Swedish

edit

Why the constant changes regarding her being English-Swedish? She spent most of her childhood in Sweden. Her mother is Swedish. She moved to London at age 18. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.238.182.114 (talk) 20:47, 6 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Frustrating. This is sabotage by an unnamed user. No link even states she has a British passport. Maybe he has an agenda? Fantomen73 (talk) 20:21, 7 March 2024 (UTC) .Reply
It's a banned long term abuse user performing sock evasion of User:Dealer07. You may revert them on sight, they have no editing rights on Wikipedia. Canterbury Tail talk 20:27, 7 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
OK, thank you for the answer. I am not 100% sure what sock evasion means, but I THINk I do. Thank you again. Fantomen73 (talk) 20:40, 7 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
It means their account has been blocked for disruption but they keep coming back with other accounts (also all blocked) and non-logged in edits. They're community banned for socking and disrupting so much. Canterbury Tail talk 20:48, 7 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thanks you for the explanation Fantomen73 (talk) 20:56, 7 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Ivy to Roses article

edit

Upon looking at the various articles created for Mabel’s singles, should there perhaps be a separate article for Mabel’s mixtape, Ivy to Roses? Let me know your thoughts. DarkGlow (talk) 22:14, 23 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

Possibly, depending on where it charts.--Launchballer 22:44, 23 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
Do mixtapes chart? And considering it has several "hits" on, is that merit for a separate article? DarkGlow (talk) 22:51, 23 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
It's an album in all but name, I can see no convincing reason why not. Has it received significant independent coverage in reliable sources?--Launchballer 22:57, 23 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

Semi-protected status: justification always required

edit

The article is Semi-protected. I think the Talk page should explain why, whenever this is done. —DIV (1.144.108.197 (talk) 04:53, 1 July 2019 (UTC))Reply

Mabel's article is protected until 23 July 2019 because people kept adding unsourced and untrue information about her nationality and citizenship. – DarkGlow (talk) 08:16, 1 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

About the album of some singles.

edit

I think all of singles' according album should be displayed.

e.g.: "Ring Ring" belongs to following albums: Snacks (Supersize), Ivy to Roses, High Expectations, but in the article only High Expectations displayed. -- BrandNew Jim Zhang (talk) 02:55, 3 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

Don Cherry

edit

"Mabel is the daughter of Swedish singer Neneh Cherry [....] and granddaughter of jazz trumpeter Don Cherry." - as Don Cherry was not Neneh Cherry's birth father, the latter part isn't true -- ChrisTheDude (talk) 12:53, 2 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

I was just wondering that myself --- is there a correct term for it such as "half-nice" of "niece in law" or something silly like that lol ... I'll try and find out, but maybe someone with some genealogy experience will know, so I'll ping their group ...

Will likely need to be moved in the future

edit

The Mexican singer Mabel Vázquez (born 2008), credited as Mabel, means that this page is no longer unambiguous and Wikipedia dislikes partial disambiguation, so will probably need to be moved to Mabel (singer, born 1996) or Mabel (Swedish singer) (t · c) buidhe 06:16, 6 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

We can cross that bridge if Mabel Vázquez ever becomes notable enough for their own article. Canterbury Tail talk 11:24, 6 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
