Update Photo edit

We need to get a current photo of Hinrich on the Bulls (2012-Present) in the infobox, one with him wearing goggles. can someone do that? NBA2030 (talk) 00:46, 23 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

Untitled edit

I couldn't figure out how to edit the article, but I thought people should know that Kirk Hinrich was really born January 2, 1981, not February. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 141.156.91.65 (talkcontribs) 17:58, June 18, 2005 (UTC)

GAC edit

This article was judged on 7 criteria:

  1. Well-written: Pass
  2. Factually accurate: Pass
  3. Broad: Pass
  4. Neutrally written: Pass
  5. Stable: Pass
  6. Well-referenced: Pass
  7. Images: Pass

Congratulations! The article passes. I would like to note, however, that it would be a good idea for someone to in the first instance of terms like apg to define them like so: apg (assists per game), rather than simply linking them. This is not a big enough deal in my opinion, however, to fail the well-written criteria, or even move it to "neutral". --PresN 18:10, 25 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the review, I'll get get started on converting "apg" to apg (assists per game), etc, etc soon. KOS | talk 19:27, 25 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

I'd say yes there should be. KOS | talk 11:46, 15 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Punch to groin on Flip Murray edit

The article cited says "A video on YouTube provides a replay of the ABC broadcast, which appears to show Hinrich throwing left-handed jab that connected with Murray's groin as he was falling away near the basket. "I didn't think he did it on purpose," Murray said. An NBA spokesman said there would be no action taken against Hinrich." Is this addition to the article "On May 13th, 2007, during Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals against the Detroit Pistons, Hinrich was involved in controversy when videotape review showed Hinrich punching Flip Murray with a left to the groin as Murray went up to take a shot." really relevant? I'd say no because they kinda say different things. The way it's written in the article now makes it seem like Hinrich tried to hit him. When the article cited article seems to imply that it was an accident. Thoughts? KOS | talk 11:46, 15 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hinrick edit

When you search Kirk Hinrick, you end up on Kirk Hinrich, but Talk:Kirk Hinrick doesn't go anywhere. Why? And how do we get a link to this page? Basketballone10 00:24, 5 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Summary of 2007-2008 season? edit

Can a section be added to Hinrich's page about his outstanding 07-08 season?

I know some may think this page should a Pro-Hinrich page that over-glorifies his mediocrity, but if we're going to have a synopsis of how great he was every season, lets stay consistent. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.173.142.235 (talk) 23:31, 17 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

GA Reassessment edit

This discussion is transcluded from Talk:Kirk Hinrich/GA1. The edit link for this section can be used to add comments to the reassessment. This article has been reviewed as part of Wikipedia:WikiProject Good articles/Project quality task force in an effort to ensure all listed Good articles continue to meet the Good article criteria. In reviewing the article, I have found there are a number of issues that need to be addressed.

  • It is reasonably well written.
    a (prose):   b (MoS):
The prose is generally of a very high standard, execept for the section on his international career. Here there are short paragraphs and unclear passages, particularly after the quote. These should be incorporated into a single, coherent, paragraph.--Jackyd101 (talk) 00:09, 7 September 2008 (UTC)Reply
  • It is factually accurate and verifiable.
a (references):   b (citations to reliable sources):   c (OR):
  • It is broad in its coverage.
    a (major aspects):   b (focused):
Two problems here 1) the article is obviously out of date. Please expand it to included developments in the last year both domestically and internationally and 2) there is no mention (outside the lead) of his personal life. Please include a small section containing all relevant information on this aspect of his life, including the information contained in the lead.
  • It follows the neutral point of view policy.
a (fair representation):   b (all significant views):
  • It is stable.

  • It contains images, where possible, to illustrate the topic.
a (tagged and captioned):   b (lack of images does not in itself exclude GA):   c (non-free images have fair use rationales):
  • Overall:
    a Pass/Fail:

I will check back in no less than seven days. If progress is being made, the article will remain listed as a Good article. Otherwise, it may be delisted (such a decision may be challenged through WP:GAR). If improved after it has been delisted, it may be nominated at WP:GAN again. Feel free to drop a message on my talk page if you have any questions, and many thanks for all the hard work that has gone into this article thus far. Regards,--Jackyd101 (talk) 00:09, 7 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Unfortunately, it seems like some sentences in the article may be copyvios. For example: "Nacke hesitated at first—the camp was for fourth-, fifth- and sixth-graders. But the Hinrichs were insistent, Kirk included." [1]. Someone want to help me scrutinize the text? Zagalejo^^^ 01:45, 8 September 2008 (UTC)Reply
I've paraphrased the stuff lifted from Jockbio. But I could use some help checking the rest of the article for copyvios. It seems like the college section has a few. Zagalejo^^^ 02:12, 8 September 2008 (UTC)Reply
OK, I've paraphrased all the problematic content from the college section. There don't seem to be any other copyvio issues in the article, but it would be nice if someone double-checks. Zagalejo^^^ 05:59, 8 September 2008 (UTC)Reply
I updated the article several days ago. If you need any help, just let me know.—Chris! ct 00:25, 9 September 2008 (UTC)Reply
The personal life and 2007-08 sections are very skimpy, and I hope someone undertakes to regularly update this article over time and fill out the short sections. However, as everything I asked for above has been sorted out I am passing this GA review. Well done also on catching the copyvios.--Jackyd101 (talk) 22:41, 13 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Personal life edit

Hi, this is a warning that the personal life information in this article is much too short. Any biography that is of GA standard must have at least one well organised paragraph describing the persons life outside of their field for which they are famous or otherwise incorporate that information elsewhere in the text. This article does not provide enough information on the person in question and does not give enough context for the incidents and information that is mentioned. For an example of how such a section might look, see Brian Urlacher and for pointers on how to expand and improve the section, see this guide. If this information is not improved then this article would be unlikely to survive a Good Article Reassessment and may well be delisted in the future. Thanks --Jackyd101 (talk) 10:25, 30 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Glory Road edit

Was he really cast as a player on Glory Road? That's what it says on the Glory Road article, but there's no sources. CollisionCourse (talk) 09:01, 25 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

According to an old Chicago Tribune article (Sam Smith. "Skiles lauds Chandler's play; Coach calls game 7-footer's best yet". November 21, 2005. Sports, pg. 5), he was offered a role, but turned it down "because of time constraints". Zagalejo^^^ 19:01, 25 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Trade to Wizards edit

On NBA draft night the bulls traded Kirk Hinrich to the wizards for the 17th pick in the nba draft and a future 2nd round pick. see story here http://voices.washingtonpost.com/wizardsinsider/2010/06/report-wizards-trade-for-kirk.html —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rocker368 (talkcontribs) 01:27, 1 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Typing Hinrich on wikipedia edit

if you type Hinrich on wikipedia at the bottom it will say Kirk Hinrich, German Basketball player.... why would they say he is a german basketball player. certainly he is probably of german heritage with a last name like that, but he is a born and breed american citizen. i find it a bit rediculous that he is listed as a german citizen when there is no source to suggest he has immediate german family who live in germany. he was born in iowa. so that should be changed or explained to further detail. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Conqueror Mat (talkcontribs) 06:28, 30 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

I assume you're talking about the article Hinrich. I changed the description there. I'm pretty sure it's just a mistake; he's not a German citizen. Zagalejo^^^ 00:34, 31 March 2013 (UTC)Reply
