Engaged? edit

Nattie is not engaged, never has been.

Can someone please verify the engagement of Nattie Neidhart? I haven't seen this anywhere else. Thanks.MgHoneyBee 05:22, 4 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

I've read on various wrestling news sites that they are engaged. It was some time ago so I can't really provide a link. It doesn't help much I know but at least it's something.Kisshapedbullet 19:32, 13 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Can someone add dat Nattie defeated Lacey Von Erich is Lacey's debut match on october 9th. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.72.233.105 (talk) 08:11, 12 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Improvement on the relations? edit

In the second paragraph it says, She is the daughter of wrestler Jim The Anvil Neidhart , himself the son-in-law of Stu Hart, making her a third generation wrestler... wouldn't it be better put as She is the daughter of wrestler Jim The Anvil Neidhart, and the granddaughter of Stu Hart, making her a third generation wrestler. and shouldn't it be noted that she is also the niece of Owen Hart, Bret Hart, and The British Bulldog Davey Boy Smith? just figured i'd ask as in my opinion it says more that she is stu's granddaughter and saying less (with a lot more words) that her father is the son in law of Stu Hart. doesn't make sense to be in the article when her mom is stu's daughter...

We don't need to list everyone she's related to, that makes no sense. It's worded the way it is to also note how Neidhart and Hart are related at the same time.«»bd(talk stalk) 00:42, 23 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

I think the reason the article lists it like that though, is to reinforce that her wrestling lineage comes from both her paternal and maternal blood lines, rather than her just being the daughter of a wrestler who was the son of a wrestler. Maybe it'd be better to read "her father is Jim Neidhart and her maternal grandfather is Stu Hart". Tony2Times (talk) 20:38, 7 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Transition->Nattie Neidhart to Natalya Neidhart edit

Don't you think that the article, "Nattie Neidhart" should be renamed "Natalya Neidhart?" I do. It may not be much of a change, but it should take place. THE $R$ Habla!Hancock 01:47, 24 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

I think we should wait a while before changing as she's been known as Nattie on the independent scene for quite a few years and WWE might repackage or remodel her soon as she is new. Tony2Times (talk) 20:38, 7 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

I think the article should be moved. Although she may be known as Nattie on the independents, I think the more common wrestling fan would know her better through her biggest exposure, as Natalya in WWE. I think the number of casual fans who only watch WWE out number the fans who follow the independents. Also, seeing as how she debuted as Natalya Neidhart but is now simply known as Natalya, I think that may indicate WWE is going to stick with her character as is.HidyHoTim (talk) 06:42, 5 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

New theme edit

Since her new theme is a licensed production track should we list what production library it is from next to it? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.232.161.243 (talk) 13:37, 30 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned references in Nattie Neidhart edit

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Nattie Neidhart's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Mistake edit

This sentence is false "On January 5, 2007,[1] Neidhart signed a deal with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE),[11] making her the first third generation female wrestler in the history of the business.[12]". Signing a deal with WWE not making her the first third generation female wrestler in the history of the business, only the first third generation female wrestler in the history of the WWE. She is the first third generation female wrestler in the history of the business since her beginning in 2000. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.34.196.79 (talk) 13:30, 14 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Ok; It'll be another day or two before I get this reviewed, so it works on my end. Had to wrap up a bunch of abandoned reviews, just about done with that. Wizardman Operation Big Bear 05:56, 23 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Here are the issues I found:

  • "to form The Hart Dynasty. and moved to the SmackDown brand." first period's wrong.
  • Fixed. NiciVampireHeart 18:29, 26 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
  • "In late 2000 through to 2001," through or to could be removed.
  • Removed "to". NiciVampireHeart 18:29, 26 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
  • "making her the first third generation female wrestler in the history of WWE." it's a bit redundant, since you mention she was the first one period several sections up.
  • Removed. NiciVampireHeart 18:29, 26 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
  • "she was also involved a feud" in a feud
  • Fixed. NiciVampireHeart 18:29, 26 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
  • "she is cousin " a cousin
  • Fixed. NiciVampireHeart 18:29, 26 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Everything else looks fine, so I'll put the article on hold and pass it when the issues are fixed. Wizardman Operation Big Bear 04:14, 24 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Everything taken care of. Thanks again for the review. NiciVampireHeart 18:29, 26 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Move (2011) edit

The following discussion is an archived discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was: move to Natalya (wrestler). Consensus is that this shouldn't be moved to Natalya but to Natalya (something). Looking in the relevant categories it appears that (wrestler) is the most common disambiguator. Dpmuk (talk) 01:30, 21 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Nattie NeidhartNatalya — Natalya has been competing under this name for I think 3 or 4 years now and has won the Divas Title under her current ring name.--Voices in my Head WrestleMania XXVII 20:06, 13 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Should this page be listed as Natalya Neidhart since that is her full name, I've always thought adding "wrestler" to somebodies name is unnecessary when they go by their surname. JUST USE THE SURNAME — Preceding unsigned comment added by Freshman5000 (talkcontribs) 14:34, 21 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

