Not really. The combination of cell phones plus peering calls eliminating PSTN termination costs has made this business proposition very affordable. Ooma also has more than 25% of subs paying for premium services in addition to the actual box revenue. -- Rbuchanan (talk) 03:32, 8 July 2009 (UTC)

Ooma Telo

The Telo section is almost completely ripped off word for word from the engadget article. I rewrote it a little bit, but someone should probably rewrite the whole thing. Deputydog23 (talk) 01:29, 31 August 2009 (UTC)

Revamped website

Canada

There should be some reference to the fact that Ooma is now available in Canada, and includes calling anywhere in Canada except The Yukon, NWT and Nunavut. Prices etc are similar to those in the USA. JJ Bosch (talk) 17:56, 4 October 2012 (UTC)

Not Free.

The article should not read that it is "free" nor that there is no monthly fee.

"customers only pay applicable government taxes and access fees, around $3.50 a month" Should read "customers only pay only a small fee, around $3.50 a month, $4.50 in Canada" In many regions there are no access fees imposed by the government, and until Ooma makes it's books public to show that they collect no margin to cover their own operating expenses and that none of the "taxes" you are paying are those of Ooma, there is no evidence that there is anything entirely free, monthly, with Ooma.

The wording "government taxes and access fees" makes it unclear as to wether the access fees are those of government or those of Ooma or a blend of the two.

I have Ooma both in my US residence and my family's Canadian home. Their own information says the monthly charge covers their expenses, including taxes and fees.

I'm not complaining about Ooma, their service or support; we think it's a great deal... but it is not free every month. JJ Bosch (talk) 18:09, 4 October 2012 (UTC)

This is Mike from Ooma. The entry on our company had not been significantly edited for many months and was therefore very out of date.

I just made edits to update the entry, aiming to be factual rather than promotional.

I reworked those edits. Most of the changes ended up intact, but I reverted some changes that altered statements that were supported by references. If a figure is supported by a reference, you can't just change the number and leave the reference unchanged. That is misleading—once changed, the number is no longer supported by the reference. You have to provide a new reference that supports the new figure. If you want to make a change that contradicts the previous cited fact, even more is required, but that would go beyond what a COI editor could be allowed to do.--Srleffler (talk) 08:12, 1 January 2021 (UTC)

Can you advise me how to request an update to the financial information in the Ooma infobox? The data is from our 2017 fiscal year and should be for our 2020 fiscal year, which ended on Jan. 31, 2020.
