Did he swim up or down river? edit

It would be interesting to know whether he swam up or down these rivers—only one is specified. Also, are you sure there are sharks in the Amazon river? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.125.149.167 (talk) 16:47, 19 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Having just watched "Big River Man" (which is in my opinion an excellent film) I can report that the swims shown in the film were (unsurprisingly) downstream. These are nevertheless extraordinary feats of endurance, involving swims equivalent to many kilometers in still water each day for weeks and even months, carried out in very hazardous waters. To grasp the scale of the achievement, I would recommend watching the film.Orbitalforam (talk) 12:14, 1 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Sources about achievements edit

I'm wondering where the information about achievements comes from, especially about Farallon Islands swim? No mention on Strel's web page (http://www.martinstrel.com/main.php?S=1&Folder=11) - maybe isn't updated? And of course no mention of him on https://longswims.com/events/farallon-islands/ Urbe2 (talk) 17:50, 16 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