Pin-up Strong edit

Apparently, the Beth/Natalya team-up has changed names from Divas of Doom/Destruction/Salvation to Pin-up Strong(as of 5th December 2011). Give it a month or so, then I guess we put it in? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 202.156.11.12 (talk) 15:37, 7 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

Give it time. They've used about 100 different names up until this point, so there's no telling if that's the final one. --Jtalledo (talk) 02:28, 8 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

New Gimmick edit

I know it's puerile and hasn't led to any matches yet, but there should probably be a mention of her current farting gimmick since it's been going on a while and appears to be a long-term thing.2.25.47.196 (talk) 20:58, 6 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Natalya (wrestler)Natalya Neidhart – As seen here the full name was still used barely a year ago. Per WP:NATDAB we should not use (wrestler) 10 chars when we can use Neidhart, only 8 chars. --Relisted. George Ho (talk) 05:27, 7 July 2015 (UTC) Ranze (talk) 01:15, 30 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

agree with move on the basis of WP:NATURAL "Natural disambiguation: If it exists, choose an alternative name that the subject is also commonly called in English reliable sources, albeit not as commonly as the preferred-but-ambiguous title."
per used titles such as Oprah Winfrey and Johann Sebastian Bach that present a fuller form of name even though no disambiguation is required and as per WP:MONONYM.
per the theatrical, mock combat of pro wrestling not fitting dictionary and commonname definitions of wrestling. Professional wrestling, as it has been called, is an indisputably successful artform but, as far as definitions of competitive sport go, its not wrestling.
ping Ranze GregKaye 06:38, 8 July 2015 (UTC)Reply
@GregKaye: I personally disagree and find (wrestler) simpler than (professional wrestler), I would only see it necessary if there were already another person with the exact same name who is some other kind of wrestler. It's kind of moot though since we both seem to be okay with doing away with the parenthesis.
Natalie Neidhart's listed on IMDB since their policy is to use real names but I'm figuring she's more well known as Natalya (via WWE) than via her IRL name of Natalie (which probably only comes up on Total Divas).
Although... the time may be approaching to acknowledge that some divas' exposure on Total Divas on E! is actually more notable than their exposure as a wrestler on Raw/Smackdown. I would certainly say that of Eva Marie, Natalya hasn't been active much in wrestling either but not to the same degree of contrast, and she has years of experience prior to Total Divas which makes me still think that Natalya outweighs Natalie in notability. Natalya (wrestler)Natalya Neidhart – per WP:NATDAB. Natalya shortened from her previous name Natalya Neidhart. Sekyaw (talk) 00:43, 12 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

  • Oppose- She has never used or wrestled under that name. They have actually made it a point to distance her from her father's name. Feedback 12:46, 14 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
    • According to the info in the article, she was introduced as Natalya Neidhart, and is also supported by an RS. Sekyaw (talk) 01:25, 19 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
    • Additionally, correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't being a Neidhart part of her character? Surely, it isn't her entire gimmick, but WWE is definitely not distancing herself away from the name at all. Sekyaw (talk) 01:34, 19 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
  • Support- They have definitely referred to her as Neidhart at points. In difference to a lot of wrestlers who has had their names shortened in WWE her last name is actually relevant since she come from a wrestling family and said heritage is very often mentioned, too much sometimes honestly.*Treker (talk) 01:42, 19 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
  • Weak support She's frequently referred to as a Neidhart and this article does source a WWE article which describes her as "Natalya Neidhart", so WP:NATDAB may apply, although she's typically not billed with her surname.LM2000 (talk) 02:30, 19 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
    • She started being billed as Natalya Neidhart until it was shortened to Natalya, stated prior to her SmackDown debut as the article states. That also provided a ref and I duplicated it and added it into the infobox alongside Natalya Neidhart. Sekyaw (talk) 18:55, 19 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
  • Support She's accomplished in her own right, but being Jim Neidhart's daughter has always loomed over everything. Entrance music, signature moves, ring name, alliances, attire. Like Batman's parents' shadow, but pink. This first-name-for-Divas business was fun while it lasted, but the Women's Championship is back, and modern society in 2016 is on the cusp of the post-Beyoncé world. Less Malibu Stacy, more Lisa Lionheart. "Lita" and "Chyna" are always OK, of course. "Maven" and "Stephanie", not so much. InedibleHulk (talk) 05:16, 20 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
  • Keep in mind The way WWE bills her likely has a lot more to do with justifying their trademark than defining her character. "The name(s), portrait(s), and/or signature(s) shown in the mark does not identify a particular living individual." InedibleHulk (talk) 05:22, 20 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
