No primary topic for this title edit

Between the fourth-largest city in Afghanistan, Mazar-i-Sharif, and the type of mausoleum, Mazar (mausoleum), I don't feel there is a clear WP:primary topic for this title. Perhaps the city is the PT in Afghanistan, but the mausoleum is PT elsewhere. If you feel that there is a primary topic, I suggest starting a WP:RM discussion. – Wbm1058 (talk) 17:10, 1 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

I removed Mazar-i-Sharif from this list: nobody ever calls it "Mazar". Loew Galitz (talk) 20:13, 2 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

– Clearly, Mazar (mausoleum) is the main meaning, both etymologically and by an enormous number of incoming links. Loew Galitz (talk) 20:13, 2 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

  • Procedural oppose there's a 2020 note at Mazar (mausoleum) (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) about it overlapping with mausoleum and a 2015 note on the talk page Talk:Mazar (mausoleum) (edit | article | history | links | watch | logs) about merging it with shrine. Those issues should be dealt with first, to see if there is still an article left afterwards. Or if all of its content are merged into mausoleum and shrine -- 64.229.88.43 (talk) 03:51, 4 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
    • The procedural note speaks about the overlap of the content. And this is simply because it lists major majestic mazars which are translated as "mausoleum". And nobody cares about mazars for minor village saints, which hardly make way into wikipedia. THe 2015 noite is answered as ignorant. Loew Galitz (talk) 19:27, 4 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
  • Procedural oppose, per above, and oppose, per there clearly being a huge variety of different things to disambiguate between and substantial case for having a disambiguation page as the primary destination. Iskandar323 (talk) 07:43, 4 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
    • There is no "huge variety". All listed items are individual mazars. Loew Galitz (talk) 19:27, 4 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

Non-Muslim shrines? edit

Pls add this on the mausoleum page, if there are indeed such mazars. Here is not the place for minor exceptions ("often but not always Muslim..."). Pls continue discussion there, not here. Thanks, Arminden (talk) 14:21, 27 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
