15:03, 20 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
FURTHER UPDATE Another editor reverted my change, my earlier "temporary" solution is the current version. This means more discussion is required to find a WP:CONSENSUS. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 16:25, 20 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Musixaaa: please do not make this change unilaterally. You see here that there is no consensus for it. I agree with Davidwr's analysis, the source you gave still calls her "Rabiya Mateo". - Bri.public (talk) 18:01, 1 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

That's her real name. There's no Sundall on it. The term Sundall is a vulgar term. Her real name is Rabiya Occeña Mateo Hashmi. Hashmi is her father's surname. If you're planning to change it again, you can still rewrite it as Rabiya Occeña Mateo or Rabiya Mateo only. No SUNDALL. Please. Musixaaa (talk) 19:43, 1 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
