History Nord Anglia Education was founded in 1972 by former teacher Kevin McNeany to teach English as a foreign language. The company grew in the 1970s and 1980s in that field, before moving into the UK educational market, followed by Eastern and Central Europe. In the late 1990s and early 2000s, the group also built up a substantial day-care nursery business, in addition to its Learning Services arm.( http://www.twst.com/interview/16423) By late 2008, Nord Anglia Education had sold its nursery business and was mainly focused on premium international schools (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/newsbysector/supportservices/2791392/Nord-Anglia-rejects-180m-Barings-bid.html).

In 2012, the group relocated to Hong Kong to complement growth plans in China and Southeast Asia. (http://www.classifiedpost.com/hk/recruiters/recruiter-resources/industry-insider/best-british-schooling) In May 2013, Nord Anglia Education acquired World Class Learning Group (previously known as British Schools of America http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Schools_of_America) ref: http://thepienews.com/news/wcl-group-sold-to-nord-anglia-education/), entering the North American market, whilst strengthening its presence in Europe and the Middle East.

Request Edit is a tool for requesting somebody make a specific edit. It's not realistic to expect someone to sort through the wall of text above, mine its sources and revise the article. Also, other Wikipedia articles cannot be used as sources and we generally do not cover future plans. For the HQ in the infobox, I would encourage you to go ahead and make the update. Conflict of interest edit

At least one major contributor to this article appears to have a close personal or professional connection to the topic, and thus to have a conflict of interest. Conflict-of-interest editors are strongly discouraged from editing the article directly, but are always welcome to propose changes on the talk page (i.e., here). You can attract the attention of other editors by putting {{request edit}} (exactly so, with the curly parentheses) at the beginning of your request, or by clicking the link on the lowest yellow notice above. Requests that are not supported by independent reliable sources are unlikely to be accepted.

Please also note that our Terms of Use state that "you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation." An editor who contributes as part of his or her paid employment is required to disclose that fact. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 13:17, 13 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

Head office edit

@RogueScholar: Hi! I notice that the Hong Kong project tag was removed from it. The reason why I included is that, at the time, the head office was in Hong Kong and not in the UK. The head office since returned to the UK (it was in HK for six years) WhisperToMe (talk) 21:52, 22 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

Notability Issues edit

The Schools listed in this article need to be assessed for notability, only about half actually are. Allan Nonymous (talk) 21:34, 23 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
