Requested move 8 February 2022
edit- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.
The result of the move request was: Leila Lopes (Brazilian actress) → Leila Lopes (actress) and Leila Lopes (Angolan actress) → Leila Lopes. There is a clear consensus against the status quo, but opinion is divided 5-4 between the Roman Spinner proposal and the Jjj1238 proposal. The difference in opinion boils down to whether the Angolan Leila Lopes is the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC for "Leila Lopes". The case for the Angolan Leila Lopes as PRIMARYTOPIC is slightly stronger both numerically and on the strength of the arguments presented. - Leila Lopes (Angolan actress) → Leila Lopes (model)
- Leila Lopes (Brazilian actress) → Leila Lopes (actress)
– The article for Angolan Leila Lopes makes no mention of any acting credits, and even if she has acted in the past, it is far from what she is most notable for (modeling and Miss Universe) and it makes no sense to define her as such. It also creates unnecessary confusion with the Brazilian Leila Lopes, who was actually notable for being an actress. Reverting to the previous "Leila Lopes (Miss Universe)" title is also fine with me. { [ ( jjj 1238 ) ] } 11:44, 8 February 2022 (UTC)
- Oppose Leila Lopes (Angolan actress) → Leila Lopes (model) and support Leila Lopes (Brazilian actress) → Leila Lopes (actress). As far as the Angolan Leila Lopes (who is not an actress) is concerned, would support Leila Lopes (Angolan actress) → Leila Lopes and Leila Lopes → deleted to make room for move. Miss Universe is a the world's most exalted beauty title, while the Brazilian actress, who died 12 years ago, was primarily known in the Portuguese-speaking world and is virtually unknown in the English-speaking world. A glance at Category:Miss Universe winners confirms that, among the 72 entries, only the unilaterally-moved Margaret Gardiner (Miss Universe), whose main title header should be returned to Margaret Gardiner, uses a parenthetical qualifier. A hatnote atop the entry for the Angolan Miss Universe, pointing to the Brazilian actress, would suffice. —Roman Spinner (talk • contribs) 23:21, 8 February 2022 (UTC)
- Support per nom. No primary topic. -- Necrothesp (talk) 13:45, 9 February 2022 (UTC)
- Support the suggestion proposed by User:Roman Spinner. There does appear to be a primary topic here in usage in English language sources and in page views. While I see there is a !vote claiming no primary topic, I would like to know the rationale there so we can examine it.--Yaksar (let's chat) 17:06, 9 February 2022 (UTC)

- Support per nom. Showiecz (talk) 19:48, 10 February 2022 (UTC)
- Weak Support. Pageviews here. Angolan Leila gets 136 daily pageviews, and Brazilian Leila gets 30. I don't think such a difference rises to the "much more likely than any other single topic" threshold for WP:PTOPIC, and would prefer a dab at the basename to avoid mistargeted wikilinks. For relatively obscure subjects like this, I'm looking for at least an order of magnitude difference in pageviews to establish a ptopic. Colin M (talk) 18:55, 18 February 2022 (UTC)
- Support the suggestion proposed by User:Roman Spinner. This is a WP:TWODABS case, with one article having a much clearer claim to being a primary topic by dint of its subject appearing on a world stage. BD2412 T 06:59, 25 February 2022 (UTC)
- Support the suggestion proposed by User:Roman Spinner. I say this as the creator of the disambiguation page - the model is (now?) the primary topic. For example, the first two pages of results from Google Books are all talking about her. StAnselm (talk) 01:36, 6 March 2022 (UTC)
