Season 2 edit

When are the individual pages for the episodes from series 2 going up? 220.253.83.191 (talk) 13:01, 12 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

As soon as someone adds them. But you gotta have enough information. A short synopsis, the plot description (the more detailed the better) All the credits, any cultural references and since the show has quite a bit of music, add the songs that were played in the episode. Maybe the reaction (neislen ratings, a few reviews, or if a certain group of people got offended) I added some things to the first season when it came out, but I really don't feel like doing it for season 2. Viewing figures edit

Wow! Did season 4 really have only 1 million- viewers? That's a bit weird. 77.251.46.60 (talk) 00:02, 31 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

The show is on Showtime. Not everyone gets Showtime it's on the premium channels that cost extra money. - Alec2011 (talk) 07:33, 5 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Season Pages edit

The article is getting too long. Why don't we split it up now? 69.115.133.93 (talk) 03:02, 20 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

Because there isn't enough information about the individual seasons to justify creating them. You've proposed individual season pages on a for a number of different shows, but I never see you actually do anything about making it happen. If you want to dig through dozens of articles and interviews to find enough information about each season to warrant creating them, you are more than welcome to. Just keep in mind that a season page has to be more than a cast list, episode table and DVD cover image, otherwise it will just be redirected back to here. And the quality isn't exactly brilliant anyway. This is possibly the worst sentence I've ever seen: "Hank and Karen decide to teach Becca a lesson about the life of a rock musician by taking her to Atticus' home as an example who during their time there meet (Marilyn Manson) but both decide to leave after observing antics from Atticus and Manson who then Becca decides to stay for a bit to hang out with her idol which she then leaves abruptly after an antic from him." I've not seen the episode so I can't correct it, but would someone like to improve it? 90.204.51.221 (talk) 21:47, 4 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

Air Dates for Season 6 edit

The article currently states that episode 4 aired on February 3, 2013, while source exists [ http://epguides.com/californication/ ] saying it was in fact a week later, on February 10 [this in turn affects all later release dates]. The article was edited in this matter earlier today, so instead of editing it back and starting a war I mention it here. — Preceding unsigned comment added by DonPedroMCh (talkcontribs) 13:42, 21 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Seems like some contributors like to use the TV air dates from SHO.com and not the SHO On Demand or Showtime Anytime air dates. For example, the article states that episode 6 aired February 24, 2013 when it was released on On Demand and Showtime Anytime on February 18, 2013. Are there guidelines for what is "Original air date" and what isn't? If the world gets the episode minutes after it's finished on SHO On Demand/Showtime Anytime, the "original" air date isn't when it's on public TV.
No episode was aired on Feb. 3rd, to avoid competition with the Superbowl. 6x06 originally aired this evening, on Feb. 24th, but was made available on demand a week earlier. Original air date refers to the date on which the episode was originally broadcast for public viewing and not the date it was made available online, or by any other means. -- SchrutedIt08 (talk) 07:02, 25 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
While this is not a vote, I have to agree that in my opinion "airdate" refers to the period in which the show is broadcast as part of a network schedule, rather than released via other outlets whether that be some sort of "on demand" service or internet download (iTunes, etc.). Showtime's website lists the first broadcast of these episodes where S06E06 was broadcast on the 24th not the 17th because that's when it was originally broadcast as part of the schedule. 75.185.150.106 (talk) 19:00, 25 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
SchrutedIt08, is this an opinion? Or a general consensus? If the latter, is there a document about these kinds of things, e.g. like a sort of "unwritten" rules kind of document? Because my opinion would go actually the other way. I would argue that the first date that the episode becomes available through official means, is the original air date. In this case Showtime decides when to air it, and it's their decision to make it available to the public a week earlier. Xiph1980 (talk) 13:09, 26 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
Quoted from Template:Episode list: "OriginalAirDate = This is the date the episode first aired on TV, or is scheduled to air." -- SchrutedIt08 (talk) 23:51, 26 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
Fair enough. I would then argue though that that parameter is perhaps starting to become a bit out-dated, seeing as classical TV channels and TV programming are more and more fading into a sort-of On-Demand / Pay-Per-View system. It's already starting to happen, and you can predict that that's not going to stop, now that the content management systems are starting to mature, and broadband internet is becoming a default utility. Anyway, that's more for the talk page of that template. Thank you for the link :) Xiph1980 (talk) 16:31, 27 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Air Dates for Season 7 edit

Currently incorrect. Multiple sources seem to back up the listing, but a browse of certain websites show when the episodes were available online for download.

Episodes 1 and 2 aired on the same day. Dates for following episodes are off by one week. --Agitier (talk) 23:16, 2 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
