Mugi's infactuation

My mistake regarding Ui and Azusa >_<

Previously I suggested that Azusa is the one with the extreme talent, but I realise this is a mistake on my part, after reading chapter 19.5. Ui is shown to be pretty good with the guitar when she tried to make up for Yui's absence during her flu by impersonating her sister and playing perfectly during band practice. And she gained that expertise after only a few days of playing.

Adding "allegedly" to the sentence "The characters of K-On! have surnames allegedly derived from members of the Japanese bands P-Model and The Pillows." doesn't lend it credibility. The source given isn't really sufficient for inclusion, so I'd be very tempted to remove the line completely due to WP:NOR and WP:VERIFY, at least until we can get a rock solid reference. But the news report is from a reputable company, which adds to WP:RS. Main vocalist: Yui or Mio?

The article says Mio is the main vocalist in the band. Shouldn't that be Yui?

Episode 5 of the anime shows that even though Mio was first appointed as singer, Yui got the job because Mio refused out of embarrassment. Subsequent episodes show that Mio merely sang because Yui couldn't due to her losing her voice (episode 5 and 6), forgetting the lyrics (episode 8) or simply forgetting her guitar and running home to retrieve it (episode 12). And even the After School Tea Time mini album that got released this week has Yui singing on pretty much all tracks. AO968 (talk) 22:14, 22 July 2009 (UTC)

Yui's Les Paul

For some reason, it was listed as a "Gibson Les Paul classic." this would have to be incorrect. Les Paul classics do not have pick up covers, Yui's guitar clearly has them. You know, pretty much every credible source from the manga scan used as this article's main image to Anime News Network to Yen Press' official site for the English manga adaptation lists the official romanization of this series as "K-ON!" with all caps. If using the correct form of K-ON! is "against policy", then first off the policy should be changed because this site is supposed to provide information, but all you're doing is confusing people. At least note in the article that it's supposed to be K-ON!. If you won't have "K-ON!" as the page name, then it should be "K-on!", because it's not two words, it's a stylization of one word. This is the same reason the band's name is "Ho-kago Tea Time", not "Ho-Kago Tea Time", which you did put correctly here. "K-ON!" would be ideal, "K-on!" would be acceptable, but "K-On!" is just nonsense. Alex T Snow (talk) 21:09, 18 October 2013 (UTC)

Giita

As someone who knows a fair bit of Kanji, Giita spelt as ギー太 makes little sense, unless it's intentional in the manga? I never saw it in the animé. Character section

The character section is a bit too long, and while almost all of it is sourced, isn't it already long enough to be split-off? Narutolovehinata5 ^tccsdnew 04:15, 21 August 2013 (UTC)

I feel like character lists are Wikipedia's dirty little secret. More often than not they're split off because of their sheer size, regardless of sourcing or how its written. At least this list does seem to be reasonably sourced and each individual summary isn't that long, although maybe each main character should have at most two paragraphs, and one paragraph for the other characters. The character section is a little less than half of this article's byte content, but at the same time is most of the prose in the article. What I'm mainly worried about is that once a character list on a given article is split, it often gives fans of the series the chance to expand bios, some to ridiculous sizes, with no sourcing, which is never a good thing. At least if it stays here on the main article that can be curbed somewhat, and if we shorten some of it that goes into excessive detail, then it won't be as bad. Character lists are the last big problem in terms of in-universe content, so wherever possible, I would think twice on a split. In this case, I do not believe it's absolutely necessary.--十八 08:24, 21 August 2013 (UTC)

Ho-Kago Tea Time

Should Ho-Kago Tea Time as a virtual band should have its own page?

I am putting this on the table since it makes slight sense to me:

• They have a relatively extensive discography (although used merely as promotion to the anime, their music is distinctively separate from the "K-On!" topic)
• They accomplished the feat of hitting number one in Japan
• They have performed live at one moment

Those does seem reasons to warrant they their own page in my view. Since it has been long since I last contributed to Wikipedia, I wanted to put this in discussion before making any moves.

Meaning of 軽音楽

The main description says:

The title of the series comes from the Japanese word keiongaku (軽音楽), which means popular music.

From what I can find online (I know nothing of Japanese), it means "light music". Is "light music" synonymous with "popular music"? Or is this a result of a literal translation or something similar?
