Suggested usage

Suggested usage. Perhaps it would be a good idea to reserve "Paris RER" categorisation for proper articles about the subject - ie, not stubs about individual stations. These can easily go in this List of stations of the Paris RER. This way there will be a means of sifting thru the mountains of station pages to the ones with useful information. Opening dates for each station

The List of stations of the Paris Métro has opening dates for each station. The List of stations of the Paris RER should also have opening dates for each station.

Proposal: standardize RER station-name format in article titles

The format for RER station names in article titles is a mess. Currently, most are Javel (Paris RER) and (where appropriate) Javel (Paris Metro and RER). But some are Javel station and a few are Gare de Javel.

The biggest issue is the last group, since "gare" just means "station". In general we should not be leaving common nouns untranslated and expecting readers to understand French. There are exactly three exceptions, namely the historic Paris terminus stations Gare du Nord, Gare de Lyon, and Gare d'Austerlitz. These are referred to systematically with the "Gare" prefix, by foreign tourists (who might not even know what "gare" means) and locals alike. They are the only exceptions to the rule. See the French version of this list for proof. Right now this problem only seems to concern Gare d'Auber (see its talk page for previous debate).

The second issue is the third group. Surely the correct approach here is that Javel station refers to a station on the RER network and also the main SNCF rail network. There are lots of these cases, where the station existed before the RER.

As a minimal fix, I therefore propose three general categories:

- Javel (Paris RER) / Javel (Paris RER and Metro) - where the station only hosts one or both of these networks

- Javel station - where the station hosts RER and also SNCF

- Gare de Javel - for Gare du Nord, Gare de Lyon and Gare d'Austerlitz only
