- Ok, so I'm about halfway done with the translation of the content at fr:Natalie Dessay. I have no idea if the content itself is accurate, but I know the translation is. Article tone edit
I haven't yet tried to read the French wikipedia article on Natalie Dessay, but the English version was much too hagiographic and read too much like a PR release or a besotted fan's writing. Probe into earlier years edit
What prize did she actually win in competition "Voix Nouvelles"? First or second?
In the English Wikipedia, it has always been the First until the edit that resulted in this version. In the French version, the "Second Prize" claim was introduced in this 27 June 2008 edit. Can't help being suspicious, despite the fact that it is also stated on Warner Classics artist's page.
On the official page of competition, Dessay is first listed among the laureates, which may imply that she won the Premier Prix. Another evidence claiming the first is Dessay's short bio on page 16 of the performance menu of Le roi l'a dit (referred to as "short bio" below). It looks like older materials would claim the first while the second claim appeared from seemingly nowhere.

Already changed the Second Prize of "Voix Nouvelles" to the First in light of the 2001 news article by Libération (used as citation).
