Emblem of the association edit

Hi, i have uploaded the emblem of the association, however i am not great with working with images. Clearly the jpeg i created does not efficiently use the space properly. If someone could edit the image so that it does, this would be good. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Faito (talkcontribs) 06:50, 16 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

It took me many attempts, as i am a bit wiki-illiterate, but i finally got that picture edited and uploaded. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Faito (talkcontribs) 04:32, 18 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

No major edits (deletions) without discussion edit

To the person who deleted the whole article, why? Did you find evidence that the information was inaccurate? Please could you tell me what Matkot club you play at?

I suggest in accordance with wiki policy, all major changes are discussed first. Thanks. 220.235.135.50 00:54, 16 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Removed dubious info edit

I removed two dubious sections:

  • The section about International Matkot Association. I have never heard of it, i can't find it on Google, and its Hebrew name is written with a blatant spelling mistake. Looks like a hoax to me.
  • The section about "Matkot and the Zionist Psyche". It's very interesting, but completely sourceless.

Please correct me if i'm wrong. --Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 13:57, 1 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Etymology of "Kadima" edit

What is the etymology of "Kadima"? Badagnani (talk) 18:44, 28 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

"Kadima" means "forward". There is no clever etymology beyond that.
It also happens to be a name of a political party. --Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 20:39, 28 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

That's the first time that I hear about the name Kadima. I know just about Matkot. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.228.234.237 (talk) 17:35, 21 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Gameplay? edit

Why are the actual rules not covered at all in this article? Someone should definitely add them.69.141.14.51 (talk) 20:00, 24 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

There are no rules. This is just a recreational beach activity like playing catch or building a sandcastle. —Mrwojo (talk) 22:26, 31 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

International popularity edit

The article indicates that the sport has "developed a moderate level of popularity outside of Israel" and is "highly popular" in Brazil and "widespread" in Italy, yet this article in Haaretz (currently the only reference in the article) includes a claim that matkot "has so far not been a big hit anywhere other than here [in Israel]". Can a source be offered to support the claims that are in the article? If the claims cannot be attribued to a reliable source, then they should be removed. -- Black Falcon (talk) 04:33, 24 March 2010 (UTC)Reply
