I think it is stretching it that it has lasted to 2012 Olympics. the original oarsome is a core group. LibStar (talk) 04:55, 20 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

I know what you mean and I bristled when I first heard the 2012 commentators refer to this version as an Oarsome Foursome. I think the point is about lineage and I have found and included three published citations referencing how the 2012 crew were titled by contemporary press. I was unable to find any press refs to the 2000 or 2004 men's 4- crews being called the Oarsome Foursome, so I guess that supports the argument that it's about direct lineage-Sticks66 13:55, 24 September 2012 (UTC)Reply
