Talk:List of beaches in San Diego County

Suggestion edit

Wouldn't this be more interesting if the article was expanded to cover "Beaches in San Diego County, California]]?

Also: As the article currently exists, it probably fits under the guidelines at WP:NOT, so I wouldn't be surprised if someone tried to PROD or AFD it. BlankVerse 12:18, 27 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Do not think that is necessary. There is already a California State Beaches article that lists all beaches by county. I made this article to link to off of San Diego's article, so it should be beaches with-in city limits. If you want one for the whole county, there should be another article created. At least that is what I think. -ChristopherMannMcKay 18:08, 27 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Imperial Beach edit

Shouldn't Imperial Beach be included as one of San Diego beaches.158.35.225.230 18:24, 13 April 2007 (UTC) Also, since there are beaches mentioned that are in the towns outside of San Diego, might as well list them all the way up to Oceanside Beach.158.35.225.230 18:29, 13 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

There are no "beaches mentioned that are in the towns outside of San Diego" listed on this article, that is why Imperial Beach is not listed, beacuse it is not a beach with-in San Diego city limits. I do not believe this article should cover beaches in San Diego County beacuse California State Beaches article that lists all beaches by county. —Christopher Mann McKay 18:40, 13 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
Actually the California State Beaches article only covers State Beaches, there are only a very few of those, that list is not by any means a list of all the beaches in California, which would be many times as long. State Beaches are sort of like State Parks. The term does not simply mean a beach in the State of California. Invertzoo (talk) 17:38, 1 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
We also have an article "List of California beaches". That list is not complete or detailed, but I guess it is a useful overview of the general topic. Invertzoo (talk) 19:54, 4 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

I decided to "Be Bold" edit

And so... I reworked this article and fixed it up quite a lot. I think it looks a lot better in several ways, for example before it had no references at all. I dismantled the gallery, found some better images and matched them to the listings. Tomorrow I can add references for the second list. Invertzoo (talk) 00:34, 2 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Pretty much all fixed up now, at least for the time being. Invertzoo (talk) 17:51, 3 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

  • Support both. No need to unnecessarily disambiguate, especially as inconsistently as this with one having state and the other country. Zarcadia (talk) 22:40, 17 April 2015 (UTC)Reply
  • Support both, San Diego redirects to the city in California, and not to the other locations named San Diego per WP:PRIMARYUSAGE; same goes for Sydney. Therefore, list should follow this naming.--RightCowLeftCoast (talk) 04:20, 23 April 2015 (UTC)Reply
