GENRE edit

Style edit

I corrected the formatting on one of the releases, Seen here. The same needs to be done with the others. We don't need the song length, duet details, version or statues as old/new material. All song should also has "...." on either end. — Realist2 00:52, 23 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

  • I disagree. It is an interesting piece of information for fans and collectors, especially when there are previously unreleased songs / versions. --LiterallySimon (talk) 11:44, 23 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
    • Readers can follow the source if they want the finer details. — R2 13:27, 23 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
      • The sources/sleeves aren't always correct or don't give information about the version. Example: Is It Scary (Radio Edit) which in fact is not on the CD; Carousel also exists in a shorter version --LiterallySimon (talk) 17:20, 23 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
  • I've noticed extended (and linked) lists of writers and producers being added. I think this is extreme overkill. Not only are all 32 tracklists similar, but it just slows the page down. How about a policy of only including this sort of info on original albums? Since these are all reissues and not new songs, this sort of info can all be found in the original album page, and doesn't need repeating everywhere the songs is issued.

Dutch Release Date edit

I'm not sure how to do this, but the Dutch release date has been put back to August 29th (see Bol.com). Perhaps someone can update the release dates table. --TomFriend08 (talk) 10:22, 25 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Swedish Track Listing edit

I found an image of the back of the Swedish version that contains the track list. Should the tracks be added?

--TehRandomPerson (talk) 00:32, 27 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

We need a reliable source for it. There should be the official Swedish King of pop site somewhere. — Realist2 00:54, 27 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
  • I've added the tracklist with www.kingofpop.se as the source. - Aphasia83 (talk) 01:58, 27 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

I've recently finished putting together a comparison of setlists for the world tours, see List of Michael Jackson tours, and I'm wondering if it might be more useful to have the same thing on this page? Wikipedia could compare the various international releases, a column for each. Otherwise, this page is quite long, and difficult to use. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.141.22.84 (talk) 17:17, 18 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Artwork edit

Has anybody thought about inserting each countries' respective artwork in the article? MaJic (talk) 17:46, 21 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

You would need a really good fair use rational to use images that are nearly identical. — Realist2 17:55, 21 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Formatting edit

i think it would be more convenient if the tracklistings were formatted like featured here. - MaJic —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.87.205.111 (talk) 11:43, 14 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

  • I think I agree, would you like to do it? I'm not good at all those tables etc. — Realist2 15:53, 14 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
    • i will try. its just a matter of cut and paste, i guess. MaJic (talk) 23:19, 15 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

I agree. This would then be the same as Visionary: The Video Singles, and would avoid the page being too long. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.141.18.157 (talk) 10:46, 6 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

France edit

Apparently it was released in France, we need sources for the release date and track list. — Realist2 01:05, 16 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Done. — Realist2 16:46, 19 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

King of Pop nickname edit

This article states that "King of Pop" is "a reference to the same nickname Jackson acquired approximately 20 years ago." This is not accurate. Jackson gave the "nickname" to himself and his public relations and record companies then ordered the media (including MTV) to start referring to him as the "King of Pop." Far from being an term of affection bestowed upon him by fans, "King of Pop" was cynically manufactured by Jackson himself. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.86.120.41 (talk) 03:41, 13 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

That's called tabloid crap. Elizabeth Taylor was the first person to use it, it just caught on from there. — R2 10:54, 13 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Yes you are right Elizabeth Taylor was the person who gave Jackson the nickname. --ADKIc3mAnX (talk) 08:10, 2 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

1991 EW source edit

I've added the following as a source:

Any issues with this? 72.244.200.106 (talk) 19:14, 3 July 2009 (UTC).Reply

I've moved it to the background section, none of it is really relevant to the lead, but it fits nicely in that section. — Please comment R2 21:47, 3 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Vandalism in chronology edit

Who's the stupid cunt who keeps putting This Is it as the following album? You've done it about ten times now, and been reverted each time. That's just another compilation, and there ere are others between. Quit already.

Seriously, what's the point? Stop putting in the crap and leave it as it is. You will be reverted every the time. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.141.22.22 (talk) 23:43, 26 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Dead external links to Allmusic website – January 2011 edit

Since Allmusic have changed the syntax of their URLs, 1 link(s) used in the article do not work anymore and can't be migrated automatically. Please use the search option on http://www.allmusic.com to find the new location of the linked Allmusic article(s) and fix the link(s) accordingly, prefereably by using the Allmusic template. If a new location cannot be found, the link(s) should be removed. This applies to the following external links:
