Nobody would call into doubt that Foley can be described as Irish, but such an adjective does not tell the whole story of his nationality or his eligibility for citizenships. He is Irish by blood, and English by birth. It is therefore an oversimplification to just call him "Irish", and there is no valid reason to leave such an oversimplification in the opening sentence of the article. A fuller explanation of his dual (at least, whether either of his parents would lay claim to any other nationality I don't know) nationality can be left for later in the article where it can be explained properly. The key fact about international representation should be preserved in the lead. Kevin McE (talk) 18:43, 4 June 2012 (UTC)Reply
